《The Bet | Pietro x Reader》Chapter Twelve

Six weeks later I was packing my bag. This was going to be the best trip of my life. I was surprised my parents agreed to it.
A few weeks ago, Scott had said something about wanting to go on a trip as a group. We all decided then that we wanted to go to the beach. Everyone practically begged their parents to let them go, and eventually they all agreed.
I checked my bag one last time, making sure I had packed everything. I didn't want to forget something important. I dragged my bag downstairs.
There was a loud honk, signalling that Clint was here to pick me up. I said goodbye to my parents and rushed outside.
Clint drove a van. This was good for us because it meant that we could take less cars with us. I jumped in to see that Clint, Natasha, Vis, and Scott had been picked up already.
I sat down in an empty seat.
"Now we just have to pick up Hope, Wanda and Lover Boy," Clint sang.
I rolled my eyes at my boyfriend's new nickname. Clint floored the gas and sped out of my driveway. We picked up Hope and she sat next to Scott. Our second to last destination was Pietro and Wanda's house. When Pietro entered the van, he smiled widely and literally jumped into the seat next to me, almost crushing me in the process. Wanda gracefully sat down next to Vis.
"Is everyone ready to go?" Clint asked.
We all said yes, and he sped off to out rendezvous point. We met everyone else there.
"We got everyone?" Clint asked the other designated drivers.
T'Challa, Tony, and Thor - the other designated drivers - nodded. Before we all got piled back into the cars, I met T'Challa's younger sister, Shuri, and her friend, Peter.

We got back into the cars and began our journey to the beach. The whole trip, Clint and Scott complained about how cute Pietro and I were being.
All we were doing was sleeping and showing each other memes. There was an occasional kiss, but nothing that warranted the complaints.
We got texts from the others who were in different cars. At one point, there was a video call happening between all four cars.
When we arrived at the hotel, I was practically pushed out of the car by the people behind me. Everyone began to stretch their limbs. I did as well and heard a few pops and cracks. Pietro came up behind me and kissed my cheek.
"This is gonna be the best," he said happily.
I agreed and kissed him again.
"Ew, ew, they're back at it again," Scott gagged.
He narrowly missed my kick to his shins.
I looked up at the hotel we were staying in. It was in between average and fancy. Tony, T'Challa, and Thor all said that they didn't mind paying for it all. Our friend group obviously protested, even though we were all kind of broke, and we came to the agreement that the rich kids could pay for the hotel while the rest of us paid for the food.
We all walked into the hotel and got checked in.
"Okay, four people to a room. We all know that our parents only agreed because we were going to separate boys and girls," T'Challa said.
Scott grumbled something about Carol and Val still being allowed to sleep in the same room.
"Chill out dude," Val said. "We won't be in the same bed. Besides, you have Steve and Bucky."
Steve went red like a tomato while Bucky just smirked. We all laughed and got our room keys. I was with Natasha, Wanda, and Pepper. I felt bad for Peter not being able to be with his friend, Shuri. Then he began talking science with Tony and Bruce and I realised he was going to be fine.

"Alright, how about we have twenty minutes to settle in and get changed, and then we'll go to the beach," Tony suggested.
Everyone agreed and rushed to their rooms. I got changed into a f/c bikini that had a little knot in the middle of my chest. I put on a pair of denim shorts as well. I grabbed a beach towel, a book and sunscreen. I shoved it all into a cute little beach bag I brought, as well as some snacks.
I exited my room with the other girls and arrived in the lobby just on time. Pietro looked me up and down and smiled. I blushed. Natasha and Wanda giggled, and I elbowed them playfully.
Lucky for us, we only had to cross one road and then we were at the beach. The beach was beautiful. The water was a clear aqua and the waves lapped against the sand peacefully. The sand was soft against my feet.
We all placed our stuff down and began to set up. Bruce, Steve, and Val had brought beach umbrellas, so we put them up.
Loki said that he would stay with our things and read his book. When his brother told him to lighten up a little, Loki glared at him and said, "I'm pale enough already."
I snorted at the joke while a few others laughed. I shrieked when Pietro picked me up bridal style and spun me around. I heard the click of a camera and saw that Wanda had taken a photo. Vis picked her up as well and we got a nice photo of the four of us in the waves.
Once the photo was taken, I looked at Pietro. He had the same mischievous look in his eyes that he had on the night of the park. I knew what he was going to do, but before I could stop him, he threw me into the waves.
I spluttered when I resurfaced and glared at him playfully. He was laughing so hard he could barely stand up. I reached a hand up so that he could help me up, but when he grabbed it, I yanked his arm and made him topple into the water beside me. He emerged from the water beside me. We stood up together and laughed.
"Couple goals," Sam sighed from behind me.
We all swam around and splashed each other. When Clint splashed Natasha, a splash war broke out. Bucky was splashing me, and I splashed him back harder. I used Pietro as a human shield at one point. We only stopped because Scott nearly drowned.
We all walked back up the beach and to our towels. It had been a great day, but I wasn't prepared for how much fun the night would be.

Incursions
This blurb concerns Incursions book 1: Incarceration. If you could buy superhuman abilities, but they might kill you—or worse—would you do it? Ten years ago, in a world not so different from our own, people with powerful abilities appeared. The new powers were dangerous, dangerous to acquire—dangerous to have—dangerous to wield. World governments raced to find and eradicate the abilities and those who possess them while using the media to rule by fear. Whereas corporations sought to exploit the abilities for profit. Raz Owens was living the dream - a rising star at a job he enjoys, a girlfriend he loves, but it all comes crashing down when Raz disregards his late father's advice. He is pulled into a chaotic underworld of clandestine labs, shadow organizations, and super-powered criminals. Used as a human test subject in a place where few survive the day, he must last long enough to escape. His only advantage? A power that seems nearly useless—a heads-up display. Contains: monsters, violence, death, dismemberment, gamelit, superpowers, superpower consequences, good guys, bad guys, good guys who might be bad guys, bad guys who think they are good guys, good guys that might go bad, bad guys that might turn good, guns for hire, competence, incompetence, continence, incontinence, conspiracies, and some of what I just said wasn't true. This story is written in third person limited POV. That means you can expect to know many of the thoughts and inner dialog of one character, and only see the actions of other characters. This POV does include scenes without the main character, and thus the reader can and will know things the main character does not. Further, this means characters act on what they know, which is almost always less than the reader knows. Something else to know. These books do not hold your hand. If you're reading it and thinking "Gosh, why aren't 'they' doing some 'obvious' thing." Bad news. You probably missed something that explains exactly that. If you're seeking a light read that doesn't ask much of you as the reader, you're invited and very welcome to come on in, but this might not be the story for you.

Are we talking about the same planet? (Reader discretion is advised; Contains Graphic Language and Potentially Excessive Swearing) *¹ Carioca = demonym of someone from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. *² humble and/or hardworking Cariocas = not necessarily mythics, ordinary ones actually exist. *³ precious = inasmuch every living planet is precious. Editor's Note: Someone disable his permission to edit the draft on UnityDocs, please! Hello, I'm McKing and I aim to write an original story with elements I've never seen put together before. Feel free to point out any mistakes you see — I'm not a native speaker, so I'm sure a few will pass me by. Sci-fi; Humor; (Brazilian) Urban Fantasy; faint shades of LitRPG. **Be warned it has a bit of an (absurd) slice-of-life beginning though the story is being subtly (I hope) worked on and eventually shifts gears (a bit). I planned to say that from the beginning, but I forgot to add it.** I hope that you enjoy it and that I can grow as a writer with your contributions. No Fixed Update Schedule. My inspiration comes in bursts and so will the Chapters. Sorry if that displeases you (I love regular updates too), but I'm afraid that's the best I can do for now. Keep in mind that it is a work in progress and things can eventually change a bit - I'll try to always note the changes. Sorry for the bad cover, it was the best my sorry skills could do! I hope you enjoy it,Mcking
