《The Prince's Stubborn Mate》Chapter 12 Disobedience

"So what happened?" Derek asked as he drove along the road to my house. I unbuckled my seatbelt and climbed in the back of the car.
"What do you mean?" I asked trying to change my clothes.
"I saw your neck. And you look like you've been crying. A lot too" He said and I shrugged knowing he can't fix it.
"Oh nothing serious. Demetri came for me in Aruba, marked me the tried to strangle me." I replied trying to pull up my black ripped skinny jeans in the confined space of the car.
"Oh yeah, one of his sisters mistaked me for one of his whores." I said taking off my sweat shirt and climbing back into the front of the car in my jeans and bra.
My black hoodie in my hand. Derek glanced over at me then back to the road.
"Ouch," he said pretending to wince "So what are you going to do now?" He asked as I pulled my black hoodie over my head, the hoodie was marked 'hangover hoodie'
"Well now, I'm going home to put my stuff away then go do something, before I hurt somebody." I replied and he smiled as I pulled my hair out of the elastic then ruffeled it making it fall down over my shoulders.
"How's Em?" I asked as he turned onto my street.
"She's fine." He said smiling "She threw up this morning but she was fine before I left." He said and my eyebrows raised.
"What did you do? Knock her up already?" I asked staring at him.
"No I just..." He began but stopped as realization hit him, his eyes widened and he stopped before my gate.
I laughed punching his shoulder.
"Congrats bro." I said and he frowned as he panicked.
"She's gonna hate me for this." He said and my smile fell and broke.
"What do you mean?" I asked "why would she hate you?"
"She wants to go to college a baby will destroy her dreams." He said gripping the staring wheel tightly.
"Der, it'll be fine. She can handle both." I said putting a hand on his shoulder. "It's not like me, where I can't play football with a baby in my belly. She doesn't do sports. And if you guys need a babysitter I'm here and Monique is here too." I said and he looked at me in horror.

"I would never leave my child with Mo. Are you crazy?!" He asked with an expression of horror on his face and I laughed.
His face was just too priceless.
"Look, just don't tell her okay. Let her find out and tell you." I advised him "Oh and chamomile-ginger tea is really great for morning sickness." I told him and he nodded.
I thanked him for the ride then got my stuff from the back seat and my suitcase from the trunk then made my way to the house.
I openen the door and stepped through.
"Jessabell, you're back." My mother said and I turned and looked at her.
Too tired to slap her up with my words I said,
"Yeah, I'm back for a while." I stepped past her and lifted my case up the stairs and into my room. I dropped my case and backpack by the door then walked into the closet and pulled out a pair of black ankle boots.
I picked up my black bracelets and put in my black knob earnings. I put my phone in a black dreamer phone case and grabbed my dark glasses and car keys then made my way to the garage. Unlocking my black jeep I got in and threw my boots and phone on the passenger's seat.
The two hundred dollars I had grabbed from my dresser I placed in the glove compartment, then i drove off. As I was driving through the empty streets of wolf creek my phone began ringing. I picked it up and glanced at the caller ID but hung up when I saw it was Demetri.
The phone began ringing incessantly and I got annoyed and switched it off.
I stopped at a convenience store and bought a pack of Marlboro white, a lighter and a bottle of sprite.
Normally it would be a nice bottle of wine or some strong whisky but I don't drink and drive. I lit up a cigarette and opened up the windows as I drove to my favorite place to be alone and just think.
I turned onto the dirt track leading to the waterfall at the end of the forest reserve. Strangely enough, it's always warm up here. Even when it's winter its warm and feels like it's summer. I park a little off from the fall and walk along the grassy ground listening to the rush of the water as I took a pull from the cigarette.

I immediately let the smoke out through my mouth when I felt a shock of pain in my neck. The pain was so intense that I fell to my knees clutching my neck in pain.
Demetri is angry!!
I thought gasping as another flash of pain ripped through my neck where my mark is before it disappeared altogether.
I blinked and stood up brushing off my knees before stepping on the cigarette on the ground putting it out before lighting another one.
I kept walking along the bank of the waterfall's river as I smoked and thought about what Demetri's sister said about me.
She thought I was one of his whores. Maybe that's what I'll be when we get mated. Just a more permanent one. I never really thought he would be faithful to me anyway. But why does it feel like this? It feels like my heart is splintering inside my chest.
I should have never accepted Derek's invitation to be his escort. I'm so stupid. If I wasn't so greedy and jumpy this wouldn't have happened. I would have never met Demetri and all I would have to worry about is school and the next game play coach creates for our football match. Not worry about an alpha male wolf who is very bad tempered and intent on ruining my life.
What if he really does set the mating ceremony for January and I get knocked up? I wouldn't be able to play the final football game so I wouldn't qualify for the scholarship. Maybe I should just try to run away from now. I thought pulling in another puff of smoke.
I let it out through my nose this time. Just as I raised my hand to take another puff of the half burnt out cigarette a hand clamped onto my wrist.
I screamed and attempted to hit the person standing to my left however he grabbed my other wrist.
"Drop it." Demetri's ice cold voice seethed into my ear.
I shivered and dropped the cigarette.
Demetri spun me around so I was facing him. "Why the hell did you leave the castle?" He growled grabbing my upper arms and shaking me roughly as he glared down at me with his luminous purple eyes, the veins in his neck were bulging and his muscles looked extra large, like he was fighting not to shift.
"I thought I told you not to leave!! Why are you so fucking stubborn?!" He shook me harder making my teeth rattle.
I felt my flesh bruising under his tight grip.
If he squeezed any harder he will shatter my bones.
I whimper and tears formed in my eyes as I began to struggle in his grip.
"You smell of smoke." He hissed shoving me away from him, I stumbled but caught myself before I fell.
"You disobeyed me again!!" He roared causing the birds in the trees above to fly with a disturbed squawk.
I stepped back cautiously and his eyes narrowed at me.
Demetri lounged at me faster than I could comprehend. I screamed and he grabbed my hair and pulled me towards the car parked beside my jeep.
I kept struggling and crying trying to pull away from him.
"Give me the keys." He hissed holding out his hand for the keys, I didn't hand them over and he tugged my hair harder "Now!" He growled and I gave them to him.
He threw them yo the guy standing beside the black Audi and told him to drive it to my house then he shoved me in the passenger's seat of his car.
Jumping in the Driver's seat, he starts the car but didn't drive, he just turned and looked at me with his bright luminescencent purple eyes, then he grabs my arm and pulls me over into his lap.
He pushes my hair away from my neck and moves my hoodie then he sunk his elongated fangs into my neck causing excruciating pain to erupt through my body.
I began to scream and beat at his chest but he didn't let go of me just bit me harder and covered my mouth.
I felt myself becoming weaker and weaker as my vision doubled and I became dizzy.
When I stopped struggling he pulled his teeth from my neck and licked the bite so it would heal. He kept sniffing my neck before he kissed my cheek, put me back in my seat, buckeled me in then drove back to the castle.
At some point on the way back I passed out from exhaustion and blood loss.
