The next morning Jungkook was quietly discussing the situation with his mother in the kitchen when he heard loud sobbing and sniffles coming from his room.
He immediately bolted down the hall, quickly opening the door only to find Taehyung sat up between the sheets, crying.
"I'm right here baby, look at me." Jungkook spoke calmly, concerned eyes waiting for Taehyung's to connect with his.
Jungkook gently wrapped his arms around the boy, feeling his small frame shaking against him.
Taehyung was still crying as he buried his face into Jungkook's neck, feeling a warm hand rubbing his back.
They stayed like that for a while until Taehyung slowly stopped crying and dry tears were the only thing left.
"Let's go to the living room, okay?" Jungkook murmured as he slowly wrapped Taehyung's legs around his waist and carried him up.
He was like a little koala, clinging onto him as they made their way down the hall.
They sat on the couch, Jungkook's mother across from them as she handed Taehyung a hot cup of tea.
Taehyung's mother eyed him worriedly as Jungkook hesitantly began speaking.
"Tae, baby, I can go with you to the police-" Jungkook began before Taehyung shook his head quickly.
"No."
Jungkook couldn't help the look of hurt that crossed his features, swallowing harshly before nodding his head in understanding, perhaps Taehyung wanted to do it alone.
"Sweetheart perhaps going alone isn't ideal-" Jungkook's mother tried to reason with him but Taehyung just shook his head again.
"No, I'm- I'm not telling anyone."
Taehyung's words only worked to anger Jungkook even more, body sitting up straighter.
"What do you mean? You have to report that fucking rapist!" Jungkook spat, his mother smacking his shoulder to get him to stop yelling at the poor boy.

Taehyung stayed quiet as he sipped on the warm tea, sniffling lightly.
"Taehyung, baby please you can't just let him get away with it. He was going to-" Jungkook spoke, voice rising.
"They won't do anything to him! They won't put him away Jungkook!" Taehyung broke, tears filling his eyes as he spoke.
"There's no proof of anything. They won't believe me. Do you know how many rapists have been let go because it's just the victims word, nothing else." Taehyung's voice cracked.
It was true, the pastor had just groped him, no penetration had been made to trace back to him.
It was just Taehyung's word against his.
Perhaps it was just their small town that lacked law enforcement, because God forbid, that someone actually committed an assault.
Jungkook knew it was true, he knew that Taehyung was just saying what he refused to believe.
That rapists still lingered the streets, forcing their victims to see them every time they went to throw out the trash or visited a store.
It was silent after that, Jungkook rubbing circles on Taehyung's skin.
"I should probably take you home, your mother must be worried." Jungkook spoke, not wanting to mention his father because he knew that the man would not be happy.
But he knew Taehyung had to get home at some point.
Taehyung nodded his head softly, gently handing the cup back to Jungkook's mother who gave him a warm smile and rubbed his back.
Jungkook took him home in the pick up truck, the ride was silent.
Jungkook couldn't wait to yell at Taehyung's father but he grew afraid of what the man was capable of doing to his own son.
He cursed himself as he slowly pulled up to Taehyung's house, the loud noise from the engine coming to an end.

Jungkook sighed softly as he glanced to the side to see Taehyung looking down at his lap.
He was still wearing Jungkook's clothes, frame looking smaller than ever.
They had just gotten out of the car when they saw Taehyung's front door open and his father come marching out with Taehyung's mother not far behind.
"You! Come here boy!" The pastor yelled angrily as he called for Taehyung, his wife had tears in her eyes as a sigh of relief left her lips.
Jungkook gently held Taehyung by his arm, pressing him slightly behind him.
"I said come here boy! You listen to your father when he tells you to do something!" He yelled angrily, smoking practically coming out from his ears.
"Taehyung sweetheart please listen to your father." His mother piped in gently, voice much warmer.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook before slowly nodding his head to let him know that he would be okay.
Jungkook hesitantly let him go, watching as Taehyung walked up to his mother's side as the pastor turned to Jungkook.
"And you- you dirty little street rat, I do not want to see you around Taehyung ever again. Do you hear me boy." He snickered, making Jungkook's blood boil.
"If you could just talk to him for a bit once you get inside-" Jungkook completely ignored him, addressing Taehyung's mother who was staring at him with a curious look on her face.
"Hey I'm talking to you boy- guess they don't teach you any manners in your side of town." The pastor insulted him, making the vein on the side of his neck become prominent.
"Your son was almost raped by that pastor friend of yours inside of the church last night. If anyone should learn manners it should be you and the people you bring into our town."
He could hear the loud gasp that left Taehyung's mother's lips, quickly bringing Taehyung into a hug as the pastor eyed him angrily.
"And who do you think you are to tell me how I should take care of my town. I suggest you make yourself disappear boy." The pastor threatened, making Jungkook realize that arguing with that man was pointless.
"Please, take care of him." Jungkook told the woman, glancing at Taehyung one last time with a reassuring smile before climbing into his truck and speeding down the road.
"Oh sweetheart. I was so worried about you! Let me make you some hot chocolate, how does that sound?" She spoke warmly, gently leading her son inside the house.
The pastor angrily slammed their front door, immediately steering towards Taehyung.
He roughly ripped him out of his mother's grasp, making him whimper loudly when he gripped his arm.
"You will not say a word about what you think happened, got it?" He hissed, making Taehyung slowly nod as tears fell down his cheeks.
"Dong-Hoon please stop, you're scaring him-"
"Speak up boy!"
"Y-Yes father." He cried.
"Good now let me make arrangements for him to leave town without any problems from you and your lies." He scoffed as he shoved him backwards into his mother's arms.
"Oh and don't even think I have forgotten how you sneaked out last night, you will be punished boy."
Taehyung cried as his mother led him to the kitchen, worried look on her face as she began to see her husband's true colors.

Beware of typos and lack of creative descriptions — my main priority is to get the story out over writing quality. Still, I hope you enjoy the story. Updates are sporadic, but I aim to release a chapter (~2000-3000 words) at least once a week. Average release time is 1 chapter/3 days. I took inspiration from the lore of the MMO, Dungeon Fighter Online (Dungeon & Fighter), and there may be easter eggs or references to the game, but the story and characters have become wholly original and standalone.
