《Just go with it | Falice fanfiction》Chapter seventeen

And there the four of them sat in a Hawaiian themed restaurant as a waiter took their drink orders. The waiter had expressed her love for one of the wines on their menu, which clearly wasn't something Hermione enjoyed.
"Really? Because when we were in the Napa Valley, they said that wasn't a good time of year for Merlot." She eyed the waitress sassily.
"Oh, how about the Verite Cabernet?" The waitress blushes.
"Isn't that really grapey? I mean I enjoy grapey but not over grapey." Hiram argues with the waitress while FP and Alice share a whispered conversation.
"Did you go over the index cards I wrote you?" She asked him, holding up a menu so they couldn't read her lips.
He did the same. "I glanced at them, yes" he teased her.
"You glanced at them?" She raised her eyebrows.
"I graduated med school without reading a single book, just relax." She rolls her eyes at that.
"You know what, just give us the most expensive bottle you have, and it'll probably be good enough." Hiram tells the waitress, earning a giggle from Hermione.
The waitress leaves with an eye roll no one sees, not excited to be serving them tonight.
"Look at us, Alice! Both so happily married." She kisses Hiram on the cheek.
"Can you even believe it?" Alice exclaims.
"Everything that I've always hoped for, right Hiram?" She places her forehead on his.
"Of course my little sugar bear." He replies, causing them to start cooing at each other.
FP and Alice share a disgusted look before he pulled out his phone and texted her.
Her phone chimes and she takes it in her hands.
FP: I think they took one of the pills you keep in your purse.
She giggled before sending him a text back as the two love birds continued to smother each other in eskimo kisses.
Al: I just hope their noses are clean.
FP chuckles, shaking his head at her before setting his phone back on the table.
"Hold on a second, I love the way you smell. Nothing smells as good as Hermie over here." Hiram tells them.
"Smelling Hermie, that's always a good thing." He looks over at Alice who chokes on her water, unable to withhold her laughter at his joke.
(Shit=Hermie )
The waitress had returned with their bottle of wine and had leaned over Hiram to get to his glass.
"Don't pour over me! Do not pour over me, I'll bring my glass to you." He yells at her, moving his glass over so she could reach it.
"So, FP-" Hermione breaks the awkward tension. "You're a plastic surgeon?"
"Yes, I am." He smiles.
"Very convenient for you, Alice." Hermione winks at her, causing Alice's mouth to gape open before she covers it up with a laugh.
"Oh no, this girl has had nothing done." FP assures them. "She's just a natural beauty." He reaches for her hand, placing his over top of hers on the table.
"Awe, sweetie." She caresses his hand with her other one.
"What about me? What would you fix about me?" Hermione giddily asks him.
"Professional speaking? I wouldn't do a thing."
"Nothing? You're too sweet." She smirks.
"I mean, they already took too much fat out of your arms, but that's what sleeves are for." He explains further, causing Hermione to send him a glare.
"So, where did you to meet?" She asks Alice, ignoring the comment FP had just made.

"We-Uh- we just met at a concert." She waves her off.
"Sting." FP chimes in. "It was a benefit for the register." They reminisce with grins.
Suddenly, Hirams phone goes off. He answers it and realizes he needed to excuse himself as he had to deal with business.
"I'm sorry, this is my company. I've got to take this." He apologizes before turning to Hermione.
She pulls him in closer. "Your virtue, your passion, your intelligence."
"Your beauty, your womanhood, and your love." He kisses her before hurrying off.
The two stare at the couple in confusion. Hermione has noticed and laughed.
"It's just something we do whenever the other leaves the room. We say what we love most about the other." She explains, setting her hands on the table.
"That's sweet." Alice compliments.
"That's a lot. I like that." FP replies too.
"You guys should try it." She tells them, waving a finger at them.
"Yes, we should, we will yes. We will do that later." Alice rambles, twisting a piece of her hair.
"Well, not everyone can do it." Hermione chuckles.
She wasn't going to let Hermione win, thinking that she was better than her. Not this time, it was Alice's turn to win, even if it was fake.
"We'll do it now, right now." She makes eye contact with FP and he nods nervously.
"What you do, is you look each other in the eyes, and you say what you love about the other." She explains, waving her hands at them to do it.
"We can't just say it? We gotta look at each other for this thing?" FP mumbles and Hermione nods her head vigorously.
"Yes, we're so ready-we're ready." Alice chokes out, both of them turning to face each other. "Are you ready?"
"Go ahead." He tells her, letting a small grin take place.
"Come on!" Hermione claps her hands together, awaiting for them to start.
"Um-" she pretends to think, she knows what she loves about him just afraid to admit it. "I love your sense of humour"
"You do?" He raises his eyebrows, she nods. "All of it?" She giggles.
"Every dirty little bit of it." He laughs at that.
"I love your stories" she smiles widely.
"Yes, they can be long but I try to finish strong."
"It's okay, they're always entertaining." She grins.
She takes a moment, her look softening when she realized that he truly had read the index cards she had given him, he was just teasing her.
"I love that you read the index cards." She whispers softly.
He nods. "Of course."
"And I love that you secretly have a huge heart." His stomach flutters as she speaks about him, a feeling he had never gotten before. "And it is just filled with kindness and humility." She goes on with a loving gaze.
"And blood." He joked, trying to get that feeling out of his stomach.
"I'm sure there's blood." She shook her head. They both get lost in each others eyes before she continued. "I don't know, I-I just Uh- I think you're a really nice person and I really like-I really love spending time with you." She softly smiles.
His mouth had gaped open slightly as he noticed a certain glint in her eyes. What was he feeling for her? She was just his assistant and friend, nothing more.
"That's good enough for me right there, game over." He looks over at Hermione who's grinning.

"FP, it's your turn." She points to him giddily.
"Game back on?" His voice raises slightly, suddenly feeling nervous.
Alice tilts her head to the side, watching him get clammed up. She was confused, but before she could question it, he was speaking again.
"Uh- well, I'd like to start off by saying that I love the most that you got your teeth fixed." He started with a joke to try and lighten the emotional mood.
She lets out a laugh. "Why did I know that you were going to say that."
"They were horrible, I agree." He smirks at Hermione who pretends to have buckteeth, making fun of Alice.
She rolls her eyes at that before looking back at FP, raising her eyebrows with a soft look urging him to continue.
He sighs, he knew what he wanted to say and he was just going to say it. There was nothing more to it than best friends, right?
"You know what I love?"
"What?"
"How you just do everything for everybody else and you never expect anything back." She's taken aback by the sweetness, expecting another joke.
"In fact, when I say thank you, do you hear it or not?"
She shakes her head no jokingly watching his face drop and lets out a giggle.
"That's cute." He smiles at her. "And I love-Uh-I just love Uh-" he gets lost with his words and her eyebrows furrow.
He looks away from her and takes a breath before turning his attention back to looking deeply in her piercing blue eyes.
"You're the only person I've never lied to in my life, I swear to god." He watches her smile grow. "I just trust you more than anybody in the world. You know every secret about me." He chuckles.
"I love your smile. That smile is the magic." Their eyes are locked together, and he watches her cheeks blush. "When I'm in the operating room, all I think about is, all right, twenty more minutes till I get to see that smile." He shakes his head slowly.
"It's just like, it starts my day that smile." He finishes, watching her eyes gloss over.
Her heart swelled as they stared at each other. They didn't know the feeling that had suddenly taken over the both of them, and they didn't know what to do with it. They were so lost in the moment-
"I won best smile at our sorority three years straight, right Alice?" Hermione exclaimed, causing Alice to jump.
Alice nods as her and FP awkwardly shift back to sitting at the table properly, letting their moment sink in. What just happened? What was that?
Hiram had returned a few minutes later, and they simply talked amongst themselves until their food came. More drinks were ordered, as FP and Alice tried to avoid each other as much as possible, feeling the tension thicken.
"Welcome! I am Tom Keller and we're ready for the legendary Oceano's Hula Competition." He announces over the microphone onstage.
"Legendary? Never heard of it!" Hermione laughs.
"Legendary like the day you were once sober." He jokes back, the crowed erupting in laughter. "So, she talks the talk, but who will walk the walk? just head over to the ladies lounge."
"I think you should do it, Hermie." Hiram points to his wife who lets out a scoff. "She would win."
Hermione lets out a cackle as FP and Alice eye her annoyingly. They were really just too full of themselves.
Hermione abruptly stands up from her chair. "I'll do it."
"Oh, good show!" Hiram exclaims. "Alice, what about you?"
Fp turns to look at her with a cheeky smile, watching as her mouth gapes open.
"Oh come on, this isn't Alice's thing. Right Alice?" She raises an eyebrow with a smirk.
"Yeah, you-you are right." Alice sighed.
"Some people are just more comfortable on the side lines." She shrugs her shoulders turning around to face the stage. "How do I win this thing?" She questions excitedly, making her way backstage.
Alice takes a shot off of the table and tilts her head back, tasting the vodka. "I'm gonna do this hula thing." She announces.
"Oh, don't feel pressured." Hiram tells her.
"Oh I'm not the one who should feel the pressure." She takes another shot, setting it back down on the table harshly before making her way backstage.
FP let out a laugh, he was seeing a different side of her tonight and he liked it.
-
The Hula competition had started with eight woman walking on the stage in a coconut bra and a hula skirt. It was the audience's choice of who won that night, it all depended on their cheer for the woman.
As the announcer went around the stage, placing his hand above the woman's heads asking for the crowds opinion, everyone was quickly eliminated, leaving Hermione and Alice left to battle it out.
Hermione was feeling intimidated, but wouldn't show it. She and Alice battled it out, doing a different move each time earning applause and hollers from the crowd.
Hermione ended it by going into the splits, and Alice ended hers by making her way in-front of Hermione and shaking her hips wildly. The crowed erupted into applause as Hermione pushed Alice out of the way so the crowed could see her again.
"Nobody got cheated here tonight. These are two of the hottest chicks we have ever had up here, but our job is not done. I need your help, because I need a winner." Tom announces making his way over to Hermione.
He places his hand over her head. "Let me here you." The crowd cheers loudly for Hermione, leaving her blowing kisses to all of them thinking that she had won.
"Wow, that is going to be tough to beat." He makes his way over to Alice placing a hand above her head. "How about over here?"
The crowd went completely wild, most of them standing up giving her a standing ovation. Alice smiles widely, knowing she had won. She looked straight into FP's eyes, seeing as he applauded fiercely for her.
"There you have it, we have ourselves a-" Hermione, a sore loser, suddenly flashes the crowd, earning the same amount of applause as Alice.
"We have ourselves a tie." Tom shakes his head.
"Awh, that's great! We both win." Alice turns to Hermione.
She grabs the microphone from Keller. "What's the tie breaker? What's the tie breaker!?"
Alice rolled her eyes at that, of course she couldn't end it all with a tie.
Soon enough, Tom had invited FP and Hiram up on stage to play a game as the tie breaker. Both couples were set face to face with a coconut in between them at their bellybutton.
"This is how we settle ties in my house. It's something I like to call, Coconut Smoochie. The object of the game is, the coconut is in their midsections, it must move all the way up to their mouths without the use of their hands." The crowd laughs. "If you do touch the Coconut, you are eliminated. Okay, ready? One, two, three, get coconuty!"
And they were off again, both couples trying to get the coconut up to their mouths. They rubbed against each other as they made the coconut roll upwards.
"Okay, let me just bring it up to you." FP tells her.
"Okay do it!" Alice replies anxiously.
"Bring your coconuts down to me." He tells her.
"Okay, oh, my coconuts?" She realizes he meant her bra, as she kneels down a bit to bring their coconut to her chest.
Hermione and Hiram we're struggling as the coconut was on his knee and held only by her chin.
"I'm sorry about this by the way." FP grins, letting the coconut sit against their chests.
"Really? You're really sorry about this?" Alice quirks an eyebrow sarcastically.
"No I'm not, I like it." He winks.
They continue getting closer as they try to bring the coconut up to their mouths. The coconut is sitting at their necks as he held her hips and she held his arms. He was leaning down enough to be right beside her neck.
"Hang on a second."
"What, what? What's going on?" Alice rambles.
"What is that? You still got that perfume on, huh?" He teases her again, secretly liking her scent.
"Oh would you stop it?" She exclaims.
"It smells good."
"Come on, let's go." Shes thankful he couldn't see her cheeks blush.
Alice had leaned down a bit getting the coconut in her mouth.
"That's my girl. Okay." He smiles as Alice leads the coconut back upwards, connecting it to his mouth.
"And we've got a winner! We have a winner, everybody!" The crowd cheers loudly.
Hermione stomps her foot, fuming. "You suck at everything!" She exclaims, running off stage followed by her husband.
Alice and FP let the coconut stay in between their mouths as they stare into each others eyes. The whole crowd seem to had disappeared until the coconut dropping taking them back into reality as they smiled giddily at one another.
"Coconut Smoochie champions right here! Great team work guys, how long have you guys been married?"
They put their arms around each other.
"Ten years." Alice says
"Eight years." FP says at the same time.
They both give each other a look before fixing their mistake.
"Eight years." Alice says.
"Ten years." FP says at the same time.
They both stumble along their words. "Uh-a very long time." They finish together.
-
Their night had ended right there as they made their way back to the hotel.
"Did you see the look in her face?"
"Yes!" FP smiled.
"Do you understand how much joy that brought me?" Alice giggled, causing FP's heart to flutter.
"How about the look on her face when you were doing the juggling during the hula contest though?" He exclaims.
"That was pretty good, you liked that?" She bites her lip.
"It was pretty cute." He laughed.
"And when you talked about her arms getting done!" She laughs.
"I know, that was pretty good." He laughed with her, placing his hand on the small of her back.
They had made the walk back seem so short, as they laughed and smiled widely. They couldn't get enough of each other, so when they got to Alice's hotel door, both of their stomachs sank.
"That was really fun! you know what, I think that was the first time that you and I had ever gone out, you know just us." She turns to face him, crossing her arms.
"I know, I do. I just feel bad for that Fred Andrews guy." She fondly rolls her eyes, letting out a short laugh.
"I think it is so adorable how obsessed you are with this guy." She pats his chest.
"I just can't picture you guys in a date, you know what I mean?" He frowns.
She smirks. "You said it was a date, ever?"
"You." They both say in union, causing Alice to raise her eyebrows.
"You get very excited when you talk to this man." He mumbles.
"Listen, Dr. Holland is moving his practice to New York, and Fred isn't going to go with him, and he has just been asking me if I wanted to go and replace him." She explained, watching how his face dropped immediately.
"You're going?" He chokes out.
"No." He watched a huge smile spread across her face.
He lets one take over him as well. "You can't do that to me."
"I just wanted to see how you'd react! Look at you, you can't live without me." She giggles, pointing a finger at him.
"You kind of played with me a little bit though. You could've told me that earlier. You're just messing with me, trying to get me a little jealous weren't you?" He pokes her side.
"I was just having fun teasing you, why-why were you jealous." She smiles.
"No, get outta here, was I jealous? No." He rambles with a grin.
"Look at your, you're grinning! You can't stop smiling, what is that smile? I didn't know you had so many teeth." She watched as he glowed.
They both laugh as he started to play around with her hands.
"So, there's nothing? You and Fred, there's nothing?" He questions.
"No, nothing." She sighs.
"Well then, that's a shame." He lets out.
"What?" Her eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"That coconut, getting in the way tonight." Her breath hitches.
"Oh, no." She laughed nervously. "You're lucky that coconut was there, you wouldn't of been able to handle this." She teased him.
He had stepped closer to her, their faces now just inches apart. "Maybe you're right, what, you've got more tricks that I don't know about?" He says lowly.
"I don't know." She had gotten lost in his eyes for the thousandth time that night. "I don't-don't know anything." She breathes out.
They both started inching closer, but just as their lips were about to touch the door swings open.
"Mommy?" Charles and Betty exclaim from the door.
Alice and FP spring apart, breathing heavily.
"Hi kids!" Alice greets them, hugging her children. "What are you guys doing up?"

Where did I wake up?
A pretty standard story about a man that gets transferred to a new world, and gains a system to help him survive. This is pretty close to the first draft of this story, so there will be grammar mistakes until I get down to fixing them. Synopsis, genre and tags will also change as I get more writing done. I will try to release two to three short chapters a week. I don't own the cover image; it is just something I found online.
