《For Your Sake (Complete)》Epilogue

Wheels of time kept moving, and so did their lives. Keshav recalled his Jiji telling him once that he had idolized his Swayam Bhaiya when he was a kid. He figured that it only goes to show that he was a stellar judge of people since childhood.
When he said that he is there for them now on, he meant it in every sense of the word. He filed a case in Lucknow against their uncle to get Keshav and Kavya their rightful inheritance back. Keshav had given Swayam an insight into the hardships they had faced in last few years after being chucked out of their house and business, often behind his peace-loving Jiji's back, angering him to no end. A big fan of 'what goes around comes around' Swayam all but brought their uncle and his sons on the roads in the property case which moved exceptionally swiftly and efficiently in Lucknow High Court owing to Swayam's political connections in Delhi. Before their uncle could realize what had hit him, the game was over.
But if Swayam thought that his duty was done after that, he couldn't have been more wrong. He realized how sheltered both brother and sister had been by their father, how soft-hearted. Their father's business could not sustain for long on such qualities. And thus he had to intervene. Kavya happily signed power of attorney of her fifty percent ownership in Swayam's name and went back to teaching, something that she loved. With no other option left, Swayam started learning the ropes of their business, all the while grooming Keshav as well. He relocated Keshav to Lucknow as a steady presence was required there to keep the morale of employees high and he could not leave his practice in Mumbai for which he had worked his ass off all his life. Also, he hired some loyal and capable management people to assist Keshav in running things smoothly. Keshav was trying his best as well.

Meanwhile, Swayam and Kavya had gotten married, with Keshav's blessings as Keshav liked to think of it.
A beautiful life together with walls of love, the roof of emotional security and light of smiles started taking shape. But as the seasons changed, the inevitable question of what next started nagging Kavya's mind. What to do about a child, to be precise. She managed to convince Swayam to explore advanced and latest treatment possibilities with respect to her case. He relented, albeit grudgingly. And he was very skeptical looking at Kavya's hopeful face when fertility specialist told them that with the help of new drugs in the market coupled with IVF, they could try for a baby. That there is a decent chance that they will have their own baby after all. He did not want her to get disheartened in case they were not able to conceive even with medical help. He could not see Kavya going back into the state of mind from where he had pulled her out so painstakingly. All he wanted was Kavya, just her and nothing else. Last two years of their marriage had only consolidated his belief.
And as he had feared, multiple IVF's failed, pushing Kavya into depression. He had to eventually put his foot down to stop the madness. Her consistent heartbreak and disappointment over what their future could have been like were making the life they had at present too painful to live. And to add to the whole issue of a child, surrogacy was something Swayam was dead against. He preferred to take in a newborn who has already come into this world and nurture him/her rather than going to insane lengths in the name of having your own baby. Anyway, Kavya had suffered so much already, that any other mishap in this regard, which was not an impossibility, would kill her. Thus he refused to even think in that direction. After a while, better sense prevailed in Kavya's mind too. She took her time but finally after three and a half years of their marriage, with Swayam's unwavering love giving her a perspective, she wholeheartedly consented to an adoption.

And as if God had heard at least one of her pleas, to be able to bring Swayam some happiness, as soon as they put in their application for adoption HE presented them with a chance to be the parents to a special baby girl. She was a born to a teen rape victim, who was not as strong as Swayam's mother and had abandoned the baby in the hospital a day after her birth vanishing in the dead of the night. The reason to adopt her was SO dear to her husband's heart that he had moved mountains to bring that particular baby home when she was put up for adoption. Red tape, bureaucracy, wait rules, corporates who wanted to sponsor the baby as a part of their social responsibility, they fought everything and finally brought their four-month-old cute chubby daughter home. Kavya had fallen in love with her the first time she had held her, but the peace she saw in her husband's eyes made her love much more profound. She could see the unbreakable bond of empathy that the man she loved shared with this baby due to their similar past.
He wanted to give her everything he could not to his mother. Everything his mother did not have to begin with, like a strong mother. And Kavya could not feel more honored at the thought. Their life was complete with their bundle of joy. It was like good luck has itself walked in her life in the form of this baby. Filling their lives with joy, dispelling the demons of their individual pasts. Erasing bad memories from their hearts by her mere presence. Making them a family. Giving them a chance to live their lives completely anew, and getting one for herself too.
She was named Aarti Raisinghania.
