《My BadBoy》Chapter 54: "Ciao Principessa"

"Do you always pass out after taking a shower or...?" A snarky voice spoke. I squinted through the bright lights above me and notice it was Sadie who made that comment.
Of course.
I groaned trying to sit up. " I didn't pass out, I fell asleep. I don't know, maybe it was because of whatever you shot up my bloodstream"
She gave me a hand to help me get off the table. "And I suppose that's why you confessed you're in love with Jackson?"
"I'm not in love with him," I pushed her hand away and got off the table myself. " Have you always been this evil? what happened to you?"
She scoffed and began to walk towards a door. "I hope you don't mind but we inserted a tracking device in your arm so don't think about running away because we'll find you"
" I mind" I idly follow her through the door.
" I don't care" She turned to face me. Her appearance seemed different to me somehow. She's completely transformed from carefree, fun Sadie to all black, leather wearing, backstabbing Sadie.
"Wait here" She brought me into what looks like an interrogation room, before I could object she slammed the door shut.
I winced and looked at my arm. There was a white gauze wrapped tightly around it with a little blood spot. I'm guessing they used one of those fancy guns they use in movies to shoot the tracking device in my arm. Wow did I just say my life is like a movie?
It's far from it.
I looked around the room. Honestly I wouldn't really call it a room —more like a giant box. There was a big metal table in the middle of the room with two chairs, yep definitely an interrogation room. I sat in the chair and placed my head on the table.

I honestly should've listened to Jackson but I just..I couldn't just stand around and watch him flirt with some random girl —okay maybe she's not that random, but still— I hate being the damsel in distress, it's honestly not that fun. If he's a jerk the 'hero' doesn't even kiss you in the end —not that I want that idiot to kiss me.
I don't. I could care less what he does. Honestly.
The door flew open, banging on the wall. I saw his shoes first then my eyes slowly started to wander up to his face. I gasped.
"Ciao Principessa," He smirked. "Remember me?"
"Vito" I tried to not sound like a scared little animal.
"Missed me?" When I didn't answer he nodded as if he understood something. " Didn't think so"
"W-What do you want?" I asked.
An expression crossed his face but it was quickly wiped away before I could read it. " You mean you don't know? Oh, child I think it's time you get caught up on things...some 'protecter' Jackson is huh?"
"I think he did a pretty good job" I crossed my arms. Jackson drives me crazy but no one gets to talk smack about him but me. That's wrong but at least I sat it to his face...most of the time. Ok now I sound like a teenage girl having drama with her bff.
Then again, that's kind of what's—
" Right.." He studied my expression. " Are you familiar with the Nuovo righello principle?"
" The what?" His accent is so thick I could barely understand his english then he mixed that with italian and now i'm completely lost. I should've paid attention in my foreign language class.
" It means new ruler," He adjusted his tie. " In the Mafia —or anything really— the leader either gets sick, dies or is too old to operate therefore a Legittimo proprietario needs to take his place, the rightful owner a.k.a, the heir"

" A heir?" I was slowly trying to process what he was saying. He smiled and his piercing grey eyes turned cold.
" Sì principessa a heir," He leaned in across the tabled and locked eye with me. " The first born child has to take over the Mafia when daddy gets ill, and that. Is. You"
My mind buzzed. " What? I have to rule the Mafia? but.." I stopped and cleared my throat. I can't let him see fear, people like that feeds on it. " So what?, Kidnap the new Mafia boss so you won't have to face and deal with me later?"
" Oh!," He howled with excitement, sitting back in his chair. "But wait there's more. The Mafia boss cannot be female"
Sexist much? " What's wrong with females?"
" Over the years our forefathers built an empire from man's blood and we will not disrespect them by having a woman lead such a powerful famiglia. Ever."
I didn't respond because I couldn't. There was absolutely nothing that I could say to this narcissistic asshole to make him see sense in what he just said. Suddenly we're back in the 1800s when women were just sex tools and housewives.
" Don't get me wrong," He continued when I didn't say anything. " Women are great—" He winked. " —But they just can't be leaders. We had a female leader once. Rosella Fubini, long dark hair, big beautiful lips, she was a goddess and I looked up to her—"
He looked directly at me. "—until her feelings got in the way. She found herself caught up in a love triangle and because of that two famiglie turned against each other, and when it was time to stand together they all ended up killing each other, my grandfather was a child when this happened and all mafia groups went to a committee before deciding women are too unfit to rule. They need to be put in their place"
" Wow," I tried my best to not look fazed by this. " So one woman makes a mistake and suddenly we're all 'unfit rulers'. sounds a bit hypocritical don't you think?"
He got out of his chair. " Your impotence worries me"
" So... what? my dad had a daughter instead of a son to rule. What does that mean?" I knew where this was headed but I tried to stall anyway.
" Well," He paused to think for a moment. " Naturally he should've of kept trying until he got a son to rule"
I sat up in my chair trying to understand the situation better. " Okay, so what if it took him three tries to get a son? three daughters, then what? the son still isn't the first born child"
I knew what was coming next.
He smirked. " He is if you kill the three daughters"

Litchi is your ordinary Royal Road addict. She can’t resist the call of a new chapter even when she needs to work. Because of too many new responsibilities she promises one week without reading. Sadly, she cracks in three days, because of an Azarinth Healer notification. Taking out her phone she starts avidly reading. It’s just a small promise, she will try it another time. Nothing should happen. Say that to the goblin that tries to eat your face, Litchi! You should keep your promise! She was used to food jokes on her name but it seems that this time her destiny is to be eaten. ---- Hello future reader! I didn’t find a new good isekai so why not create my own? I am an RR addict and amateur writer (in French) and today I decided to publish a story. You will have my eternal gratitude for any advice or constructive comments on the story! One of my objectives is to have developed characters, duo or trio make a fantastic way to character growth. So, I will try to create a deep relationship between a few of them. The first few chapters have a lot of combat, but other characters will soon arrive. Those first few chapters are made to build tension and create Litchi's first motivations. This story has the plot written to the end and important characters already shaped. This story is short in comparison to the majority of RR fantasy stories. Update every two days until I have no more chapters in my pocket. Average chapter length: 2200 words Warning: The grammar can be bad, IMPORTANT CHARACTERS CAN (Will) DIE, contain philosophical conversation as the characters stumble upon morals dilemmas. I hope I will see you soon in the comments and thank you in advance for reading Litchi’s journey. Have a nice day! :)
