《second best // dnf》42. Until we meet again

We got off of the ferris wheel and started heading back home. With his fingers entwined in mine, he said to me, "I have to say, no better way to spend my last day in America than with you."

"Please don't gooo!" I whined, clinging onto George's waist.
George rolled his eyes, "I'm sure you'll get over it."
"But I wontttt! Don't go Georgie!"
He spun around, wrapping his hands around my neck and he claimed, "You know I have to go Dream... and don't call me Georgie."
Sapnap entered the room and fake gagged at the sight us, then he asked, "You guys ready to go?"
We both nodded, sadly. I grabbed George's suitcase and dragged it downstairs and threw it in the trunk of the car. The three of climbed in, fastening our seatbelts and started making our way to the airport. George tugged his phone from his pocket and then took out mine, he clicked around for a few minutes. Returning my phone, he explained, "I set up Find My Iphone so you know when I land."
"Alright, we here!" Sapnap announced. We got out of the car in complete silence and made our way into the airport. I held George's hand as we went inside. The place was heaving with people, pushing and shoving past each other in a hurry to catch their flights. The flight that George was taking left in an hour and by the time he went through security and baggage we'd only have around fifteen minutes left together.
The next forty-five minutes whizzed by. Before we knew it, we were waiting for George to get on the plane.
We sat down on some uncomfortable chairs. George was sat on my lap; he didn't want to, but I forced him. My arms were coiled around his waist and I rested my chin on his head.

"George I'm gonna miss you!" I pouted.
"Dream, we still have ten minutes left together!" he chuckled.
"Not even all the time in the world would be enough for me."
Sapnap scoffed playfully, "Cheesy but okay."
An announcement was made over the loud speakers of the airport: "Can all passengers on the flight from Florida to London please start boarding now, you're flight is leaving early."
"I guess I should go," George mumbled.
I chewed my lip, fighting back my tears. He stood up and came into my open eyes, burying his face into my chest. My thumb stroked the hair on the back of his head.
When he pulled away from me he sighed heavily and looked me dead in the eyes.
"Dream," he said.
"Yeah."
"When I'm gone, don't miss me too much, I'll facetime you everyday okay? Make sure you have fun with Sapnap until he leaves. Remember to eat and drink and I'll come and visit as soon as I can."
Before I could stop myself, tears started sliding down my cheeks.
Sapnap groaned, "Nooo, you guys are gonna make me cryyy!"
George was hugging me again, and I embraced him like I was never ever going to let go.
"I guess I should go now," He repeated.
So, he said goodbye to Sapnap and gave him a quick hug. With one last wave, he started making his way into the queue to get on the plane. I smeared away the wetness from my eyes and forced myself to smile as he made his way onto the plane.
Suddenly, he shoved a few people out of the way and sprinted towards us, with tears streaming down his face.
"I promised myself I wouldn't cry but I can't help it!" he said to me as he wrapped himself up in my arms.

I too was still crying and I could feel dampness on my shirt from George's tears. I cupped his cheeks and I choked out, "I'm going to miss you more than anything!"
"Me too, Dream."
I planted a kiss on his forehead, my hands still pressed to his cheeks. I brushed away his tears, hugged him one last time and whispered, "I love you so much George."
We were both properly crying now, holding each other as we trembled. The speakers announced, "This is the final call for the flight from Florida to London, please board now."
"C'mon!" I chuckled but with a tone of sadness in my voice, "You have to go before you miss the flight!"
"Don't ever forget how much I love you Dream!" he yelled as he hurried to the gate waving goodbye frantically, as he ran. With droplets still falling down my face and sobbed, "Goodbye George, until we meet again."

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
