I dug around for my keys realizing I didn't have them so I knocked hoping someone was home. The door swung open under my fist.

I took a step inside, the room was pitch black and my shoe sunk into the carpet making a squelching noise as I took another step and felt around for a light switch. I eventually found it and realized I was in the wrong apartment.

Suddenly everything turned into a horror movie as I looked around.

There was blood everywhere, it was completely soaked into the carpet, smeared on the walls, and splattered on the ceiling.

It was like the time I got high and forgot to close my red paint, just way more disgusting.

Against the better judgment I don't have, I followed the bloody trail into the bathroom. I could smell the blood through the door, but it didn't stop me from opening it.

I wish it had, what was on the other side was way worse than the living room. A woman was in the bathtub, the water was red with her blood. Her head was back so I could see the massive hole where her throat should be.

I know my heart doesn't beat but I felt like it was going a mile a minute. I got that metallic-y adrenaline taste in my mouth, and my head was swimming weirdly. I knew I was still in the room looking at her, but it almost felt like I was looking at her from farther away through a funhouse mirror.

Her eyes were open and bloodshot, her pupil completely dilated, and the color of her eyes looked...red?

I could've sworn for a second she looked at me.

It wasn't until she opened her mouth and blood started pouring out that I realized she did. She made a grotesque gurgling noise as she tried to say something but I was too freaked out to process anything else. All I could do was scream "CONNER!!!!!!!"
