Camilo locked himself in his room. His family was worried about him; they remembered the look on his face when he came home the day before, it was an expression that they had never seen on the boy before.
He didn't come out of his room for dinner that night. A little cloud of snow appeared on top of his mom's head, she was worried for her son.
Nobody knew what had happened, nobody knew what to do.
But they forgot one thing, a simple thing that is very hard to be overlooked.
Dolores knew. She knew what had happened the night Camilo came home that night.
She pressed her lips together in thought.
"Dolores." Abuela Alma said, shocking Dolores out of thought. She flinched looking over at her.
"Tell us what happened."
...
"Camilo." His mom, Pepa, knocked on his door. "Can I come in?" She gently opened the door peeking inside. Her heart broke a bit seeing her son buried in his covers. She could hear his soft cries as she slowly made her way towards Camilo's bed.
Camilo could feel someone sitting down on his bed. "Go away." Camilo's voice was all raspy. "Camilo." Pepa placed her hand on Camilo's arm and rubbed it gently.
"Dolores already told the family, didn't she?" Camilo buried himself deeper within his covers. "She did." Pepa admitted slowly nodding her head.
Her eyebrows knitted as the snow fell harder in Camilo's room. She tried to calm herself down the best she could when her child was experiencing heartbreak for the first time.
She bit the inside of her cheek. "Just cry it all out." Pepa said in a soft tone, "Release the pain and it will go away faster... The feeling will go away faster, and you will move on."
"But I don't want to move on." Camilo cried, he sat up and faced his mom. His eyes were bloodshot from all of the crying and his cheeks were stained from his tears.

"It's going to be hard at first... But you will learn to accept it within time... You will heal."
Camilo looked down at his hands. He clenched them into fists as hard as he could before releasing it.
He felt the warmth of his tears form in the corners of his eyes, his breath quickened as he tilted his head up, his eyebrows knitted as he remembered what his mom said.
To just let it all out.
And so he did.
You stared at your ceiling lost in thought. You were hurt, you knew he was in the wrong for lying to you. But you couldn't help but feel guilty for not letting him explain himself.
You exhaled looking off to the side.
Regardless if you let him explain himself it doesn't give him the excuse as to why he went and lied to you, making you think you fell in love with someone who turned out to be someone else.
You weren't ready to see him yet. You needed to be mentally ready, which you weren't at the time being.
You hugged your pillow closer to your body.
"What do I do..." You whispered before burying your face into the pillow as you started to cry again.
A week had passed and you still felt the same way you felt a week ago. You had no motivation for anything as you laid in bed staring at nothing, doing nothing.
Your parents start to worry when they see you poke at your food. You always ate what was served to you as long as it didn't contain things you didn't like, and you ate it up with ease never complaining.
"Y/N, are you okay?" They asked you, you looked up at them with a blank stare. You slowly nodded your head and faked a smile.
You weren't okay, you felt terrible.
"Who hurt you today?" Your older sister by two years cackled. "¡Ai!" She yelped when your parents nudged her. "What? They obviously don't look okay, I mean look at them! They look like someone grabbed their heart and drowned it in a toilet." Your sister took a bite out of her food.

You looked at your sister too mentally exhausted to argue back and you continued to poke at your food.
Your sister's eyes widened as she swallowed her food, surprised you didn't take the chance to bicker back, which was a normal thing between the two of you; was the way you two loved.
"Thanks for the food." You mumbled pushing back your chair as you stood up. You walked back to your room and flopped on your bed.
You wake up to your sister knocking on the door. "Hey." She said walking in. You sighed your head faces down on your pillow hoping it would suffocate you.
Your sister sat on your bed seeing your depressed state.
The last time you were like this was when you finished your favorite book and the main character chose the terrible guy rather than the clearly better option.
The two of you sat in an awkward silence.
"Look I don't know what happened-" You cut her mid sentence as you abruptly sat up.
You began to explain everything that happened, how Camilo had been lying to you pretending to be someone else for a month, and how you fell in love with this person, how when you two were about to kiss something scared you causing you to push him away revealing it was Camilo the entire time.
You took a deep breath in. "I ran away before I could hear his explanation. I can't help but feel guilty about it. But I really don't think I'm ready to see him just yet... what should I do?"
Your sister stared at you with shock, "He really led you on like that?" She asked, "Yeah, but what if he had a proper explanation as to why... but it doesn't give him the excuse for lying to me for so long, I know. But I still can't help but feel guilty for not hearing him out!" You rambled.
"Well you have every right to be mad at him." Your sister said, crossing her arms. She wasn't really helping you though.
"But if you feel so guilty, why don't you go to him and ask for his explanation?" She paused for a bit, "When you're ready, that is."
"But when will I know when I'm ready?" You asked, the volume of your voice lowered, your eyebrows knitted together.
Your sister looked at you with a blank look as her bottom lip jutted up to the side, she shrugged her shoulders.
You sighed falling back down on your bed as you began to cover your body with your cover.
"You'll know when you're ready." Your sister smiled, placing her hand on your side. "Until then..." She got up, "You gotta put yourself together first."
You heard her walk out of your room closing the door behind her.
You moved the blanket revealing your head as you looked at your, now, empty room.
You noticed something that wasn't there before ontop your drawer.
It was some snacks and a new book with a note attached on the top.
"Hope this helps ;)
-love, sis"
It read. You smiled, grabbing the book. You held it in your hands looking at the hardcover of the book before opening it up to the first page.
