《Town or City |Wolfblood|》CHAPTER XXII: Newcastle

Natalia ran into Matei completely and for once, totally by mistake as she was trying to climb up the wall again to get into her room again.
Instead of climbing into her room in silence, the two of them simply went up onto the roof and Natalia grinned, as she inhaled the open air.
"Are you going to tell me what happened?" Matei asked as she held out her hand to help him up onto the roof as she leaned over and she rested her head on his chest.
Natalia moved her arms around him and Matei did the same, as he smiled at her and she listened to his steady heartbeat, enviously wishing that she could do the same thing with her own and keep her inner wolf-self stable.
"I went to Stoneybridge again." She murmured softly and he looked down at her with raised eyebrows and she'd snuggle up to him and he was smiling at her. "There are now a pair of two humans there in town, right in their small town home of Stoneybridge that know the secret now. But they have now both been sworn to secrecy with everything and all things wolfblood."
Matei growled softly at that, but when she moved one of her hands to rest on his heart she felt his heartbeat slowin' down. By then the veins that had begun to creep up his neck were gone and retreating, as Matei gently rested his forehead against hers as the brief, very brief moment of anger and worry had passed.
They both shut their eyes briefly and then Natalia heard a howl from close and nearby, as she sighed quietly and Matei looked at her with no words to speak of.
"I will be back... I promise." She murmured softly and gently squeezed his hand, before she was once again a blur, climbing down from the rooftop and she hopped down.

Natalia made her way to the moors just outside of Newcastle and she was prepared to fight, but instead she was face to face with her elder brother.
Natalia walked forward and she hugged her brother briefly and he pressed his forehead against hers, as she had tears rolling down her cheeks and she knew that he was also crying.
"This is your choice then, sister? To live among the humans, to be as if a wolf among the sheep?" Aran asked and Natalia swallowed her grief over losing her place in the Wild Pack, but for her it had never been about place, rank or power in the pack. It always had simply been about family.
"This is my decision, my brother. I choose to live among the humans, as a wolf among the sheep." Natalia said as Aran looked up and Natalia could see Matei and he was waiting on a nearby boulder for her.
"Is he a wolfblood? Is this why you have chosen to stay in the humans' world? Far away from our own?" It was a clear question and Natalia was nodding, as Aran let out a small hint of a growling smile. "Then you will go in peace, little one. You will always have a place with us in the Wild, little wolf." He said and she nodded, and Aran growled at Matei before he raced away.
"That was one of your wild pack siblings?" Matei asked as he leapt down from the boulder and she was looking, more like staring directly at the place where her older brother had just been.
"My brother, Aran. He is one of the two Betas of the wild pack." Natalia answered his question, though it did not appear that she was really even listening to him or to herself, as she didn't even react when he laced his fingers with hers and squeezed her hand.

"Come on. Let's go home." Matei suggested and Natalia was smiling a little as she walked with him and they were taking their time, just patiently walking back to the city. "What are you smiling at?" He asked and she was humming under her breath with a smile.
"I'm free Matei. I'm free from the obligations of the wild pack, I can stay here or go back to the wild as I wish it to be... as long as my older brother is approving of it." Matei smiled at the sight of her clear happiness, so clear that he could smell it on her and she was nodding. "I don't even have to run away this time." She murmured and she hugged him briefly. "See you later." She said and he nodded, as she jumped up to the fire escapes, and she swung herself into her room with a small smile, as she shut her window after her.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.

Damned he be by the Gods if they wanted him dead. -new synopsis 10/6/2016 ---------- A new chapter would be released every friday. And the quality of writing should improve each time, hopefully.
