《New Life [Itachi x Reader]》18

I'm sure I've only been here a few hours, but it feels like years. My body feels heavy. The chains on my hands and feet grew heavier. The wounds on my body hurt even more. It was hard to think of a plan to escape under these circumstances.
I tightened my jaw when the room door opened. I saw a young man with glasses come in carrying a tray. Sakoda called him Itaru, right?
Itaru knelt down. "I brought you dinner" he said.
I glanced at the sandwich on the tray he had brought. Itaru took the sandwich and pointed it at my mouth. Even though I'm hungry, I refused to open my mouth. They could have put poison in my food. Itaru cut a small portion of the sandwich and put it in his mouth.
"...It's safe" he said. I stared at him for a moment, then took a bite of the sandwich. We were enveloped in an awkward silence.
"You... you better obey what master Sakoda said" Itaru said. His words were faint, but I could hear them.
I raised my eyebrows. "Or what?"
"Or he will hurt you even more" Itaru looks at me... Worriedly??
"You're my enemy. Don't look at me like that"
Itaru broke our eye contact and looked down. Now I feel bad.
I sighed. "Don't mind me. Thanks for the food"
Itaru just nodded, he gave me some water before left. I shifted slightly and closed my eyes.
"Kuromaru?"
"(Y/N)... You're not in a good shape" Kuromaru replied.
"I know... Is it a full moon tonight?"
"It's not. Even though it's a full moon, you still can't summon me. Your chakra isn't enough"
I sighed. He's right. I can't even heal the small wound on my cheek.
"What should I do, Kuromaru?"

"Be patient, (Y/N). I'm sure our pack will found us soon"

Kisame knocked on Itachi's door. "Itachi?"
"Come in. The door is unlocked" Itachi replied.
Kisame opened the door and threw a packet of bread at Itachi who was sitting on his bed. "You haven't had dinner yet"
Itachi caught it, but he had no appetite for food at the moment. "...Thank you"
Kisame took a chair and sat on it. The two men were silent for a while.
"It's my fault, Kisame" Itachi broke the silence. "She left because of me"
"What happened between you two?"
"I told her to leave the Akatsuki" Itachi lowered his voice.
Kisame frowned when he heard Itachi's words, but he was sure his friend had a reason behind it. Kisame knew, Itachi isn't a fool. He has always respected and trusted him. "Why did you tell her to leave the Akatsuki?"
"Bringing her here was a mistake. We don't deserve her here, Kisame" Itachi replied.
"You're right. She's too good for us" Kisame said. "But, she's happy to be here. Is that not enough?"
"She's in danger if she's with us" said Itachi seriously.
Kisame gave him a short laugh. "You care for her more than I thought"
Itachi turned his head. He couldn't deny it.
"About (Y/N)..."Kisame leaned back. "She is indeed in danger, but don't forget, all the membersof the Akatsuki are ready to protect her"
Itachi fell silent, thinking about Kisame's words. Kisame is right. The other members will protect (Y/N).
"Itachi... Are you sure you don't have any feelings for her?" Kisame asked.
Somehow, Itachi felt slightly embarrassed when he heard Kisame's question. He cleared his throat and shifted uncomfortably.
Inwardly, Kisame laughed seeing his friend acted like this. Itachi, who was always cold and never showed his feelings, is now in love. Kisame sure about that.

"I don't know, Kisame. I don't understand" Itachi covered his face with one hand. "When it comes to her, I get my feelings too involved. I can't think logically"
Kisame grinned. He knew (Y/N) is different from the start. "Tell her" Kisame said.
"Tell her what?"
"About your feelings" Kisame answered. "She deserves to know"
"It will only hurt her. You know Sasuke will come to me"
"If you love her, tell her. Don't passing up on an opportunity to tell her that your heart belongs to her" Kisame said genuinely. "I'll go back to my room"
Kisame left, leaving Itachi in his room. Without realizing it, Itachi thought of (Y/N)again.
(Y/N)... Where are you?
Come back, (Y/N).
I... need you.

Author's Rant
Just a disclaimer, this is not and never will be a story. I just, noticed I have a bad habit of wanting to rant in my author's notes, and have decided that, instead of accidentally doubling the length of each chapter with the author's note alone, I will shove those long-ass rants here. It might contain spoilers for my stories, as I usually wind up ranting about different parts I'm writing. So, if you actually enjoy my rants...well, firstly, what is wrong with you? Secondly, welcome! Time to figure out what tags to stick on this. Also, as of the second chapter, I have decided to shove some of my story ideas here. So if you enjoy half-baked, unfinished stories, then I got those too. I think that adds that short story tag?
