"Mommy!!!"I heard Heaven yell from upstairs.

"Yes Sugar!?"

I heard her footsteps before she appeared on the stairs.

"I'm trying to call daddy bu- but he's not answer- answering the ph- the phone!"she cried while holding her iPad.

"Come here."I said while sitting my glass of wine down on the table.

She came over here and sat next to me on the couch.

"Wipe your face."I said and she did so.

"What did he tell you earlier when you got out of school?"I asked her.

"That he- he was gonna ca- call me when he finish work."

"Okay then so why won't you just wait until he finishes working?"

"Because I want to tell him somethING AND HE'S NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE!!!"she cried while screaming dramatically.

"Stop crying Heaven and wipe your face."I said calmly.

Her breathing became hitched and I watched as she wiped her face.

"Take a deep breath, calm down."I said while looking at her.

She did so and I told her to look at me.

"Daddy is working right now baby and I understand that you're mad because you can't call him but that's okay. You know how when mommy used to go to work at night and Mama Tee would tell you that you couldn't call me because I was working?"I asked her and she nodded.

"Okay and what did I do on some nights right after I finished working?"

"Yo- you called me."

"And how did you feel after I called you?"

"I was excited and you helped me sleep."

"See! That's the same thing daddy's gonna do and then after he does, you're gonna be excited. Am I right or wrong?"

"Right."

"Okay then baby so stop crying and just be patient. Now mommy's about to go grocery shopping so go get your shoes and put them on."I said to her and she nodded.

I grabbed my grocery list and put it inside my purse.

While I waited on Heaven, I drank the rest of my wine.

When I finished she was on her way down here.

"Got your shoes on?"

"Mhm."she hummed while nodding.

"Okay let's go."I said and we headed outside of my car.

Once we were inside and buckled up I pulled off to Target.

Heaven sang a couple of Beyoncé's songs off of her Lemonade album with me on our way there.

"Mommy why every time we come here it's a lot of white people?"Heaven asked me as I grabbed a basket.

"Heaven be quiet!"I said and she laughed.

"What? I can't ask questions?"

"You only ask those kind of questions when we're home."I said while pushing the basket to the produce department.

"Well I'm gonna ask you when we get home."

"That's not a problem."I said while putting certain fruits in the basket.

"Mommy can I drink this milk?"she asked me while running back over here with a pink of strawberry milk.

"Yeah don't drink all of it though."I said while opening it for her.

She drank some of it and gave it back to me.

I closed it before sitting it down in the basket.

We went around the whole store for about an hour before leaving and heading home.

"Mommy, daddy's calling daddy's calling!!"I heard Heaven say as I put everything away.

"Okay answer babe."I said before I heard Scarr.

"Wassup Stink!!!"he yelled.

"Hey daddy, I miss you!!"Heaven exclaimed.

"I miss you more stink. How was school?"

"Good. Daddy I made a cheese burger and pizza out of clay in art today!"

"Did you eat it!?"he asked her and I chuckled.

"No I didn't eat it."she laughed.

"Why not!?"

"I can't eat clay!"

"You right, what you eating?"

"McDonald's, mommy got me McDonald's."

"What you get from McDonald's?"

"Chicken nuggets and fries with a Barbie toy and a apples and milk."

"You gone eat all of that?"

"Yessss."

"Where ya mama at?"

"Putting up groceries over there in the kitchen."

"Gettin the groceries?"

"No! She- oh my gosh daddy look. She's putting up the groceries!"she said while putting the camera on me and I laughed.

She was getting fed up with his ass, he had to be high too because the shit he was saying wasn't making sense.

"Tell her I said to call me once she's finished."he said to Heaven.

"She hears you."

"Aight well ima let you eat, I'm finna eat too aight?"

"Okay."

"I love you."

"I love you too daddy."

"Aight I'll talk to you before you go to sleep."

"Mmk."she said before one of them hung up.

When I got finished putting everything else up, I cooked myself two pieces of salmon, white rice, and asparagus.

"Hey Makayla."my mama said as she walked into my house.

"Hi mommy."I smiled while walking up to her and hugging her.

"How are you doing?"

"I'm doing good, how about yourself?"I asked her as I walked into the kitchen and poured her a glass of water.

"I'm fine. Where's my granddaughter?"

"She just went to sleep, thank god."I said while walking out of the kitchen and going to sit in the living room with her.

"Here's your water."I smiled while sitting it in front of her.

"Thank you girl. Where's Pooh?"she asked me referring to Shiesty.

"He's actually out working at the studio I believe."I said while nodding.

"Oh okay that's good. Where are you as far as working?"

"I'm doing good, you see me."I said while looking around at the house.

"I'm glad you are and I'm glad that your business has come this far. I do have a question though."

"I have an answer."

"Have you talked to Kodi?"

"Umm no. Her baby daddy, Scarr, Lontrell's cousin did have a little get together at his house in Houston some days ago. Kodi was there but we didn't say too much to each other. I spoke to her and she did the same, that was it."

"What made you two stop being close?"

"She disappeared."

"Are you sure? It wasn't nothing else that happened between you two?"

"No nothing at all. All I know is that I woke up one morning and couldn't call my cousin."

"Mhm well do you think you two could rekindle your relationship?"

"I don't know."

"Well okay. I heard that y'all were like Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland together I hope that y'all can fix whatever happened between y'all."

"Hopefully."I shrugged while nodding.

I listened to Scarr as he sang They Don't Know by Jon B to me while we were on FaceTime.

Heaven was already in the bed and she'd already took her bath and stuff.

I did also but I was just in the bathroom curling my hair while listening to Scarr sing songs to me.

He was most definitely high earlier and he still is.

"I miss you."I said while stepping away to grab my heat protectant oil.

"I miss you more."he said while blowing me a kiss.

I blew one back before I continued doing my hair.

"When are you coming back to Houston? I ain't gone ask you again."

He started singing again and I chuckled before making a straight face.

"I'm so serious and you keep playing, make me hang up on you."

"No time soon baby."

"So when's the next times we're gonna see you?"

"In about two weeks."

"That's a long time. Are you gonna be in Atlanta the whole time?"

"Nah ima be here, in New York, and in Cali. It'll go by fast."he said and I nodded.

"Yeah after that Ima be free for another two weeks."

"Oh okay well I'm glad you're gonna be working meanwhile ima be here bored as shit while Heaven is at school."

"You don't like shopping?"he asked me and I saw a notification pop up on my phone.

He had sent me eight racks, or eight thousand dollars.

"Ooooh my gosh Alexander, why would you do that!?"

"'Cause you deserve it, I'll send you some more later."

"That's enough I don't need anymore, thank you babbbyyyy."

"I love you."

"I love you too baby."I said and it was quiet for a couple of minutes before I heard him snoring.

"Scarr!!"I exclaimed while laughing.

He ain't say none so I just hung up the phone.

At least he went to sleep before me because I had enough of him singing and shit.

After tying my hair up, making sure everything was locked up, and checking on Heaven, I got in my bed and went to sleep also.
