《The Bet | Pietro x Reader》Chapter Two

Your POV
The bell rang and I grabbed my bag.
"Here, I'll take you to art," Pietro said.
"Thank you," I replied, and followed him out of the classroom and down the hall.
"I'll see you guys later," Natasha said as she walked the other way.
I followed Pietro and we spoke about little things, trying to get to know each other a bit better. I watched him as we talked. Whenever he spoke about something he liked, like football, his eyes would light up and he would get very animated.
His azure blue eyes were mesmerizing, and his silver-y blonde hair glistened in the light. He was extremely cute if I was being honest.
"Steve!" Pietro called out.
I saw a handsome blonde boy turn around. His eyes lit up in recognition as he saw Pietro, but they looked at me confused.
"Hey Piet, who's this?" he asked, smiling at me kindly.
"This is y/n, she's new and has no one in her art class. I need you to take care of her. I'm with her next so I'll meet her here," Pietro said.
"Jeez, you sound like a mother," Steve muttered.
Pietro glared at him.
"I'm Steve," Steve said, holding a out a hand to me.
"Y/n," I introduced, shaking his hand.
"Okay, I'll see you next," Pietro said, waving to me.
I waved back and he sauntered off with his hands in his pocket.
"So, y/n, where are you from?" Steve asked.
"I moved here from Midtown Tech," I said, repeating what I had told Pietro.
We began talking about small things until the teacher let us into the classroom.
"Everyone grab a partner. You're going to be drawing this person," the teacher said.
I looked to Steve who was sitting next to me.
"Partner?" we both asked at the same time.
We both let out a little laugh and began to draw. I sketched Steve's body first before beginning to do the facial features. It was a little bit difficult because we were both telling each other stop moving, and look at me, but I eventually got I nice sketch of him.

"Are you done?" he asked me.
I nodded and showed him.
"Woah," he breathed. "You have a lot of skill."
I blushed and smiled.
"Thank you. What about you?"
He showed me his. I opened my mouth in shock.
He had captured me perfectly. My body was perfectly proportioned, and the face looked exactly like mine.
"Wow! You're an amazing artist!" I exclaimed.
Steve smiled bashfully and looked down. He shyly mumbled a 'thank you'.
The bell rang and we got up. We exited the classroom and waited for Pietro to arrive. I saw Pietro strolling down the corridor and waved at him. He waved back and gave me a small smile.
"I know that Steve was nice to you because he's like that. Thanks, Steve," Pietro said, nodding at the other boy.
"It was nice meeting you, y/n," Steve said, waving as he left.
I returned the statement and turned to Pietro.
"So, math?" I asked.
Pietro nodded and led me down the halls.
"Do you like math?" he asked me.
"Uh, kind of. I mean, I understand it," I replied. "Do you?"
"Nope," he said, popping the 'p'.
I nodded as we entered the classroom. We sat down at the back again, next to Natasha. She smiled and waved at me and I returned the actions. The teacher began explaining what we were going to be doing in class when the door slammed open. A boy with dark, shoulder length hair entered the classroom.
"Sorry I'm late, I was doing stuff," he said, walking towards the back of the classroom.
"Yeah, Steve being stuff," Natasha whispered, making Pietro crack up.
The dark-haired boy sat down next to Natasha and gave her a fist bump.
"Who are you?" he asked me.
"I'm y/n. I'm new," I said.
"Nice. I'm Bucky," he said, holding out his fist.
I bumped mine against his and he gave me a smile, which I returned. We listened to the teacher who was explaining algebra. We got to the exercises and began.

I was flying through the questions with ease. I glanced up to see that none of my new friends were going through it as fast as I was, but Natasha was pretty close. I looked over to Pietro and saw him stuck on the fifth question.
Should I help him? I wanted to, but I didn't want to make it seem like I knew more than him. I decided to just ask.
"Do you need help?" I asked.
Pietro glanced up at me in relief.
"Yes. Please," he replied.
He moved his paper over so that I could see it. I scanned over the paper and his previous attempt.
"Okay, so you've been multiplying here, but you need to divide because it's over here," I said, pointing at the paper.
Pietro scrunched his eyebrows before opening his mouth in an 'o' shape.
"Oh, I get it!" he exclaimed, and scribbled down the answer.
We continued working, occasionally asking each other for help. The bell rang and Pietro motioned for me to follow him. I walked with him, Bucky, and Natasha to the cafeteria. Steve joined us on the way.
"We have a big friend group, but don't worry, they'll like you," Pietro reassured me.
We entered the cafeteria. There were tables everywhere and people eating. I glanced around the room, and my gaze was caught by a big and loud group of people in the centre of the room.
"Buck!" someone called from the big table.
We walked towards the group. They were sat at a table that was actually four tables together. There were five girls and nine boys sitting together and four spare seats. Bucky, Steve, and Natasha sat in three of the spare chairs while Pietro stood up with me.
"Guys!" he called to grab the group's attention.
The group immediately stopped talking and creating chaos and focused on Pietro and me.
"Everyone, this is y/n. She's new," he said.
There was a chorus of hey's, and hello's. I waved back and Pietro got an extra chair for me. We sat next to each other. I was next to Natasha and Pietro. Pietro was next to a very pretty girl with light brown hair. Natasha was next to a boy with sandy brown hair.
The girl leaned over Pietro to talk to me.
"I'm Wanda," she introduced. "I'm Pietro's twin."
"It's nice to meet you," I said.
"So, tell us about yourself," a boy with dark hair said. "I'm Tony, by the way."
"Well, I used to go to Midtown Tech-"
"Midtown Tech?" a boy with brown hair exclaimed.
I nodded and he smiled.
"You must be really smart, then. That school is amazing! You need to complete a really hard exam to get in! I'm Bruce, by the way," he said.
"Wait, really?" Pietro asked. "How hard is the exam?"
I didn't want to sound narcissistic by telling the truth about how hard it was.
"It was pretty hard," I said.
"I bet it was! We're supposed to learn half of the things on that exam next year!" Bruce said excitedly.
"How well did you do?" Tony asked me cockily.
For some reason, his tone annoyed me. It sounded like he thought I would have scored low.
"I passed with 99.5 percent," I said, shrugging.
Everyone's jaws dropped. Bucky repeated the score in a whisper.
"Damn, we finally have a smart one," a girl with dark hair said.
Bruce and Tony looked shocked and outraged while the girl just shrugged.
"The dumb stuff you two do takes a toll," she said. "Anyway, my name's Val."
I smiled and nodded, adding her name to my mental list of new people. Everyone else told me their names and I slowly got to know everyone.

Distant Leaps to Circinus
A dark fantasy story that takes place on a reborn Earth. "With all the planets in the universe, it just had to be this one." Not many thoughts came to mind when scientists said they could provide the Earth with nearly infinite power. Humans could only think about the future, after all: they could travel to the farthest reaches of space, never worry about their electric bills again, and give rise to new and innovative technologies. With such good outcomes on the horizon, there was no way humanity would sit idle; instead, they studied perhaps the most powerful entity in the entire Milky Way. It seemed that, after its appearance decades ago, the strange and unmoving black sphere was something of a godsend. There will always be a reason for these things. With one touch, our very reality was but a grain of sand in an hourglass. In an instant, the Earth was gone - replaced by something… different. More than a century later, Earth’s remains have reformed into a completely different beast - a planet both alive and dead at the same time. Physics that were once understood no longer made sense, giant land masses floated in the sky, and billions of people fought for their very survival. Work, sleep, and play were no more; it was time for the world, Circinus, to reign. The birth of Circinus could only be the beginning. The powerful yet ever-elusive black sphere seemed to watch the world from afar - casting light for those below, but never truly emitting light from itself. What does it all mean for the children of Circinus - children born with eyes that seemed to stare into God’s heart?
