I do not own any of Aphmau's characters except for Jay
------------------------
Aphmau's POV
------------------------------
Jay was still up ahead of me, so I put on a burst of speed and caught up.
"So, how's life?" I asked.
Jay tilted his head.
"Ehh...it's got ups and downs." He said. "Thanks for the bracelet. It matches my hook."
He unrolled his sleeve and revealed his long, metal hook that curled in the shape of a question mark. It was his ironic replacement of his hand. A pirates hook.
The golden band was slipped near the wrist.
I could hear a gasp of surprise but when I turned around, there was nobody.
Strange.
We stopped by Delli's Icecream and Frozen Treats stand.
"Hello! What can I get you!" A young lady with auburn hair tied into a bun smiled brightly.
"I'll get a Blueberry Blast Popsicle and..." He trailed off, looking meaningfully at me.
I cleared my throat. "And a mint chocolate cone please!"
"'Kay, sweethearts that'll be $6.99."
I started to get out my purse but then remembered I'd left it at home.
"Oh my Irene! I forgot my money!" I exclaimed.
"Don't worry, its on me." Jay said, pulling out a $10 dollar bill. "Keep the change."
If possible, the woman's smile became brighter. "Thank you so much! Have a nice day!" She chirped.
While eating my icecream, I turned and found myself looking at my least favorite people.
Sasha, Lillian, and Ivy.
"Well if it isn't the ugly potato." Ivy sneered, her bubblegum hair whipping me in the face.
Lillian and Sasha snickered.
"Gee thanks! I was trying to look like you today!" I snapped back.
Ivy's face turned bright red. "Shut your mouth! You have no right to-"
"Excuse me but, could you break it up ladies?" Jay interrupted.
The trio turned to him, and Ivy batted her eyelashes. "Well who might you be?" She asked with fake politeness.
"I'm Jay, and I'd appreciate if if you didn't call Aphmau here an ugly potato." He said, his barely controlled anger obvious.

"Well Jay, you know, you really shouldn't hang out with these kinds of people." Lillian said, wrinkling her nose in my face.
"Actually, I think I know what kind of people I shouldn't be with." He growled, raising his hook defensively.
All three girls stepped back.
Sasha sent me a baleful glance. "Next time, you won't have your pretty little boyfriend to protect you Aphmoo. Watch out." Her purple eyes glittered maliciously.
"He's not my boyfriend!" I shot back.
"Whatever."
The three of them stalked off and I took a deep breath. "They get on my nerves."
"I can tell. Hey, I found this at one of the tables. Take a look."
He handed me a colorful foldable. Opening it, I read.
Dear Residents of (Insert Name of where ever Mystreet is),
I am pleased to of inform you that we will be holding a Halloween (pretends it's October) prom/party at 405 Homer Street 8940 (This is not a real address, its made up) from 5:00 to 9:00pm. Invite your friends! We'll also holding a talent show during the party! Good luck fellow contestants!
Sincerely,
Fawn Dables
"Hey, I know this may be a bit hard for you, but while I was gone all those years, I wrote a song I never got to really look into. It reminded me of your past. If its too much, I'll understand. I was thinking we could sing it as a duet for the talent show." Jay explained.
"What's the song about?" I asked.
"I'll show you later. Right now, I could use a good walk in the park."
"Agreed."
We walked silently for a few more moments.
"Jay, answer honestly. Where have you been these past years?" I asked, licking my icecream.
He looked away. "It was too unbearable to stay here anymore. All the memories kept coming back, haunting me every time I slept. Finally, I got so tired of it I couldn't stand it. I left to travel all across. I'd already lost everything so what was there to live for?"
"You mean you were considering suicide?" I exclaimed, shocked Jay would consider something like that.

He sighed sadly. "I was." He admitted. "But then I remembered you. You were still so new to the job. I couldn't leave you alone to suffer."
I was silent for the count of 3. "Thank you Jay. I mean it. I don't know what I would've done without you."
There was a few more moments of somber silence.
"Remember the time we first met?" He joked, trying to lighten the mood.
I rolled my eyes. "You almost killed me!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did no-"
An outraged yelp came from the bushes behind us.
We both froze.
"Someone's been following us." Jay scowled, narrowing his eyes at the bush.
"More like some people." I groaned, knowing who it was.
"Guys, you can come out now. We know you're there." I called.
Slowly, Laurence, Garroth, Dante, Travis, Aaron, Katelyn, and Kawaii-Chan came out. Some from behind the trees and bushes, others from the nearby stores. Lucinda simply popped out from thin air.
I crossed my arms angrily. The nerve of them!
"What were you guys doing??!" I demanded.
"We were checking on you." Laurence said, trying to defend himself.
"By stalking me all the way?" I shrieked indignantly.
"Some friends you have Aphie." Jay scoffed sarcastically.
Katelyn glowered. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Real friends would respect another's privacy rather than follow them!" Jay snarked.
"We were worried about her." Garroth protested.
"Garroth~Kun is right!" Kawaii-Chan squeaked.
Before either of us could respond, Aaron asked, "What do you mean, Jay almost killed you when you first met?"
I thought back to that moment.
*Flashback*
I shivered as I walked back from home. Today was the first day I worked at Freddy's and it had changed me. I was so cornered in my thoughts, I didn't noticed the man skating toward me.
"Watch out!" He cried, but it was too late.
We collided, and I crashed onto the road.
Blinding lights were coming my way, a car's horn honking desperately.
I closed my eyes, waiting for the crash when a firm grip dragged me out of the way.
A man with black midnight hair, and amber eyes glowing eerily in the dark helped me to my feet.
"I'm so so sorry. Are you okay?"
"F...f...fine." I muttered.
He scanned me up and down but froze when he saw my guard outfit.
"Do you work at Fazbear's Pizzeria?" He demanded.
"Wha-?"
"Do you?"
"So what if I do?!" I screamed at him.
To my surprise, he smiled. Not the happy kind, the melancholy kind.
He slipped a piece of paper into my palm and said, "Careful of Foxy. He likes to use the vents."
"Wait, yo-" But before I could finish he zoomed off.
I glanced at the scrawled numbers in my hand and clenched them in my fist. I would get answers.
*Flashback Ends*
"Aphmau?" Jay asked, waving his hook in front of my face.
"Huh? Whaa-? Oh."
I noticed my friends still staring at me, waiting for an answer.
"Its a long story." I said simply.
"We got time." Garroth insisted.
"Uhh guys? Maybe we should just leave them alone."
To say I was shocked is an understatement.
In fact, everyone turned to the speaker in disbelief.
"Travis? You're standing up for them?' Dante said, clearly upset.
Travis shrugged. "It's not our business. We all have secrets."
That coming from Travis was flabbergasting.
"He's right." Jay noted. "Come on Aph, I wanna show you something." He started to pull me away, but friends were not gonna give up.
"Aphmau, what did he mean by 'you were so new to the job?' "
"Where do you work at?"
"How do-"
"SILENCE!" I bellowed, effectively shutting them up.
"Look, its nice you guys are looking out for me, but I can take care of myself. I however DO NOT, appreciate being stalked/followed. I thought you guys were better than this!" I chastised.
"Aph." Jay's voice sounded worried. "We really should go." I looked at the setting sun and cursed.
"Your right. We'll settle this later." I said, giving them the evil eye.
Both me and Jay stormed off leaving the rest of my 'friends' utterly confused.

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
