Aaron's P.O.V
I watched as Aphmau and my sister talked. Shock was evident on her face as Aphmau told her a shorten version of her literal life story. Ross was chasing Max and was screaming, "Give me back my wallet!" Sky was in a dark corner, licking a bunch of gold and whispering "Budder." Red was walking around saying apple in a weird accent. Barney was riding a goat and complaining about how someone stole his apples. Jin was messing around with some wires and the TV. And Corey was just sitting there, watching the chaos unfold. I on the other hand was considering leaving with Aph I mean Jess. I will never get use to calling her Jess or get use to her being over 250 years older than me. I will also never get use to the fact that she has two kids. Or the fact she has other friends. Or the fact that her friend s are complete idiots and she actually likes them. If I leave with Aph, I mean Jess, I would have to get use to all of this. Also, I don't even know where she is going or why. I don't think she quite knows either.
As I as lost in my thoughts, two red headed girls busted in and one was holding a child who looked about two years old. One of the red heads was wearing a silver paper crown slightly tilting on her small head and the other was wearing an outfit similar to Sky's. However she had an amulet that had gold outlining a hot pink diamond. I recognized this one as Alisa, Sky's wife. The other one though, I don't think I have met. "The shubble has arrived!" She announced as she sat on the TV stand. Right, that's Ross's cousin, who threatened to break all their legs. The little boy in Alisa's Arms, waddled over to Adam and hugged him. "DJ Baby mason!" Aph, uh I mean Jess squealed as she swiftly raced over to the light brown haired boy. That must be Adams son. Melisa looked like she she was in complete shock so I walked over to my sister. "I am going to go with her," I said as I sat in Jess's seat. She looked up at me with wide eyes. "I understand," She said and then continued "She had it worst than us and she had kids to deal with," She added. I nodded in agreement, understanding and thankfulness.

I was about to thank her but I was interrupted by a flying door. It narrowly missed Garroth, who looked terrified at the fact the door almost hit him and mortified at the fact someone can break down doors better than he could. The red, oak door shattered upon contact of the wall. I looked up to see Silvana standing in the door way, with flames of rage sparkling in her usually soft, brown eyes. I don't think I have ever been so terrified of Aphmau's mom in my whole entire life. And she was petrifying when I was in high school. Silence fell upon the room as every one stopped their talking to direct their attention to Silvana. She ignored every ones burning stares as she swiftly and sternly marched over to Melisa and I. Well I am dead.
As I accepted my fate that I was going to die today, she shoved my aside ad stormed over to Jin. He must of not notice her walk in because he was still tinkering with some wires. She then just grabbed them out of his hand and dropped them on the wooden floor. Jin looked horrified as his hard work was mistreated. He then looked up with sad eyes, and they met Silvana's rage filled ones. He then smiled as his sadness was replaced with joy. "Why didn't you tell me that you were here?" She asked dangerously calmly. He gulped as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Well we were caught up explaining some things about J-" He began to say but was interrupted by Silvana. "So they know now," She said in a more gentle tone. He sheepishly nodded. She let out a grateful sigh.
"So what are you going to do?" She asked as she turned towards Aphmau. "I am going back," She said flatly. Silvana nodded understandingly. "The kids are up stairs if you want to see them," She said as she nodded her head towards the stairs, swiftly changing the subject. A big grin made it's way onto Aph's mom's sun kissed face as she quickly dashed upstairs. Jess had a small smile as I walked towards her. "Hey, um... I want to come with you," I quickly said. She turned her head to me with a slight smirk on her face as she raised her left eyebrow. "Really, why?" She asked with a hint of mischief in her angelic voice. "Because, despite all of this I still love you," I said after a short sigh. "What about Melisa, your sister?" She asked and emphasized the 'your sister' part. I just shrugged. "She will be fine," I say calmly.

I look over to my right to see her talking to Max. I see Aph- I mean Jess follow my gaze. She then plasters on a wide smile. "Oh my god, Mad Max is actually smiling," She squealed as she pointed at the red head. All of her old friends turned to see but Max's smile swiftly faded. I am going to guess that it is rare to witness him smile. "I swear to god Jess, I am going to murder you!" He yelled from the other side of the room. Melisa seemed to be enjoying their small argument. She giggled as Max shot mental giggles at Jess. "So worth it," She whispered just loud enough for me to hear.
She glanced over at the clock to see that it was around eight PM. She sighed as she grabbed my arm. "We have to go now," She said as she tugged me up stairs. We walked in to see Joseph and Julia sleeping on my bed and Silvana sitting on Jess's bed. The rest of Aph's friends walked into the room. "Adam, you take Alisa and Mason!" She instructed as she pointed at him. "Ross, you take Joseph. Max take Julia and Cory. Barney take any one else who wants to come," She said and they all nodded. Barney went down stairs, to get anyone else. He soon came returned with Travis and Zane. I didn't really expect anyone else to come. "Travis can run on his own so take Zane. I'll take Aaron," She said.
After saying a bunch of good byes, we got ready to leave. Red turned into a leopard, carrying all of our supplies. Max turned to lion, carrying sleeping Julia and Corey. Ross turned into a grey fox, carrying Joseph. Sky turned into a light orange tiger carrying his wife and child. Shelby turned into a hawk and was holding a map in her beak. Barney turned into a cheater, carrying a baffled Zane. Jin transformed into a cheater, holding a few bit's of technology. Then Aph led me outside and turned into a beautiful white wolf. I then got on her back and held on for dear life as they all started running. We are leaving...

However, his life changes drastically when he is chosen for one of the "Scouting" lotteries, in which the capital city forces some of the soulless to scout potential danger zones for monsters or enemy units. Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
