The volturi was walking on eggshells around both Aro and Cauis. They barely saw Alex anymore and when they did she was either pranking them or with Marcus.

Her pranks varied drastically. She would change there clothes out and replace them with dresses, she let dogs run rampant in there rooms, continued to change there phones ringtones and much more. They were tired and fed up but knew they couldn't do anything about it. They knew they were in the wrong and will have to apologize sooner or later.

Alex also knew they were breaking and she will have her way sooner or later. She could see the longing looks both her mates had every time they saw her. She would be lying if she didn't say she missed them both but she had to stay strong. They need to learn that she can take care of herself and so far only Marcus could really see that right now.

"Ran into your mates, they look miserable " Jane walked into the room smiling at Alex who sat looking out the window.

"That's the plan, they might as well give up and apologize " Alec added on, he walked in behind jane smiling softly at his mother figure

"True and they will sooner or later or I'll continue pissing them off very respectfully" Alex smirked at the thought of more pranks but on the inside she was sad and strangely missed them. She didn't want to fold first cause she knew they will continue babying her and she was no baby

"Nothing you do is respectful" jane giggled thinking about all the pranks she helped pull. She was happy for once along with Alec. Both finally getting to be able to act like children which was robbed from them .

I'm the end the twins left Alex to her thoughts. They both knew she missed her mates even if they never saw eye to eye and they both had a plan to help the two stubborn kings out only for the sake of their mother.

Sighing Alex got up and went in search of Marcus. Around this time they always met up in his office and she enjoyed her time with him. It got her mind off of all her issues. Walking into the office she couldn't help but smile at Marcus who was already seated on the couch with a book out.

"Would you like me to read to you today my love" Marcus didn't even have to glance up to know who walked into the room. No one was allowed to disturb the two at this time unless absolutely necessary.

"That sounds nice. Is that an adventure book" she questioned sitting down

"Yes, you said you enjoyed action packed books so I thought I'll read one for you this time" Marcus smiled as he opened the book and began to read

His voice that was usually dead was now full of life as he read the book. Alex was the only person who can bring the life back into him and it was obvious how much he had changed with her presence.

Alex on the other hand was much more calmer when around him. She could relax and be herself. She longed for some type of relationship with her other two mates, she hoped it will be sooner than later cause she didn't know how much longer she could last without them by her side.
