《Percy Jackson X Reader》Chapter 6

"Remind me again, why am I coming with you?" You hurried to keep up with Percy's long stride.
"Because you need to go to school."
"Fine, let's become Goode acquaintances with Goode High School."
He laughed and you let a smile grace your features. Ever since Annabeth's little "talk" with you, you were nervous about getting too close to Percy. You were terrified of that girl. Percy seemed to sense that something was off because he turned to you with concern written all over his face.
"You ok?"
"Yeah," you forced a smile on your face. "Just nervous about meeting so many people."
"It'll be ok, I'll be there!" He slung an arm around your shoulders and you tensed, but he didn't seem to notice.
"Race you?"
"You're on." You darted out from under his arm and dashed towards the entrance of Goode High School. You should have been in 8th grade, but you were able to skip a grade because of all the research you had done outside of school to pass the time. You felt warm arms around your waist and the lack of air beneath your feet.
"Percy, put me down!"
"But you're as light as a feather, and so much fun to annoy."
"Please." He set you down and you lightly swatted his shoulder. You walked up with Percy to see his mom's boyfriend.
"Hey Percy, Y/N. Glad to see you here-"
"Paul, is there a back entrance?"
"Yeah just around there-"
Percy dragged you away as Paul stood there with a confused look on his face. Once you got into the school and started heading towards the gymnasium, you looked at Percy.
"What was that about?"
"Um, it's really noth-"
"Hello Perseus Jackson."

BOOM!
You and Percy along with that Rachel girl landed in the grass outside the band room window. You and Percy continued rolling and when you finally stopped, Percy was on top of you with his arms still wrapped around your waist.

"Um, sorry." He stood up and offered you his arm. You grabbed it and he pulled you up.
"What was that? You better explain this time, Percy Jackson!" The red-haired girl stormed up to Percy.
You turned on him too. "Yes you do, how do you know this Rachel girl?"
He opened his mouth as if to answer, then the sirens rang through the air. "Ok, we have to go now."
"I'll just give you my phone number, you better call me." Rachel pulled a marker out of her pocket and wrote a phone number on Percy's hand. "Do you have a safe place to go to?" Percy looked at you and smiled.
"A safe place, you could say that."
*time skip*
You flopped down onto your bed and rubbed your eyes. Percy never had the chance to explain anything because Annabeth had commandeered him as soon as your presence had been made known.
"Y/N! Could you show the new kid around?" Beckendorf gestured to a boy who was about your age, maybe a bit older. With dark hair and hazel eyes, you had to admit that he was cute. Not Percy cute, but cute nonetheless. "He's a son of Aphrodite."
"I'm Reynard Malchavix." He smiled a wide smile and held out his hand.
"Y/N L/N, nice to meet you. Now, come on. You'll love camp."
Showing Reynard around camp proved to be quite fun. Yes, he was flirting, but you paid no mind as to why would anyone flirt with you genuinely. He was probably joking, right? Anyway, he was so funny and you enjoyed his company.
"-and this the lake-" You cut off when you saw Percy and Annabeth sitting next to each other on the pier, Percy's arm around her shoulders. You started to turn around when Percy called your name.
"Y/N, how's it going?" You turned around to see Percy striding towards you and Reynard, with a pissed-looking Annabeth behind him glaring at you. Her glare was so venomous that you believed that looks could really kill. "Who's the new guy?"

"Oh, yeah, sorry. Reynard, son of Aphrodite, meet Percy, son of Poseidon." The two boys stared at each other before Reynard looked away.
"Y/N, we seem to be intruding on something. Let's continue the tour."
"Yeah," You said weakly as Reynard dragged you away. He pulled you until you couldn't see or hear Annabeth or Percy.
"What's up with that?"
"Sorry, it's- it's nothing."
"Ok, I know that we just met today, but I know that something is wrong. What's up?"
"I don't know. Annabeth, the blonde girl, is just- challenging sometimes and I don't know how to deal with her. She reminds me of- of some not so great times."
Reynard sighed and then strode over and hugged you. You flinched. He pulled back. "Are you ok?"
"Sorry, I- I just haven't had the best luck with family." You took a shuddering breath and Reynard wrapped his arms around you, this time you didn't flinch. You just collapsed and took shaky breaths, trying not to cry.
"It's ok, it's ok." He murmured as you rocked back and forth.
*time skip*
Great, partnered with Percy for the games. Not that you were upset about being partnered with Percy, you just didn't want to know what pain Annabeth would have for you. When you had come back from Goode, she had found you later and beat you up. You could have fought back, but then she would have blamed you
"Ready to win, Y/N?"
"Yep!" You forced the smile onto your face. Across the arena, you could see Annabeth glaring at you. You gulped.
*time skip*
"Percy! Behind you!" The two of you were by Zeus's Fist and cornered by three giant scorpions. You were on top of the boulders and Percy was below, just getting ready to climb up. You leaned down to grab his hand when you felt the presence behind you. You turned to see the heat signature through your glasses of Annabeth Chase. She reached out to push you and you twisted out of her grasp which led to you falling on top of Percy and into a hole with Annabeth behind. Percy had grabbed a hold of you and when you two landed, you both rolled with the momentum. Rolling up, you got back to back with Percy as Annabeth removed her hat.
"Percy! What just happened?" Annabeth rushed to her side and started asking if she was ok. The two of them seemed to have totally forgotten about you. Sighing, you looked up and your mouth opened in awe. The hole which you had fallen through was no longer there. Going further down into the tunnel, you found a blue triangle. This had to be the legendary labyrinth. As you reached out to press it, you saw green lines heading down one path. You would have to look into that later. Pressing the triangle, a passage opened up.
"Guys, I found a way out!" You heard footsteps and then Percy and Annabeth were behind you. "Come on, let's go." As you climbed the stairs, you blocked out the two behind you. It hurt that Percy hadn't even bothered to see if you were fine. You stepped out into the fresh air and frowned. It was now nighttime, but you had only been in for only five minutes...
This just confirmed that that had been the Labyrinth.
"Percy, Y/N, Annabeth! Thank goodness we found you!" You saw a group of campers run over to you. Reynard walked up to you.
"Hey, you ok?"
"Yeah," You went in for a hug and whispered in his ear. "I need your help. Let's talk later." He nodded once you had pulled away. The group walked back and finally, Percy walked up to you.
"So you and Reynard?" He looked at you with an expression that you couldn't read.
"Ew, no. He's like a brother to me."
"You ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine"

He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He nods to my door and I play with my fingers, "Yeah.. I do.." I feel his eyes watch me and I quickly stop. "You live with your boyfriend or do you like sweatshirts that reach your knees?" He teased, making a giggle slip past my lips. I look away to the floor again, "I-I like big shirts... a lot." I mumble softly and he nods his head, "Hol' up." He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out. Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
