I was standing in the washroom looking at my reflection in the full length mirror.
"Temptress? Are you ready to go?" Pietro asked walking into the room.
I turned my body towards him as he stood in the doorway with his mouth wide open.
"Willow, you looking gorgeous." He said breathlessly.
I smiled and could feel my cheeks heating up slightly.
"Thanks Pietro, you clean up well." I replied looking at Pietro who was wearing a dark grey suit with a blue tie and his hair was still messy but not as messy as it could've been.
"Thanks, so are you ready to go?" He asked again
I nodded my head and grabbed my clutch that was sitting on the bed.
"So where are you taking me?" I asked as I followed him out of the bedroom and the hit and down the wooden dock towards the beach.
I looked at the beach and saw a massive bonfire and a group of people surrounding it.
"That" he said pointing to the party.
"But, we don't know anybody at that party." I stated, I didn't want to go to party where I didn't know anybody.
"Trust me temptress, you'll know everybody."
As we gotten closer I could hear everyone more clearly.
"Rogers I can't believe you don't want a family anymore!" A female voice yelled jokingly
"A man can only take so much before losing his mind." A loud godlike male voice replied to the female then laughed
"Is that?" I questioned before letting go o Pietro's hand and walking faster towards the beach.
"There you guys are!" A man stepped forward to be revealed as Tony stark with Pepper under his arm.

I looked at the others in the group and saw Thor, Jane, Steve, Sam, Maria, Natasha, Wanda, Vision, Clint with his wife and his kids, including little baby Nathaniel Pietro Barton
"Oh my god! What are you guys doing here?!" I yelled running to Wanda and giving her a hug.
"We are throwing you and Pietro a goodbye party." Steve replied after taking a sip from his beer.
"A goodbye party?" I asked
"You guys need a break, I mean, you both almost died that day." Natasha answered
"But, I didn't think we need a vacation."
"I did." Pietro said as he walked behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist pulling my body into his.
"Why?"
"I want a life with you, and I think we both deserve a little R and R."
I laughed a Pietro and looked at the rest of he group "are you guys sure about this?" I asked hesitantly
Tony rolled his eyes "we wouldn't have come here I we weren't sure about this."
I laughed and Pietro handed me a beer.
I popped it open and slightly froze it with my powers before taking a swig of the ice cold beer.
Everyone was now dancing and talking near the bonfire.
"So do you like your surprise?" Pietro asked in my ear as he used his free hand that didn't have the beer slide up and down the outside of the dress.
"Of course, I just can't believe you actually thought of this."
Pietro laughed " about that, I actually didn't think of this, Wanda did."
I rolled my eyes "of course she did."
"Remember when you started opening up to me?" He asked randomly
I laughed quietly " wow talk about topic change, but of course."

Flashback
Four weeks, that's how long the twins and I have been training for, preparing for whatever these people had in store for us.
"So? What's how old are you?" Wanda asked while looking at me question let as her brother stood beside her smiling widely at me.
To be honest it was rather creepy.
I didn't respond to them, in fact I ignored them and contoured punching the punching bag still my hands where getting numb.
"Woah! You have to stop! You're pushing past your limit!" Pietro said and in a flash had both my wrists in his hand and my body pressed against his.
"Let go of me!" I hissed as I tired yanking my wrists out of his strong grip.
I made eye contact with him and his blue eyes twinkled as the sun reflected off the snow outside which made the room brighter.
"I don't want to see you get hurt." He whispered
"Why do you care so much?" I asked rudely
"Because someone has to, and you won't let anyone in, not even me, but I'm not going to stop till you open up to me."
I rolled my eyes and scoffed "what? What do you want to know about me?" I asked
"How old are you?"
"What? Really? That out of all the questions you could've asked, you asked me that?" I asked
He shrugged while nodding his head looking content with his question "well are you going to tell me?"
I had a quick debate on whether or not to tell him before I nodded my head slowly "I'm nineteen."
He smiled seemingly happy about the answer "cool! You're the same age as Wanda and I."
I rolled my eyes "is that all you wanted?"
He shook his head "no, I want to play a game."
"What game?"
"Twenty one questions."
Flashback over
Wow it seemed over ago that we had actually started talking and figuring things out about each other, I don't know what would've happened if Pietro hadn't been as stubborn as he was and didn't give up until he knew me.
I probably wouldn't be here with him right now, saying I love you's and kissing every five minutes.
"So now that we are taking a break from being with the avengers for a while what do you suggest me do?"
He smirked at me "temptress, we could do a lot of things."
I smacked him in the arm playfully "as much as I like the sound of that, I was thinking something along the lines of traveling."
He nodded his head and smiled "I wouldn't mind travelling around for a bit."
"Good."
"Yo! Lovebirds! If you aren't to busy we would like to make a toast!" Tony yelled
We laughed at him and walked over towards everyone and as they all raised there beers
"To Pietro and Willow, for out living those bullets!" He yelled
"Hell yeah!" Clint yelled happily
We smiled and clinked our beers with everyone and took a sip.
"I think I'm gonna like the break." I whispered to Pietro "but I'm gonna miss them."
"Same here temptress."

A New Life
Davin Benjamin was posed a question that no one ever hopes to face. To be able to live a life with full mobility, or to be able to see his family, at least for a significant portion of time. Follow his journey, and watch him overcome struggles that many would stumble at. I took the picture used as the cover, though it was edited with Befunky, not that I paid for anything.

None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
