《Mrs. Maximoff》Forty

Wanda had just taken me home, it was almost midnight and I was also feeling a little tired from the alcohol.
I wasn't drunk, but I wasn't exactly sober. And when Wanda and I kissed...I felt alive.
I had never felt that way.
Not even when I saw her for the first time.
Well, what made it interesting to me was that every time I saw her, my heart would feel different things.
That was why I liked it with Wanda: it didn't matter how long I had been knowing her, because every time my eyes met hers something new would sparkle in me.
I was a new version of myself, a better one.
I could still feel that sparkle in me even hours after it happened, and I liked it.
I liked how she made me feel, I liked that I was the only one able to make her feel.
She was right, she was just Wanda to me.
She was never a CEO, she was never the mad rumors that people made up.
She was Wanda, and I liked Wanda.
I liked Wanda very much.
"Are you contaminated by the Wanda virus right now? Because if you are, do not dare touch anything." Morgan's voice was the first thing I heard when I opened the door.
Could getting back home be normal for once? Of course not. Morgan Stark was literally my roommate.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked them as I walked into my room and they followed me.
"Did she infect you with her loving?"
"English, please."
They scoffed before speaking up again.
"Did you get some?" They bluntly asked, causing my eyes to open wide as soon as I heard their words.
"You're so gross." I almost yelled, picking up my pillow and smashing it across their face.

"What! I'm just looking out, you never know!"
"For what? It's Wanda, you know her. Your dad works with her."
"I know! It's just that thinking you might have stopped being miserable over her still feels weird." Morgan admitted, earning a glare from me.
"Do you want me to slap you or do you think you can figure it out on your own?" I asked and they flipped me off.
"Wow, you're so nice. I'm so thankful to have a roommate like you, really."
Morgan was about to walk out when I saw them stare at me, or better, stare at my neck.
"You're a vampire or something?" I joked, hoping they didn't notice what I was wearing.
"I've never seen that necklace on you, is it new?" They asked and I knew they were pretending. They knew something was up, so I just played along with them hoping they would think I was telling the truth.
"Yeah, I saw it in a jewelry store while I was coming back home from work this afternoon." I calmly said.
"Liar!" They shouted, running up to me to take a better look at the necklace.
"I'm telling you the truth, Morgan. That's how I got it." I tried sounding as convincing as I could be, but I knew it wasn't going to be easy.
It wasn't that I didn't want to tell Morgan, because I did, but what if Wanda preferred to keep it private for a bit? I wouldn't mind that. Having some time for ourselves after everything that happened.
I trusted Morgan with my life, but if Morgan knew something, Jules would know it too. I trusted Jules, but I knew that she wasn't good at keeping secrets, so soon all of our colleagues would know something was up between me and Wanda.

I didn't want people to think I was doing this to get some kind of promotion or anything work-related, because I knew that something like that would be said.
"There are no jewelry stores in our neighborhood, and you take the bus home, you would never get off at another stop just to get a necklace, you would be too tired for that." Morgan explained, and I knew they were right, I just wanted to check in with Wanda before telling them anything.
Yes, it was just a kiss, but we both knew it wasn't going to stop at that.
As if someone heard me, my phone started ringing, and when I looked at the screen and saw Wanda's name, I gestured for Morgan to walk out, but they refused.
"Come on Morgan! I get that we share everything but my mom is calling me."
"Oh, can I say hi to her?"
"Morgan."
"Fine." They scoffed and finally closed the door behind them.
I took a deep breath before tapping the green button and finally hearing her voice.
"Hey, everything okay?" She asked. I could hear noises in the background, and I laughed when I realized that those noises sounded just like Dracula's voice.
"You drove me home, Wanda, of course I'm okay."
"Yeah, well, it never hurts to check."
"I can hear you smile."
"I wonder why." She joked.
"You really make me question my decisions, you know that?"
"Oh yeah? Like what?" She asked and I felt my knees go weak.
"Time. It doesn't feel real with you."
"Time doesn't feel real with me?"
"I don't know how to explain it, but yeah. It doesn't matter when I'm with you."
"I'm glad it doesn't, time just ruins everything sometimes, just like now." Wanda said, leaving me confused.
"What do you mean?"
"It's very late, you need to rest, you have work tomorrow."
"I'm sure you could close an eye on that, right?"
"Nope, that would be unprofessional of me. You're cute for trying, though."
"Don't act like it isn't late for you too."
"Indeed, I'll go to sleep once I know you've listened to what I told you."
"Bossy."
"You don't even know it. Go to sleep, Y/N."
"Yeah, I'll go. See you tomorrow, or in a couple of hours, I guess."
"Whatever floats your boat. Goodnight, Y/N, sweet dreams."
"Wanda?" There was just one more thing I needed to say, and if I didn't do it now, I knew that I would never have the courage to say it again.
"I...kinda suck at texting first when I'm in situations like these, you know, I wouldn't want to bother, so I was hoping you'd do it. And well, you did more than that. Thank you." I chuckled and heard her softly laugh too.
"You are very welcome, Y/N. Now go to sleep, I'm serious."
"Okay, okay. Goodnight, Wanda."
"Goodnight babyclaws!"
"Seriously?"
"What?! It's funny!"
