《Hidden》Chapter 66

The few patches of sleep didn't last long for Emma, for the sounds of shuffling of heavy boots was making it's way closer to the girl. The grey eyed girl stood and dusted her clothing off, prepared to meet the one in a haste. The familiar red cloak towered above Emma, the fiery aura pouring off the man underneath the cloth ever more intense. But he scared Emma no longer, for the man underneath was no more of a coward than a cat with water.
"You did well to knock me out so fast, but that will be the last blow you will ever make." The threat was spat out of the elites words, a smile stretched across his face, setting off Emma's nerves. The man had been humiliated in front of a crowd that had no idea what happened, and assumptions were dangerous, especially if they spread and turned into rumors. Emma looked into the dark pits of the man's eyes, sending a eye chilling glare at the elite. She wasn't ready to go without a fight, and I fight is what she would give him. Looking around the cell, the previous guard had left to let the elite scold her without a presence nearby, and that made things much easier for the girl
"So you're going to kill me then? Just because your sparky ass couldn't handle being knocked out? You're an elite with a stolen power, a power that you've had for who knows for how long! Most of the other elites would die to watch me do it over and over again! You tore their lives apart!" Emma said with a building rage. She crashed in the bars right in front of the thief. He had stolen so much, so many people resided in the elite that tortured multiple people, just for a stupid magic trick.

The fire elite chuckled, a dark noise growling from him. He was a harsh man, one full of greed and hatred. "Well, I can't have people I cannot control to be elites, so I might as well train them when their young."
Emma growled in frustration if she couldn't get through with this man, then she would rather ask questions herself. "Those dark monsters, the ones that turn when they implement the different magic in their bodies, what are they? And why do they turn?"
The fire elite looked shocked, but nothing familiar shone in his eyes. If this man, the one that knew almost everything in the country, didn't know a thing about these monsters attacking villages and academy's, was he really that smart? "You mean you have no knowledge of these creatures?"
"I was fucking knocked out for half of the time we saw them. If I had any clue why would I ask you?" Emma said sarcastically. She was a bit upset that he had no news of the creatures and their origins, in fact, he knew nothing about them but the fact that they had been attacking the schools. This man was truly an idiot. And like they needed any more of those in the world.
The fire elite let out a sigh, not caring for this conversation. It had been five days since Emma came here, and she was already craving the bulling back home, if it meant getting away from this oblivious man. The fire elite was about to respond, but a rumble shook the floors for a few seconds, debris falling from the old roof. The elite was distracted, and didn't notice Emma's hand grabbing onto the hood of his cloak. She yanked her arm back, slamming the man's head right against the bars. He stood and tried to take in what happened, but didn't manage five seconds before Emma yanked her arm back again, successfully knocking out the fire elite again for a second time.

Emma unlocked her cell and dragged him inside, locking the elite in the cell where hopefully he would rot alone like he deserved to.
"Your finally where you belong." Emma spat, grabbing the keys and tossing them into a cell farther away. Satisfied, the girl dashed up stairs and past many running people. The rumble returned and the ground shook, more people scared for their lives. Dragons flew around outsidelooking for their riders as people rushed out the doors, looking for a way to escape. Emma climbed a statue on the side of the crowd of rushing people, looking for her friends, they came first before her own life. The top hat wearing man wasn't rushing out the academy like She had hoped, but was rather guiding the stragglers out of the building and to safety.
The man's eyes spotted Emma and he rushed over to her, the grey eyed girl climbing down to meet him in excitement. Headmaster embraced the young girl, relief spreading all over his face. Emma had tears of joy and sorrow fall from her cheeks, her happiness to see him after all this time was a great relief to her. The two didn't let let go for a while, despite the danger that was closing in on them.
"Emma dear, you must find David and her out of here. Those creatures are here and they are unstoppable, they'll kill us all." He said with worry. Emma shook her head, fully knowing that if she left him now, he might not make it.
"Come with us, we can get out together!" Emma pleaded. The building was crumbling, and Dragon and human cries echoed in the girls ears. The headmaster shook his head, pointing to the panicking crowd.
"They need me, as David needs you, now go." He said, gently pushing Emma's back, the headmaster slipped something into her pocket without her noticing.
Just in case.
The girl was reluctant, stubborn if you will, for she didn't want to leave, she wanted to make sure he would be safe. She looked back once and saw pride in his eyes before he turned to help the panicing crowd, the two other headmaster joining him to help.
Emma focused on finding David, he had to be somewhere nearby.

I don't update it as often as I should, but there is a fair amount of content there already. It also contains a page with all the fanart, fan translations, audio books and the like - you can reach it directly by clicking this link. I have a patreon account for those kind people that want to give me money. It also contains info for those who want to donate via paypal. The story was originally posted on fictionpress, back in 2011. When I reached chapter 91, I started uploading the story to RoyalRoad, one chapter per day. The story will continue to be updated on fictionpress as well as here, and can be reached by clicking on this link if somebody is interested, though at this point there is nothing there that isn't also on RoyalRoad. ********************************** The cover you see on the side has been made by a fellow RoyalRoad user Sydorow. A Soul's Wish
Hey everyone! Just a heads up. I am adding the Traumatising content tag because some parts might be considered as, well, traumatising. I want to point out though, it is not my aim to make a story that focuses on this aspect. Yuki is a college freshman that has been pulled into a fantasy world full of magic and monsters. Without any special talents, at level one, and with only a mere wisp as a companion he will need to figure out how to survive in the hostile environment. As he grows stronger and travels across this new world, he will find friends, make enemies, learn betrayal, overcome obstacles and grow into a hero. Hopefully. His goal? To save a princess, of course. A classic adventure fantasy story set in another world. Cover by the lovely Sara Lucasi Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/saralucasi/
