"Nice to meet you, mate." He smiled, taking in Zayn's appearance. It was no lie that Zayn was the complete opposite to the sort of people Liam usually hung out with and in no way was he judging Zayn, he was just confused towards the large difference. Niall himself was wearing a pair of joggy bottoms and a tank top, very sport inspired, comfy attire - similar to Liams. "I was starting to think Liam was lying about having a room, or even a roommate, because he's never shown me it, or introduced me to you.. Until now." He laughed.
Zayn nodded, intertwining his feet with each other, anxiously. He couldn't help but feel anxious, he always did when meeting someone new, especially someone like Niall who was a jock, his polar opposite and known for not being the sweetest, "Haha.. yeah. Our room is not the nicest half the time."
"Alright," Liam shrugged, changing the topic, "I'm gonna go get some scran and a coffee, wanna come with me Zayn?" He asked, noticing that Zayn was looking a little bit uncomfortable around the Irish boy, compared to how he usually looked when it was just the two of them, he supposed that he maybe shouldn't have invited him - Niall could be a lot to take in sometimes. The boy nodded and got up, along with Liam, standing close by his side.
"Leaving me here?" The Irish one teased, Liam teasingly stuck his middle finger up and Niall stuck his tongue out in response, "We need someone to save our seat. What if someone took it?"
"We would have to sit on the floor then, soz." It was now lunch time, peak time for the cafe so it was full, they would well and truly have to sit on the floor if someone took their seat. The Irish boy shrugged, pulling out his phone to occupy himself while the two were gone. "I guess, I'll wait here. It could be worse." He joked and dramatically sighed, Liam rolled his eyes, he was convinced that Niall should have perhaps taken an acting course instead.
"Thank you." The man and Zayn walked over to the food bar and picked up one of the clean, cold, plates, Zayn got a salad and some crisps with orange juice and Liam got a genuine pile of sandwiches with his coffee, all different flavours but the majority being smoked ham and cheese. "That's a crazy amount of sandwiches, Liam."
"They're delicious from here, I swear down. I'll pay the bill after by the way, no need to worry about it."
"I can pay it, Liam." He pleaded, looking at him. Liam shook his head and took a sip of his coffee, "I invited you out, it only seems fair."
"Fine..." he sighed, deciding there was no point arguing because Liam would win anyway. He took a sandwich for himself to test out if they were really as delicious as Liam made them out to be and placed it on his plate next to his salad. "If this is icky, you're having it."

"Fine by me, that's my favourite sandwich too, hence why I got most of them. Are you alright by the way, you looked a bit uncomfortable. I can ask Niall to leave?" Liam said, voice full of concern and worry, Zayn instantly shook his head, "Oh no.. I just get anxious about meeting new people. It's alright. I promise."
"Mm'kay, well let me know if he gets too much for you or anything, I understand." He said softly, heading back over to the table with the boy, allowing Zayn to enter the booth first with his fresh, tasty juice and his plate. He followed after and got comfortable onto the soft seat, taking a bite into one of the many smoked ham and cheese sandwiches that he had picked up. "Bloody perfect." He could practically moan, it was amazing.
Zayn laughed, taking a bite of his own. Eyes instantly going wide, damn they were good. Perhaps not as good as Liam's cooking were but they were truly astonishing, "I understand the hype you gave it now. I'll have to get some more in a bit."
"Oh fuck yeah," Niall said and shoved his phone away into his back pocket, "the sandwiches here are banging.. Try the breakfast sandwich next." He got up and made his own way over towards the place in which the food was at. He got a couple of sandwiches himself, along with a few slices of cucumber and some crisps. Returning, Liam stared at his plate, "What is that? Why've you plonked like 5 random pieces of cucumber on there."
Niall shrugged with a grin, "Love myself some cucumber, I don't know what to tell you, mate."
"Did you pick it out the salad...?" Zayn asked and Niall shook his head with a chuckle, "Nah, I asked the lass working to cut me some, and she did. Was gonna ask for her number but she's working so it felt impolite to do so. Don't you think she's beautiful?" Zayn looked at the woman, then at Liam and then back at Niall, shrugging. He didn't like how the boys treated women as if they were an object of some sort but he certainly wasn't in the mood to start an argument over it right now. The woman was beautiful but Zayn had no interest in her.
"I bet he's lying you know, he probably picked them out of the salad. He's a dirty bastard." Liam whispered to Zayn and Zayn giggled softly, drinking some of his orange juice. "Maybe."
Niall watched and raised an eyebrow, "Are you talking about me there, Payno?" Liam put his hands up in defence, "Of course not."
"Cheeky twat. You definitely were," he muttered and stole one of Liam's sandwiches, devouring it in seconds. "Hey! That was mine."
"I'll throw it up if you want it that bad," Niall teased and Liam jokingly slapped away the boy's hand, drinking some of his drink. The two were seconds away from starting a food fight which Zayn certainly did not want to be involved in so he gently tugged on Liam' shirt under the table to get his attention. The man looked at him, instantly stopping and his eyes going a whole lot softer. "Are you okay?" Zayn nodded, looking up at his food. He ate a mouthful of the salad he had got himself, "I'm good."

"Mmmm. Okay." Liam said, looking over at Niall with a cheeky smile, eating some more of his own sandwiches. Niall simply glared at him.
"So what course do you take, Zayn?" Niall asked, genuine curiosity in his eyes. Zayn hummed, sitting up, "I take art."
"Art. Sounds alright, I'm shit at art, me. I can't draw a stickman to save my life but I do try." He laughed, Liam laughed too, "That's true. You should see Zayn's art though, honestly it's really good. Should be in a museum or something. The Louvre."
Zayn blushed faintly once more, "You're being way too kind. It's not that good."
"Ah, well. I think it is." Liam said softly and Niall watched the two, biting his lip. "You'll have to show me it one day then, Zayn."
"I will do. I'm working on some pieces of dogs right now, I have to draw my interests in different art mediums and I, kind of, like dogs a lot." He said shyly, playing with his hands to avoid the feeling of anxiousness in his chest. He should really invest in a fidget toy. "I do need to hurry up with them but I've been very distracted lately, they're due in soon and I haven't done much."
"Guess I'll have to keep you on track then, mate." Liam grinned, eating another of his sandwiches. "Your next one should be like, a sick dog breed.. Summit crazy like a random mix of two dogs... A labrador and a chihuahua... Is that even possible?"
Niall burst out laughing, clapping his hands together as if it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard. "Oh my god. Imagine. That'd look so funny, plus labs are massive and chihuahua's are tiny... Ouch." Zayn watched, "Maybe. You could help with my next piece if you're not too busy, Liam? We will have to see."
"Awesome. Don't know how much of a help I'll be but I'll give it a go. I'm excited for dessert after this." He hummed, taking a sip of his coffee, "The cakes here are delic'-!"
"The chocolate one is mouth watering, Zayn. You should give it a try." Niall suggested, eating his cucumber with his hands, Zayn wondered where his manners were but concluded that they were non existent, he was a typical cis man. He really was just like Liam - no wonder the two were best friends. "If I'm not full after these, I will."
"Great. Sometimes me and Liam come just to eat the cakes, but mainly we come for the sandwiches because nothing can beat them." He said as he virtually engulfed a whole sandwich within his mouth, running a hand through his hair. Zayn couldn't understand how the two could eat so much without gaining any weight. "So, how come you never once mentioned Zayn to me then, Liam? He seems like a decent lad."
"I mean, I guess..." he looked towards Zayn who made eye contact with him, "I guess.. I just forgot to introduce you to each other." He scratched the back of his neck, biting his cheek.
"You forgot? Good one, Payno." Niall raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms between each other by his chest, watching the two. He didn't quite understand but something felt different about the two, like Niall had seen Liam with loads of people before but none of them had this sort of tension - it didn't make sense to him.
"Yeah," he said awkwardly, "I did but we're here now and who knows, maybe we can all have a night out together next?"
"Sound's great considering you haven't turned up to any of my night-outs in weeks." Niall teased, chuckling "but yeah, that does sound like a plan if you're down for a night-out too Zayn?"
"Wait. What's a night-out? Is that where you drink loads of beer?" Zayn asked quietly, looking at Liam. He had never been on one before as he'd always been so busy and infatuated with his work and his art that he hadn't really had a chance to gain too much of a social life... Plus, he'd probably rather curl up in a ball and watch cartoon dogs on TV than drink alcohol but no one really needed to know that.
"You don't know what a night-out is?" Niall uttered, in shock, overhearing Zayn's soft voice. "No, I think I do but like, I haven't ever been on one?" Liam watched the two of them, "I figured you wouldn't have been. We'll make your first night-out memorable then - and you can drink more than just beer. I reckon you like cocktails."
"Oh. Maybe." He blushed, embarrassed. Liam was way more experienced than him in every single aspect of the word, he was convinced that Liam had done every single thing possible in this world that he hadn't... Drugs, drinks, sex. The most Zayn had done was share a pint with his Dad on his 18th and then complained about how disgusting it tasted because it really was icky and he couldn't imagine himself ever drinking one of them for pure fun. He doesn't even masturbate and he certainly hasn't been anywhere near drugs, cigs or anything like that.
"Well, Liam, while you teach Zayn what a night-out is, I'm off to get a slice of cake or two. Be back." Niall announced, grabbing his plate which was now empty. He made his way back over to the food area and collected himself a slice of the chocolate orange cake for himself, along with one of the white chocolate cake slices.
