"Y/N, I'm home!" I heard my fiancé, Colton shout from downstairs.
Immediately, my niece Ella started to wail once more and I groaned. My sibling and their spouse were on a week-long vacation in Barcelona and I offered to watch their 4-month old daughter and insisted that they take a little break.
Gently, I lifted Ella out of the crib that Colton had set up the previous week for her and walked down the stairs carefully.
Colton noticed me trying to calm Ella down, but the things I were doing weren't working...
"Here, let me take her, Y/N." Colton held his arms out and I gently set her in his arms.
He cradled her onto his chest and he slowly swayed from side-to-side, humming "Little Things" by One Direction.
Ella's cries had slowly transformed to quiet giggles, mainly because Colton was making funny faces.
"I guess your singing put her to sleep..." I quietly chuckled, rubbing her forehead with my thumb while I kissed Colton's cheek.
"Thank you, I'll be here 24/7, hours varying on game days!" Colton sarcastically rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out at me.
"Geez, I never thought I was dating Ed Sheeran..." I shook my head, taking Ella from him and put her down to sleep.
"I can do without the sarcasm, Y/N!" Colton looked up from reading his texts and urged me to sit down next to him.
I walked over to the couch and sat down next to him. "Okay, what would you like to talk about?"
"I-uh-well, I was wondering if I could you help you out with the wedding planning?"
"Are you sure about this, Colt? It's very tedious, to be frank."

He nodded his head, looking eager to start helping.

"I say the wedding colors should be yellow, blue, and black..."
"Colton, I am not having the team colors as the wedding colors...."
"How about the blue?"
"We can have your colors as the wedding colors as long as you help me out with the table arrangement..."
Colton groaned, looking unenthusiastic before he nodded his head. I jotted down the colors for the wedding in the notebook and closed it. Grabbing the wedding planner from the coffee table, I handed it to Colton for him to read the names.
"This is going to take hours...Days even?" He looked at me like a lost puppy.
"Hey, you were the one who volunteered to be the tribute..." I joked, smiling at my "Hunger Games" joke. "I'll help you, they shouldn't be at the same table as them...."
I pointed out to Colton where we should seat the guests and being the sweet angel he was, he jotted down the notes in the planner.
We were done with all that stuff in about 2 and a half hours, and we just fell asleep on the couch, in each other's arms.
The baby monitor started to pick up Ella's cries and almost right away, I woke up, groaning out loudly. Which also woke up Colton....
"I'll go take care of Ella..." Colton mumbled as he rubbed his eyes and stretched his arms before he got off the couch and walked upstairs.
"Thank you!" I shouted after him, and he replied back to me in an instant.
"You owe me, big time!"
"I love you!"
"Once again, you owe me. And I love you too!"
