The next day, Kisame came to my room and sat next to my bed. I sat leaning back in my bed, smiling to see him peel an apple for me.
"Something funny?" he asked.
I grinned. "I can do that myself, you don't have to do it for me"
"But I want to" Kisame continued to carefully peel the apple. His big hand looked awkward, showing that he was not used to it.
"Kisame, thank you"
"It's nothing" Kisame smiled and handed me a piece of apple.
"It's not just about this apple. Thank you for saving me and shared your chakra"
"You don't need to thank me, but you're welcome" Kisame put his big hand on top of my head. "After all, it's Itachi who took care of everything. He even carried you to the hideout"
Hearing Itachi's name being mentioned, I couldn't help but feel the heat creeping up my cheeks.
"By the way... Where are the other members?" I tried to change the subject.
"Konan makes a schedule to visit you. I'm lucky that I'm the first" Kisame laughed.
I couldn't help but laugh. "She really did??"
"Yeah, Konan wants you to rest, she's worried about you. Well, everyone was worried about you"
We chatted briefly before Kisame walked out of my room. I sighed and lay down. I hope I'll recover soon.
* * *
My wish come true. I recovered faster than I thought. In one week, I was able to walk and do my daily activities, but I'm not allowed to practice yet.
Today, the weather is cloudy and windy. I put on my cloak and brought my novel, planning to read outside because I'm tired of being in my room. I opened the door and saw Itachi standing there. His hand went up, it looked like he was just about to knock on the door.

"Oh! Hey..." I greeted him.
"Hey" Itachi said softly. "Looks like you're going somewhere?"
"Just wanna read a book outside" I showed him my novel. "Why?"
"How about you go with me?"
I blinked. "Where?"
"Somewhere"
I raised my eyebrows then put my novel back on the table. "Okay"
I followed Itachi and walked beside him. My fingers flexed, tempted to take his hand. I had become so aware of him. His natural scent that reminds me of winter woods, the heat wafting from his body. Everything about him makes me comfortable.
Itachi was silent, and so did I. He seemed lost in thought, and I was busy figuring out where he would take me.
Suddenly, Itachi's fingers brushed against mine, and my heart pounding against my rib cage. A second later, I noticed Itachi's large hand wrapped around mine. I looked at him and he smiled to me. I looked down reflexively, my stomach erupted into butterflies at the sight of his beautiful smile again.
"I hope you don't mind" Itachi's smooth voice rang.
I chuckled. "Do you really think I would mind??"
He let out a small laugh and it became a new addiction for me. We walked hand in hand and having a small talk. I really enjoyed it, but honestly I'm confused. There are feelings that he doesn't reveal to me. Does he like me? Does he... Love me??
"(Y/N)?" Itachi's voice snapped me from my reverie. I didn't realize we had stopped in front of a small tavern. "Shall we take a break?"
"Sure" I nodded and we entered the tavern.
"Welcome!" a girl greeted us, and I noticed the girl's eyes were staring at Itachi longer than they should have. Now I had a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach.

"Table for two?" She asked after took a glance of me.
Itachi just simply nodded. The girl led us to a table at the end of the room. "Please have a seat. I'll be back in a few minutes for taking your orders" she winked before leaving. I bit my inner cheeks and looked at the menu.
"Something wrong?" Itachi asked.
"...No. Why?"
"You look uneasy"
I cleared my throat. "Am I?"
"Mhm"
I put a smile on my face. "Just a little tired"
"I'm sorry, I should have postponed this trip. You just recovered"
"Hey, I'm glad you took me out, I've been in the hideout for a while" I chuckled.
The previous girl came back and took our order. Itachi ordered dango and tea for the two of us. Not long after, our order arrived. We ate and talked about everything. I feel comfortable talking to him and he seems to feel the same way. Itachi became more talkative and seemed more relaxed than when he was in the hideout.
After our plates were empty, we continued our journey. Itachi reached out to take my hand, and I let him, even if only for the slight warmth that his fingers around mine. I still don't know where he's taking me, but I don't mind going anywhere with him.
Hold my hand and I'll go anywhere with you.

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
