"Mommy can I get McDonald's today?"Heaven asked me as she sat next to me playing on her iPad.
"Maybe."
"You mean 'yes'?"she said.
"Maybe."
"Maybe yes or maybe I can get McDonald's?"
"Sugar leave me alone, I said maybe."
She started sing Can't Leave 'Em alone by Ciara and I laughed.
"You are a whole character, yes you can get McDonald's today."
"Thank you sooo much mommy, I love yoooouu!!"she said while wrapping her arms around my head.
"I love you too girl."I chuckled while wrapping my arms around her.
She continued hugging my head until I remembered that I had just got my hair done.
"Okay Sugar stop!"
There was a knock at the door and I got up to get it.
"Who is that? My daddy?"she asked me like she always does and I chuckled.
Since she is smart as hell and kind of old enough to understand, I explained everything to her.
Ever since then she's just been asking me about her daddy and I've told her everything she wanted know.
No I didn't tell her that he sold drugs and all of that but I did tell her some things I thought she'd want to know.
Now that she's finally getting a chance to meet him, I'm way more excited than her.
"It might be."I said before unlocking the door and when I opened it Scarr stood there.
Something in me just wanted to pull his ass upstairs to my room and give him this wap that ain't been hit in years, but Heaven was present so I couldn't do that.
He walked in and stood by the door.
"Welp Sugar this is your daddy."I said to her and she gasped before running to him.
"Oh shit."he said while lifting her up, I'm guessing he didn't expect her to jump.
"I love you so much."she said while wrapping her arms around his head like she did mine.

"I love you more."he said while tightening his arms around her.
I was starting to get emotional so I turned around to wipe my tears.
"What's your name?"She asked him.
"Scarr."
"Alexander, baby."I said to her and she scrunched her face up.
"Which one?"
"Scarr."he said again.
"Alexander, Sugar his nickname is Scarr."
"Oh that's a weird nickname."
"You wanna know how I got it?"
"Yeah, how?"
He started explaining to her and I walked off and headed upstairs to my room.
"Mommy where you going!?"
"To go grab my purse and our stuff!"I said while turning the corner and going into my room.
I grabbed my purse and both of our bags before I headed downstairs.
"You ready?"Scarr asked me as he grabbed the bags from me and I nodded.
After I locked up the house, we headed to the same black Suburban and got inside.
Today Scarr wanted to get Heaven and I out of the house so that he could catch up with us.
He apparently had house somewhere here in Houston where he wanted us to spend a day with him at.
This really isn't for me but it's mostly for him and Heaven.
I'm just here in case they need something.
Scarr and Heaven talked the whole ride.
They both had me dying because she kept asking him stuff and he'd be so honest about everything.
Mama had to jump in the conversation when she heard the word "drugs" being discussed.
Ion know what the fuck he had going on but I wasn't having that shit.
Anyways it took us about thirty minutes to get to the house because it was so far out.
When we got there I couldn't stop staring at the damn house because it was so big.
There were a couple of other cars parked out front but not too many.
"Y'all can go inside, I'll be in there."Scarr said to me.

"Yeah mommy go inside and wait on us."she said while picking her head up off of him.
"Girl you coming too, let's go."he said to her.
"I wanna stay with my daddy right now."
"Go inside with ya mama I'll be in there."he said to her and she frowned while climbing out of the truck.
I helped her out before we headed inside.
"Hello hello."I said while walking down the long hallway and Heaven repeated after me.
When we got into the living room area, I noticed other people here.
There were people outside in the backyard and a couple of familiar faces in the kitchen.
They were just looking at me though.
There were a little bit of decorations and there were also decorations outside along with a big ass bounce house and some more nice shit.
My parents were sitting on one of the couches.
From a far I saw Shiesty standing outside holding some little girl.
There was a female standing in front of him but she was turned around so I couldn't really tell who she was.
"Okay Heaven, you remember when you were asking me where my parent's were?"I asked her as I helped her out of her coat.
"Mhm."she hummed while nodding.
"Well you're about to meet them!"
"I am!?"
"Yep, your grandparents."
"This is the best day ever mommy!!"she said and I chuckled.
We walked over to my parents and I hugged the both of them.
"Mom, dad this is Heaven. Heaven these are your grandparents, Janina and Kenneth."I introduced them to her.
"Hi grandma and grandpa!"
"Hi beautiful!!"my mama exclaimed.
"Hey papa baby, how you doing?"he asked her.
"Good. How you doing?"she asked him and I chuckled.
"I'm doing good myself."
"Oh my gosh Kenneth she has your eyes."my mama said before she started crying.
"Awww mama."I chuckled.
"Grandma why are you crying?"
"Because I'm so excited right now, I'm happy that I've gotten a chance to meet you. You're so pretty and smart, you remind me of your mommy when she was little."
"I look like my mommy when she was little?"she scrunched her face up while smiling.
"Yes you do."my mama said and Heaven started laughing.
I chuckled while shaking my head.
"Grandma I like your golden hair."Heaven said while climbing onto the couch and touching her hair.
"Heaven stop!"I said while looking back at Scarr who walked in with 30, this girl, and these two little boys.
"She's fine, Kodi."my mama said and I chuckled.
"If she starts getting on your nerves let me know."
"My granddaughter Can do whatever she wants."
"Right and ain't nobody gone stop her."my dad said.
"Well you all can watch her until I come back."I said before walking up to Scarr.
"Where can I put these bags?"I asked him.
"Where can I put these bags?"Kodi asked me as she walked up to me.
"Follow me."I said while walking down the hall and heading upstairs.
"I ain't know you had it like this."she said and I chuckled.
"Maybe if you would've stuck arou—"
"Don't start talking yo shit."she said and I chuckled.
I led her to one of the guest rooms and watched as she walked inside.
Shit we ain't gotta get back together or none but I'm most definitely hittin' that ion give a fuck what she say.
She sat the bags down and I walked out of the room.
"Scarr, wait."she said and I walked back into the room.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
"What you thanking me for?"
"Everything."she said while standing in front of me.
I gave her a hug.
"You ain't gotta thank me, thank God."I said before pulling away and we headed back downstairs.
All day I spent my time getting closer with Heaven and Kodi spent her time bonding with her parents.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
