《Hidden》Chapter 59

David's vitals had been turned off remotely, his whole face was now the only thing remaining and his heart rate, vitals, and other information was gone.
Emma felt the colour drain from her face. She couldn't take it, She needed to leave. Getting up from her chair, she walked out and behind the chairs, a few elites giving her strange looks, but all understanding what had just happened. The previous power in her body was lost, forever gone and buried in her jumbled memories.
The voice said, accumulating from her negative thoughts. Emma tried to shake it out of her head, she didn't want to listen to anyone now, she wanted to focus on nothing. She walked lazily though the hallways and into the dragon stables, where she knew Aqua wouldn't be the same. She wouldn't ever be the same, and if she was lucky, she would have passed like her rider.
She carefully opened the door and walked in, looking at the dragon that was laying on the floor. Its breathing was shakey, and it's body was losing colour.
"Oh Aqua...." Emma whispered, approaching the dragon. Her hand touched the dragons soft fur, and it was impossibly cold. The dragon cooed, turning it's muzzle to face Emma. The dragon found comfort in the girls eyes, getting lost in each other's minds. Emma sat on the ground, letting the dragon place it's heavy head on her lap. The girl brushed the freathers on the dragons head softly, letting the feeling of Aqua, and David seep into her.
"How I wish I could have helped." Emma said with tears forming. The dragon coped and chirped, as if trying to tell Emma something.
The voice said with irritation. Emma once again ignored it, not listening to her negative thoughts opinion. The voice let out a sigh of irritation before trying again, using a different approach.

The voice calmed down, speaking to Emma in a calm tone now. The girl was torn, but listened to the voice. She immediately dropped her mental berrier, and almost regretted it as the calls of the past yelled out to her. So many cries of help had overwhelmed the girl, and had made the girl lay on the ground.
The voice said, but it sounded like he was holding in His temper. Emma fumed as she thought of the voice touching David, or the elites. They would strain him of magic, use of for themselves. And it wasn't fair to him, he didn't want to go to the fight in the first place.
"In such an awful friend." Emma said, feeding her negative thoughts.
"You were always my precious ones friend Emma. Ever since day one where you helped him on his first day, he has been entranced with your kindness, your mystifying aura. You haven't been awful at all." Aqua said quietly. She was weak, but she wasn't dead, nor was she healthy. Emma hugged the dragon as best she could, giving the large creature comfort as it purred. The girl could feel her warm necklace touching her skin, and she clutched it, her precious dragon carving warm to her touch.
Aqua looked at the necklace with curiosity, and Emma smiled, patting the dragons head. Dragons were such magnificent creatures, they came in so many shapes, species, and sizes. Eveyone had a dragon for every mage that was born. Emma let her necklace dangle, not once remembering her life without it around her neck.
Heck, she even took it in the showers with her.
"Ah, the legend. Truly an old tale that is dragons remember." Aqua said, as if thinking back in time. "I would show you, but I'm afraid I'm a bit too weak Right now."

"Oh Aqua, isn't there something I can do? To save you and David?" Emma asked with saddness in her voice, causing it to crack up again. The Dragon nuzzled the girl, it's body growing weaker by the second. The girl felt a surge of emotions flow through her veins. It hummed as it directed itself to the Dragon, out of Emma's body into the dragons. True emotion sent a calm feeling through both of them, and Emma heard cheers erupt outside the academy, an alarm going off as some screamed at the sight.
The two ignored it though, as they focused on the energy coursing through them. Emma felt a gash form on her chest. She knew what she was doing, but felt guilt sprout from Aqua.
"Don't be sorry, I willingly to this for you, and your riders sake." Emma smiled, telling the truth. Aqua nodded, furthering the spell. The gash grew larger in size, and Emma gasped as she felt a few shocks of pain rack of her spine. Aqua stopped, finishing the spell and licking Emma's new would. With the water dragons saliva, the healing process was does up rapidly, and the gash disappeared with no scar, no leftover blood, not anything but a tingle of where it used to remain.
Aqua relaxed, along with Emma. The voices upstairs grew louder as a new victor was announced, and the blue Dragon smiled. She extended her wing, carefully bringing Emma closer to her. The Dragon wrapped its body around the btunette, for she knew what she was, yet was not afraid.
Emma carresed the dragons neck, causing the large Dragon to purr again. Many other jealous dragons watched as the two shared affection. Emma gave them curious glances, sensing jealousy from them.
'Their owners don't tend to spend time with them, and seeing us, they want the same. These poor dragons want love, not to be just to be trained until death.' Aqua spoke with a hint of sadness. Emma carefully got up, heading to the first Dragon she saw. She began to caress it's face, making the Drago look at the girl in shock.
It was a long process, but equally loving the dragons Was worth it.
