《Bittersweet ~Popee X Reader~》11 ~ No Practice Today

I slowly woke up, rubbing my eyes while sitting up. Popee was still asleep, his arm loosely across my lap. I carefully got out of bed and started taking my clothes off to check on the bandages.
My head wasn't hurting at all so far, I looked over the bandages on my arms, contemplating if I should clean the cuts and rebandage them. I decided to just take them off entirely, figuring that they would be healed by now.
Surely enough they were healed but faint scars and scabs. I put the bandages in a bin that was in the corner of the tent. I got up and got some clean clothes from my backpack. I knew I had to go into town sometime to get more.
As I finished changing, I heard the bed shuffle slightly. "Y/N? Are you okay? Do you still hurt?" Popee made his way out of bed and infront of me, checking over my arms then looking me directly in my eyes with worry clear in his dark blue eyes.
"Popee, I'm fine" I softly laughed holding onto his arms gently. "My head doesn't hurt, my wounds are basically healed, I just woke up early is all." I reassured him, holding his hand to my cheek. Popee sighed, closing his eyes with slight nod.

I was gazing at Popee while he was trying to get Keda do a trick properly. The more tiny slip ups, the more Popee yelled at him. He got louder each time, his face was in a constant scowl.
"IT'S NOT THAT HARD YOU STUPID FUCKING DOG, IT'S THE EASIEST THING I'VE BEEN TRYING TO TEACH YOU!" Popee yelled at the poor animal. Keda flinched, his mask dropped to a scared but sad mask.
I walked up to Popee and touched his shoulder gently "Popee-" he swiftly turned around towards me, his face full of clear anguish. "WHAT?!" He yelled then stopped, his face dropped immediately and hugged me quickly. "Shit, I'm so sorry for yelling, I didn't realize it was you. Fuck I'm so sorry." Popee started immediately apologizing, I was slightly stunned but hugged back slowly.

Memories from the orphanage flashed through my mind, painful and sad memories. "I-...It's okay, I understand but can we...just go back to the tent for today? You don't seem...okay." I was freezing between sentences, I softly shook my head and brought Popee's head back to in front of me, looking into his eyes.
Popee nodded his head slightly and started walking back to the tent, as he passed by he whispered "tell Keda i'm sorry." I turn around as he enters the tent then look back at Keda who was slowly stepping off of a training mechanism.
I walked up to the purple dog and gave him a small hug "He said he's sorry, it'll be okay, just try to not take what he said seriously." I backed up and gave him a small smile. I felt bad for him. Keda looked at me with a nod as his mask dropped to a sad smile as he walked off to his tent.
I walked back to the tent to see Popee already in regular clothes with his hair a mess and his head in his hands. He looked like a huge stress filled mess. I sat down next to him and gently rubbed his back "Popee, whats going on love?" I asked him looking at his face from the side. He looked like he was going to cry or already was slightly.
"I'm sorry, I'm so fucking sorry. I couldn't catch you in time. I shouldn't have let him make you do that trick so soon. I should've been better. I let you get hurt, I-" I stopped him mid-sentence. Gently pulling his head up to my face with my hands cupping his cheeks.
"Popee..bunny, listen to me it's okay, it wasn't your fault. Look at me, I'm fine now. I'm all healed, I feel fine. You couldn't have done anything, I should've been more careful." I gave him a small smile, his eyes were teary with small tears already leaking down his face.

He hugged me, burying his face into my collarbone. I hugged him back, rubbing his back up and down gently. I slowly rocked us back n forth to help calm him down, he was softly crying into me. I didn't mind, he needed the comfort and I was happy to help him. "Everything is okay bunny.." I whispered to him softly, kissing the top of his messy blonde head.
He soon stopped crying and laid down, taking me down with him gently. I cuddled into Popee's chest closely while pulling the blankets over our bodies.
"I love you Y/N, so much."
"I love you too Popee, always bunny."
We fell asleep in each other's grasps.

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)

Dungeon Crawler Katia
The aliens killed everyone on Earth...almost. Every structure, from the Taj Mahal to the lowliest lobster trap, vanished into the earth, killing everyone inside. The survivors were given a choice: Endure on the surface without food or shelter or tools, or descend into a world-spanning nightmare dungeon that is also a reality TV show. Katia, an art professor from Iceland who has given up her humanity to transform into a shapeshifting doppelganger, meets up with Carl and his cat, Donut. Together, the three fight to survive in a dungeon filled with Clarketech goblin murderdozers and pyramid-scheme fairy moonshine-makers. The above is, of course, describing Dungeon Crawler Carl. With DoctorHepa's (the author) permission I'm posting some fanfic to expand on Katia, one of the secondary characters who started off not getting as much exploration as I would have preferred. I started off writing chapters that matched up to canon except from her POV instead of Carl's; that lasted a couple of chapters before going off the rails and spinning off into a completely new story, which suggests I should really go back and renumber all the chapters as soon as I find some tuits.
