《One-Eighty || Taekook》Chapter 20

A soft sigh left Taehyung's mouth as he was waiting for the coffeemachine to fill the cup he had placed under it. Currently the brown haired boy was making a cup of coffee for everyone who was attending Jungkook's meeting. Even though the young lawyer still felt extremely uncomfortable around all these powerfull men the fact that Jimin was present too gave him a somewhat safe feeling.
Carefully the brown haired boy placed the hot steaming cups of brown liquid onto the tray which Jungkook had suggested him to use and he quickly began to walk towards were everyone was sitting. All the other boys were currently seated around a big table while waiting for Taehyung to serve them their coffee. After that the meeting would finally start.
Soon the young lawyer reached the big wooden table and began to serve everyone their well deserved hot coffee. A nervous feeling quickly began to spread inside his chest upon noticing one of the boy's intensely staring at him. The boy had purple hair and big plump lips and eventhough his face was supporting a friendly smile Taehyung didn't dare to look back at him. This boy was one of Jungkook's most important men, one wrong look and Taehyung would be screwed so badly.
"Well, shall we start?" Jungkook said as soon as Taehyung was done with his task. The brown haired boy quickly went to stand next to the coffee machine again. The ravenette had told him before the meeting had even started that the brown haired boy had to keep filling everyone's cup of coffee and thus the boy was now waiting for someone to finish their drink.
"Yeah let's start." Namjoon said while a big grin broke out on the boy's face. The blue haired boy slowly began to reach for his cup of steaming brown liquid before softly blowing on it in order to cool it down a bit.
"Did you get the information about Sehun?" Yoongi asked his raven haired boss while looking at him with great intrest on his face. Jungkook visibly gritted his teeth upon hearing his older brother's name and he slowly closed his eyes in order to calm down a bit.
"I've spoken to Kai while I was in prison." The mafia boss spoke calmly once he had cooled down again. The ravenette was slowly looking around the table to make sure everyone was listening to what he had to say. The information he had gotten was very important and thus he needed everyone to listen as carefully as possible.

"Well, I've seen his face after you spoke with him Kook, or shall I say after you beat him up?" Taemin spoke while a small smile began to break out on his face. Soft laughs erupted around the whole table and everyone clearly found it very amusing how their boss had beaten up someone who had betrayed them. Kai had once been part of the group who are currently sitting around the wooden table. The boy belonged to Jungkook's closest men and yet he had decided to betray them all by following Sehun. The fact that Jungkook had now beaten him up was exactly what he deserved, if not worse.
Soon everyone became quiet again and a sly smirk began to form on the ex-prisoner's face. "After that fucker finally decided to talk he told me an awfull lot about where we can find my traitor of a brother." The raven haired boy said before looking around the table once again. A statisfied look could be seen on all the boys faces and Hoseok began to clap enthousaistically.
"Well go on, when are we going to pay him a little surprise visit?" The red head spoke, enthousiasm clearly lacing his voice. A small smile began to make it's way upon Taehyung's face once he noticed the bright energy which was surrounding this red haired boy completely. It didn't matter that this boy was part of a mafia, he literally had the power to make people smile without even trying.
"Kai told me about an old abandoned factory just outside of Seoul." The ravenette continued before grabbing his cup of coffee and softly blowing on it. White steam came off of the brown liquid immediately and slowly the ravenette put the cup back down again since it was still too hot to drink. "Apparently it's supossed to look abandoned and covered in ivy." The mafia boss finished.
"Namjoon I want you to check our database for any building matching with that description, Yoongi I want you to check in with our allies and ask them if they know a building which fits that description and Hoseok I want you to get as many people ready as possible to infiltrate the place as soon as we find it." The ravenette oppered and immediately everyone began to nod enthousiastically. The whole group was clearly thrilled to finally get a bit closer to getting their revenge on the oldest Jeon brother.
"Now I would like to be filled in with everything that happened while I was away." The mafia boss said before leaning to the back of his seat and waiting for someone to start talking. Immediately Taemin stood up from his seat while holding some papers. "I got these for you, read them and you'll be completely filled in about the financial part of Jeon Coorporation." The blonde boy said before sliding the papers into the direction of his boss. Jungkook softly nodded before accepting the papers and turning his head to look at Taehyung.

A nervous feeling immediately began to spread throughout the brown haired boy's whole chest upon noticing the ravenette staring at him. If Jungkook was staring that either meant he was in trouble or that the mafia boss wanted him to do something.
"Taehyung put these on my desk." The raven haired boy said before looking towards all the other boys again. As if on cue the brown haired boy speed walked towards Jungkook and picked up the papers which were laying in front of him. Quickly the boy began to walk towards where the ravenette's desk was standing and he quickly put the papers on it while doing his best not to look at the black numbers and letters which were printed on it. It was best if he knew as little as possible, that way the brown haired boy couldn't tell anyone anything if they ever asked him. That way Jungkook wouldn't come after him for telling things he shouldn't have.
"Kook I have been wondering this for quite some time now." The purple haired boy who had beed quiet this whole time suddenly said while putting on of his elbows on the table and resting his head in his hand. The boy looked like he was bored to death and a big yawn suddenly left his mouth. "Why did you bring Taehyung here in the first place?" Jin asked, a questioning tone lacing his voice.
A nervous feeling began to spread through Taehyung's chest once again and his heart began to beat faster. This was what he himself had been wondering too. The brown haired boy was literally good for nothing. He wasn't a skilled fighter, he knew nothing about finances or something like that and everything scared him. The only thing the young lawyer did know something of wasn't something that Jungkook could possibly value.
A shocked look quickly began to form on the ravenette's face and he looked completely lost, as if he didn't know the answer to the question Jin had just asked him himself. However the look on the mafia boss' face quickly turned into an annoyed one and he softly sighed. "Because I felt like it." Jungkook answered after a few minutes of silence.
"Sure because that's such a good reason to kidnapp someone." Jin answered while a small smirk was visible on the purple haired boy's face and an amused tone was lacing his voice. Slowly the oldest boy began to stand up from his seat and walk towards Taehyung.
The brown haired boy's eyes became big as soon as he noticed the oldest boy of them all walking towards where he was standing. "What is it that is so special about you?" The boy asked once he was standing directly in front of the kidnapped boy. Slowly he began to lift his hand and softly grabbed the brown haired boy's chin before beginning to scan Taehyung's face.
"Is it the beauty you posses?" Jin asked no one in particular before slowly pushing Taehyung's face a bit more to the left. "Or the way you act?" The purple haired boy continued while a smirk was still present on his face. "Maybe the fact that he sees a glimpse of Rosé in you?" Jin said before slowly leaning a bit closer towards Taehyung and speaking loud enough for everyone to hear what he was going to say. "Or perhaps all three?"
"ENOUGH!" Jungkook's booming voice suddenly sounded throughout the whole room. The ravenette quickly stomped towards where Taehyung and Jin were standing and he roughly shoved the two of them away from each other. A very angry look was visible on his face and he looked like he was ready to murder someone.
The mafia boss went to stand directly in front of Taehyung and locked eyes with Jin. "Meeting is over, Taehyung you'll come with me." The ex-prisoner said while still looking at Jin, his voice filled with anger. The purple haired boy however was still smirking towards his boss, clearly not the slightest bit scared with how the younger boy was looking at him. He had been pushing Jungkook's limits on purpose and Taehyung had no idea why the boy wanted to do that.
Not long after Jungkook was done talking the ravenette began to walk towards the exit of his office and Taehyung decided to quickly follow him. No way he was willing to anger the ravenette even further, that would surely become his death. Yet the brown haired boy couldn't help but ask himself the same questions Jin had just asked out loud.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
