《second best // dnf》21. Finally Coming Home

"Good," said the nurse, "I'm happy to tell you that tomorrow morning, we are allowing you to go home, you will have to come in for regular check ups and you are not allowed to travel for six to eight weeks, but other than that, you're free to go!"
A massive grin grew on George's face, the nurse left the room.
I exclaimed with my arms in the air, "George! You're coming home!"
The nurse removed the rest of the machinery George was hooked up to and handed me some dressings and bandages and a instruction book on how to use them. George couldn't walk without crutches because of his leg, so I helped him hobble out of the room. The two of us met Sapnap in the car and we started the drive home.
"I can't wait to get back!" George exclaimed.
Sapnap was driving and I was in the back with George. Ezra had left the hospital early this morning to go to his hotel which was around seven minutes away from my house. He was coming round later to visit George.
We arrived outside of the house, night was on its way and a bitter coldness lingered in the air. I climbed out of the car, so did Sapnap, but before George could get out, Sapap sprinted to his side of the door and scooped George out. He dangled from Sapnap's grip as he carried George into the house, laughing as I joined them inside.
Sapnap rested George down on the sofa.
"Just because my leg is broken doesn't mean I can't walk!" George scowled.
"I knowwww," Sapnap drawled, "But it's fun to carry you around. Just see me as your personal carrier!" he said with a curtsy.
I propped George's crutches up against the wall. He had fallen asleep, his head resting on Sapnap's shoulder.

"God this boy sleeps a lot!" Sapnap, laughed.

Three hours later, I gently shook George awake. I decided to let him sleep for a while but Ezra was at the front door wanting to see him.
He blinked an eye open, tiredly.
"Hey," I said softly.
"Hello there," he murmured.
Cringing internally as I spoke, I said, "Ezra is here to see you."
He smiled weakly, heaved himself up off of the sofa and headed to the door whilst I went in the other direction to go stream with Sapnap.
I looked behind me as I heard someone yell, "George!" and then saw George jump into Ezra's open arms. Envy bubbled in my stomach as they pushed their lips together, George wrapping his legs around his waist as Ezra lifted him off of the ground. I scoffed and left the room.
Sapnap and I set up our PCs in the recording room. We were going live on my channel and were planning on just chilling on the SMP with a few friends.
A few minutes into our stream, I heard muffled shouting coming from downstairs, then a loud thump. Raising an eyebrow, I silently mouthed to Sapnap, "Did you hear that?"
He nodded, with concern washed over his face. Suddenly, the front door slammed shut before I could hear footsteps coming up the stairs.
The door slowly creaked open to reveal George behind it. My eyes widened; his cheeks were blotchy and streaked, his eyes were red and puffy and his bottom lip was quivering ever so slightly. I gasped as a trickle of blood escaped from his mouth.
I immediately muted the stream and rushed over to him.
"George have you been crying?" I asked desperately, cupping his cheeks with my palms and tilting his head to the side to examine his face.

"W-what are you talking about?" he chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck, "Of course not!"
I used my thumb to wipe the blood from his chin. His eyes widened to size of saucers as he saw the crimson smear on my finger.
"George is everything okay?" I said slowly, studying his facial expressions, I gestured to the blood on my hand, "Did Ezra do this to you? Is he hurting you?"
"No, Ezra is my boyfriend, why would he hurt me?" George replied, running a shaky hand through his dark hair, "I promise I'm okay Dream," he said with an uncertain smile.

For the next couple of hours, off stream, we all were messing around in the server. TommyInnit, Tubbo and Ranboo were all on the server too and they started tearing down the new house that George had built for himself.
"WHAT THE HECK?!" George yelled and threw himself back in his chair, "They destroyed my house!"
"Those little bitches," Sapnap scolded, "George may I have permission to murder their asses?"
George yawned, "Do it tomorrow, I'm tired,"
So, Sapnap scooped him up but George was too tired to fight back. A slight smile curved onto my face as I watched him relax down in Sapnap's arms. I followed them upstairs. Sapnap placed him in his bed and he fell immediately unconsious, Sapnap then went to leave to room, but hesitated when he saw me gazing at George.
"Sapnap."
"Yeah?"
"D'you think Ezra is-"
"No Dream I don't. Ezra is a great guy and loves George as much as we do, just let the two of them be happy."
I nodded defeatedly and trailed out of the room, suddenly being startled as my phone vibrated in my pocket: it was BadBoyHalo.
"Hey Bad, what's up?" I asked.
"Hi Dream! I was wondering if you wanna go out for coffee tomorrow morning?"
"Oh um yeah I'd love to yeah!"
"Okay, great i'll text you the details. See you at 7am!"
He hung up the phone. I rolled into bed, I'd better have a good night sleep if I'm waking up at seven to meet Bad.

Note: I write with the Dark Theme setting, so if I make a colour mistake it’s probably why. I also strangely prefer using the Imperial System to measure Height, while I use the Metric System for almost everything else (Canadian by the way).
