《Cupid's Potion》Chapter 43: An Explanation

Both Saiki and I arrive towards the hotel and head to our room. Unlocking the entrance we both went to our beds and dropped dead on our assigned mattresses, falling into deep slumber.
Hours later I was awaken by a knock at out hotel door. I grumpily get up from my comfortable bed and walk towards the door while not caring about my horrible appearance.
"What the heck do you want?" I ask once opening the door. The bright hallway light of the hotel blinded me and I had to rub my eyes to adjust them.
"Yo, you look like a mess. What the hell happened to you, wait let me guess was it Saiki?" The purple haired hormonal teen says while standing at my door.
"What no, we just came back from saving the world." I say while covering my mouth from an upcoming yawn. Toritsuka just stood there stunned.
"Say what now?" His right purple brow raised in question.
"It's a long story, anyways not trying to be rude why are you here?" I lean on the doorway with my arms crossed.
"Well you see the groups been wondering where you guys have been. You guys didn't appear at breakfast or lunch." He listed the meetings we missed in his hand.
"Sorry to worry you, it's just we've been through a lot and nows really not the time to pester us." I yawn once again and he smiles anxiously.
"Well you see, the rest of the group is going to come in about 10 minutes," he scratches the back of his neck sheepishly. "And I came here to warn you before hand."
I let out a groan from the news, I get that they are worried but it's most likely Teruhashi insisted and now they're checking up on us. Though it can't be helped friends worry about each other.
"Alright, but come in and help me tidy up the room." I motion him to come inside and he nods.
I'm glad I slept in my own bed last night, if Tori were to see an unmade bed and a well kept bed he would've teased the living cells of my body out of me.
Grabbing a pillow on the small couch that was in front of the TV I threw it towards Saiki so he would wake up.
Unsurprisingly the small purple pillow floated a few centimeters away from his face before it would actually hit him.
"Wake up Saiki," I mumble under my breath un-enthusiastically.
"I'm up," He grumbles and looks at me with tired eyes.
I point with my eyes to Toritsuka who was about to pull the curtains open.
In one swift motion the curtains were open and in came the afternoon rays of the sun that shined right into our eyes.

"Ugh Toritsuka, a warning next time!" I groan from the unexpected bright light and rub my sore eyes with Saiki doing the same.
"Hehe my bad, but you guys need to bask in the light for a bit." He chuckles and goes towards the small kitchen to prepare some tea.
While Toritsuka makes the tea I start to make my bed. Quickly getting that done I go to the bathroom to tidy up my appearance.
I fix up and change from the bloodstained clothes.
I need to throw these out once I get home.
Going back out of the bathroom I place the clothes in a trash bag and in my suitcase.
Making sure everything is clean I look at Saiki who still looks slightly tired.
"We can cancel on them if you aren't up for it," I pat his shoulder comfortingly but he nods in disagreement.
"I'll be fine," He gently smiles and heads towards Toritsuka.
I smile at the two, but my smile was cut short when I heard a rapid knock on the door.
I let out a sigh and prepare myself for the questions. Heading towards the brown door I turn the nob and greet my group of friends.
"Hey guys!" Motioning them to enter they all step inside, I usher them to sit down and I head toward the kitchen where Saiki and Tori are to grab something for the group to eat.
Heading back I place the stuff down while Tori gives each of them a cup of tea.
We all sit down while awaiting the expected questions since we're both psychics we already know what they're going to ask.
"Sorry to barge in, but we were worried about you guys. You guys didn't show up for breakfast and lunch." Hairo looks at us with slight concern.
"Sorry to worry you Hairo, Saiki and I accidentally played video games till dawn." Scratching the back of my neck to seem more sheepish for my facade.
"We didn't mean to worry any of you, we're both too competitive and didn't sleep till we broke the tie." I let out a chuckle.
This is my best excuse, París was basically asleep long enough for the next day to seem normal. Got to admit Apollo's plan was well thought out when he was evil.
"I understand, but next time don't be so careless about your health and get some rest early!" The red-headed-porcupine scolds us lightly.
"It won't happen again besides we still have a few days left. Wouldn't want to ruin the chance of exploring!" Gleefully smiling at all of them they nod and continue their chatter.
An hour passes and we all agree to walk to the firework show that's happening in a few hours. The next day we will do one last activity, pack up and head home.

Time passes by and we all decide to get ready for dinner. One by one they all left the room and towards their hotel rooms which leaves just Saiki and I in ours.
"I'm so glad life is back to normal." I stretch out my muscles and grab an outfit to wear for dinner.
"You're right about that." He pats me on my head gently and walks to the bathroom to change.
"Hey there y/n!" A cheery voice causes me to jump slightly from the startle. Turning around I spot my father and his wife, my mother, beside him.
"Oh hey Fran, Amorette," I bow my head slightly as a greeting and put on my shoes for the outing were about to go with the group.
"Please call me Amor, or possibly mother?" Amorette nervously fidgets with her hand.
"Alright Amor," I give her a her a kind smile but proceed to direct my attention to my father, not acknowledging the sad realization appear on her face.
"Why are you guys here?" Heading towards the couch I sit down and motion them to sit on the opposite side of me.
"Well we wanted to make sure you and Saiki are doing alright. We did just come back from a harsh battle." Fran says while taking a seat across from me, he crosses his right leg over his left.
I nod, understanding his concern, "Well don't worry so much, we're frighten yes but we're both alright now." I smile softly but deep inside I was still slightly afraid. Occasionally some small flashes of the past events still replay in my mind.
"Alright, but if you need anything don't hesitate to call." He makes a calling motion with his hand and giggles.
I smile at his caring nature, "thanks Fran, and Amor I hope we get to know each other more!" I smile happily.
"I hope to as well love," she flashes me a bright smile.
"Now both Saiki and I need to head out. We planned to meet up with the rest of the friend group for a firework show." I stand up from the couch and they both nod.
"Hey you ready?" Saiki appears out of the bathroom in a new set of clothes and I nod.
"Yep, bye guys we'll talk later!" I wave bye and Saiki bows slightly as a departure.
"Stay safe you two!" Fran calls out while Amor waves bye.
We both nod and head out the hotel room with the spare key.
"How are you feeling?" Saiki gives a side glance towards my direction.
"I'm feeling alright, slightly startled by last night but I'm doing better." I muster up a convincible fake smile.
"That's not what I meant," he places his hand on my shoulder gently and makes me face him. "How are you feeling about your mother?" He gives me a slight stern but caring look through his green shades.
"Oh that," I let out sigh I've been holding in. "I'm not sure how to feel, to be honest I should be happy. I have a family, but she's the same woman who tried to take away my one family member that I had that was alive." I look down at the carpeted floor, the fancy looking pattern was mesmerizing and distractive enough from Saikis burning gaze.
No words seem to escape Saikis mouth into a telepathic sentence at the moment so he did what he thought was appropriate.
I felt the sudden pressure of an arm wrap around my shoulders and I was pulled into the side of Saikis body, a side hug to be exact.
"Huh?" I look up questionably at the sudden behavior of strawberry.
"I know you may be confused right now, but in my opinion I think you should give her a chance. I can tell she loves you." He rubs my head gently which causes me to blush slightly from how caring he's being.
"I guess you're right I'll try and give her another chance, but how are you so sure she loves me?" I look into his eyes and his face turns slightly pink.
"Because she gives you that same look I give you." He immediately turns away with his cheeks turning completely red.
"Oh she does?" I look down in thought but then I processed the rest of his sentence.
A blush just like Saiki's arouse on my own face. "Wait are you implying that you-" A hand was lightly placed over my mouth to stop me from talking
"Please don't remind me of what I said, come on the group is probably already waiting." He let's go of me and walks off ahead of me.
"Aww is someone getting soft? Who knew the human strawberry could actually turn red just like the fruit!" I tease the pink-haired teen and I could spot the tips of his ears turn even redder.
"S-shut up." He grumbles under his breath as I catch up with him at the elevator doors, we both get inside and head down to the group.
