february 4th.
Domonique's anxiety levels were high when I received the call about her passing out. The blood flow to her fetus was stopped shortly. Right then and there she went into a premature labor. Everyone was shocked. On top of that Isaiah still hadn't woken up. Our mom decided to put him on life support and it would be Domonique's decision to take him off. If my brother does end up dying, he left us with an amazing gift. is the most beautiful baby there could be. She's a premature little fighter. She doesn't even need the breathing machine recommended. I know Domonique is going to be the best mother she can be.

march 1st.
"Good Morning, Princess." I cooed tickling her small belly. "We're gonna go see daddy today! It's finally time for you to go spend some time with him."
It's only been three weeks since it's only been me and Skylar, she's amazing so far. To be premature she's developing super well and I'm proud of her. I wish Isaiah could see her, I know he'd instantly be in love with her. On the other hand Amir is playing daddy at this time. He adores her and loves her like he's his own. The only thing I don't want happening is them getting too attached, it wouldn't be right.
"I brought gifts again" Amir's voice echoed from down the hall until he was standing in front of me. "One teddy bear for little mama and a box of roses for big mama."
I picked Skylar up from the bed and held her carefully in my arms. "Thanks so much. You keep giving us gifts and I have nothing to give in return."
"It's okay. You don't have to get me anything, the both of you being healthy is the only thing that matters to me."

"You're so sweet, Amir." I chuckled. "Well I gotta get going, I feel like she's ready to meet her daddy."
He sighed, placing the gifts on the bed. "He's been on life support for almost a month, Nique. Don't you think it's time to let him go"
"No. It's not time to let him go, he's going to make it through this all he needs is a little more time."
"But you know the doctors are recommending you to pull the pl-"
"Enough" I whisper yelled. "I don't want to hear what the doctors are recommending to do. They don't know Isaiah like I do and one thing he wouldn't do is leave Skylar all alone. So, we'll be gone for a while."
With my freehand I managed to pick up the diaper bag and walked down the hall, downstairs ignoring whatever else he was saying. Walking into the living room I placed Skylar into her car seat and made sure she was all snug and comfortable. I threw one of the pink colored baby blankets on top and proceeded to leave the house. Once we were both all settled in the car, I pulled out of the driveway and onto the road. There's been lots of talk to taking Isaiah off of life support. Everyone thinks he isn't going to make it, everyone except for me at least. Maybe today would be our lucky day that he comes back. I'm praying and I'm hoping.
12:31pm.
I pushed open the door to Isaiah's room with my freehand while I carried Skylar in her car seat with the other. The ride here knocked her out and that was a big relief. I placed the car seat beside the chair that sat next to the bed. Removing the blanket from the car seat, I carefully unstrapped her and placed her into my arms, leaning back on he chair.
"You sleep just like your daddy." I chuckled, occasionally glancing up at the both of them.
Although, it's clear she looks like me, she does have similarities with Isaiah. For example, she sleeps just like him. When we were together he'd always sleep underneath me and she does the exact same. One of her body parts has to be touching me in order for her to sleep through the night. And, no Amir doesn't sleep in the bed with us. That'd be disrespectful as hell. But anyways, I think she heard me talking shit about her because she woke up quick.

"Won't you look at that. You woke up and wanted to know what was said huh I can see you already being mean, just like your mean ass daddy." I laughed slightly, talking to her and pinching her chubby cheeks. "When you get older I'ma tell you how daddy stood mommy up on our first date. Maybe you could beat him up for that because, I didn't appreciate it one bit."
A small slobbering smile appeared across her face with some giggling sounds. She knew what I was talking about but, at the same time she found it funny. My own daughter laughing at me.
"Domonique"
I heard my name softly being called and immediately looked up towards Isaiah. His eyes were slowly opening like he'd just woke from a deep sleep. Tears started to stream down my cheeks but, I didn't make any sudden movements. Skylar was still in my arms and I didn't want to do anything to startle her.
"Isaiah, can you see me I'm over here." I spoke clear enough for him to hear.
He slowly turned his head until his eyes met mine. "The baby" He slowly lifted his arm up and pointed at Skylar.
I smiled and nodded. "She came early. Ariana helped name her, it's Skylar Khaleesi Robinson. We thought you would like it."
He didn't say anything but did make a come here motion with his hands. I knew he wanted to see what she looked like. I carefully got up making sure to keep the support around her neck and placed her beside him. He looked at her and I could see the happiness in his eyes. Again, he didn't say a word. But instead he gave me a thumbs up. I smiled.
3:35pm.
Ariana, Monroe, and myself sat around in the hospital room enjoying Isaiah being awake. Once the doctors came in and he got some water, he was back to normal again. The only difference was he was taking things slow. Moving slow especially. He came out just in time before going brain dead and I'm happy about that.
"Can I hold Sky" Isaiah asked, looking in my direction.
I don't think it's registered to him that she's actually here. He hasn't called her his daughter yet but, keeps calling her by her name. It's going to take time.
I nodded and brought her over to him. "Make sure you protect her neck. I need her breaking necks but not her own." I joked, placing her into his arms and removing mine once she was secure.
"I can't believe I missed her being born..." He sighed. "I'm sorry you gotta see me with all these needles and tubes everywhere babygirl."
"It's okay. You were there in spirit, you was the reason she had to come early anyways."
"She's so beautiful. We did a good job with this one, I can't wait until I can go home with her."
"There's some things the doctors have to talk to you about before you can go." Monroe chimed in. "It's something everyone wants answers to."
He looked up at Monroe confused. "What would y'all need answers to?"
"They found drugs in your system from the accident. And, there were loads of drugs in your truck Izzy." Ariana added.
He stayed quiet and stared at Skylar instead. I could tell there were reasons for him doing this. I knew he wouldn't do anything like this just to do it. He wasn't that kind of person.
"That's not a worry right now. I'm just seeing Skylar and you wanna bring up some drugs man" He shook his head, not breaking eye contact with Skylar. "Daddy sorry for everything baby. I promise you I ain't never leaving you, ever."

The Fall of The Gods
Synopsis: In the year 1966, an army of Orishas led by Sango stormed Amadioha’s palace and razed it the ground, starting a decades-long war between two of Nigeria’s most powerful divine orders. Blinded by the rage of battle, the gods did not detect the rise of a third power, far greater and deadlier than anything they could have imagined. When gods, on both the Yoruba and Igbo sides, begin falling mysteriously to their death, Sango seeks the help of Odion, a Lagos teenager destined to rise from his dark past to become a hero. But can a human hero save the gods from a doomed fate? The Fall of the Gods is an action-packed YA fantasy based on the mythical bond that ties human life with the realm of the divine. It demonstrates the power of stories to change our lives. It also reminds us that Sango and Amadioha are not relics of the past and that, sometimes, what it means to be a hero in today’s world is knowing how to find inspiration in the stories of the gods. PLEASE NOTE: Weekly chapters will be released every friday along with interludes once in a while about Nigerian mythology. I'm a young 17 year old writer and I am new to the site so I will appreciate your comments and reviews. Thank you very much.
