Lloyd's POV
"No. No. We can't be stranded here," y/n says while she paces back and forth. "We can't let them bring the golden weapons back to the overlord."
"Well, what are we supposed to do?" Kai says, shooting a ball of fire at a swarm of bugs. "We need a rocket to get off this planet, but we don't have one!"
"Wait..." y/n mutters, lifting her head. "We do have one!"
"Yeah, but in case you haven't noticed, it's completely broken!" Jay shouted.
"Not if we can fix it!" Y/n protests, running down to the site. "C'mon!"
"I'm with y/n," I say, running after her. "This might be our only option."
"I can download the blueprints of the rocket into my database," Zane suggests.
"Perfect!" Nya exclaims. "I could have sworn I saw a toolbox somewhere in the ship..."
Everybody got to work, looking for usable parts and tools. Over the next few hours we had an entire rocket built... it's just really, really tiny.
"Not bad, given what we were working with," Cole observes. "Do you think it'll fly?"
"It has to," y/n answers, and opens the door.
We all climb inside, and prepare ourselves for lift off. Nya's the most experienced with piloting, so she's at the control panel, while Zane is going to supply the rocket with energy from his unlimited power source.
"Hold still," y/n orders as she attaches a cord to Zane's heart. "This might hurt a bit."
Zane grunts painfully as y/n flicks a switch.
"Sorry, sorry!" She says, showing concern. "I really hope this works," she sighs.
"Ready for take off?" Nya asks.
Everyone nods nervously.
"Okay, commencing lift off procedures..."
I notice y/n's fearful expression, and I take her hand.
"It'll be okay," I assure her.
She sighs nervously. "I hope so."
"10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...we have lift off!"
—————time skip, y/n's POV———-
"Hold onto something!" Nya orders as the rocket falls towards the ground.

"What's that beeping sound?" Cole asks.
"It's Zane!" I say. "His heart is reaching critical mass!"
"It appears my unlimited power source is, in fact, limited!" Zane realizes.
"Just hang on, buddy," I say gently, holding onto his arm so he doesn't fall over.
Zane closes his eyes, and the expression on his face suggests that he's in a lot of pain. He rests his head against mine, and I wish I could take away all of his agony and feel it myself.
"Brace for impact!"
The shuttle hits the ground with a bang, and it flips over a few times. It finally comes to a stop just a few meters before crushing a parked car.
"We really should have installed seat belts," Lloyd mutters as we all dangle from the ceiling.
Using my foot, I unhook Zane from the energy cord so he can jump down. Once he's standing on the floor, I let go of what I was holding onto.
"Pixal! We've landed," Zane informs her over the communicator.
"Thank goodness! Are you all alright?"
"Uh... more or less."
"You need to come back to the hideout. Mr. Borg has a plan."
—————-quick timeskip——
"Oh, good! You're here," Borg greets us as we come inside.
"You said you had a plan?" Lloyd asks.
"Yes! I have developed something that all scientists have strived to invent... a diet pill that actually works!"
"Really?" Misako says. "Does it work?"
"Eh... no," he admits.
"But you just said—" I interrupt, but I am ignored.
"The nanotechnology in the pill does work, but not only does it shrink your waist line, it shrinks your entire body!"
"So you're saying you've invented a shrinking pill?" Zane asks.
"Yes, preciously!"
"And you want us to make the overlord swallow it?" Kai clarifies.
"Yup!"
"What?! How are we supposed to get close enough to the overlord to make him swallow a pill?!?!" Jay shouts.
"Stop yelling!" I cry, covering my ears. "It's not going to be that difficult; we have the right people who can—" my finger which was pointing towards Sensei drops. "Uh oh."

"Y/n?" Sensei asks, tilting his head.
"Garmadon's not here," I mumble. "Which means they can't thread the needle."
"Uh, y/n?" Lloyd asks. "You okay?"
"Maybe we can load the pill in a gun or something," Cole suggests. "Who has good aim?"
"Misako's very skilled with a bow and arrow," Sensei says.
"Yes, but I can't shoot a gun."
"Hmm," Borg thinks out loud. "I think I have something to help."
He wheels himself away and returns with a loaded bow, except there isn't an arrowhead.
"This is a gun in the shape of a bow," he explains. You use it in the same way you would to shoot an arrow, except a bullet will be fired instead."
"Perfect!" Misako says, taking the bow. "What are we waiting for? Let's go!"
———— Small timeskip, Zanes POV——-
"Pythor, Pythor, where's Pythor?" Y/n mutters, peering this way and that off the edge of the building.
We're all standing on top of a building which is in the line of sight of the overlord.
"What are you doing, sister?" I ask.
"I've got to find that stupid snake before he ruins everything!"
I look to the side to see Misako aiming the bow at the overlord's mouth, and after taking a deep breath, she releases the string.
"Ah ha!" Y/n cries, and hastily grabs a stone off the ground. She spazily chucks it towards the same place the pill is heading.
"Why did you do that?" I question. "If you hit the pill, we will have lost our chance!"
But to my surprise, the rock hits Pythor as he jumps up in the way of the pill.
"How... how did you know that he would do that?"
Y/n raises an eyebrow at me.
"Oh. Right," I reply, remembering that she seems to know what's supposed to happen before it does.
Everybody cheers as the pill successfully lands in the overlord's mouth. He chokes on it, but then swallows.
"Yes! We did it!" Jay exclaims.
Despite our apparent victory, the overlord is laughing hysterically.
"Did you really think that would work?" He booms. "I'm an all powerfull being! Nanotechnology is useless on me!"
"Oh, come on!" Kai cries. "We did everything in our power to get rid of him, but he won't f*cking die!"
"I think he heard you!" Cole says worriedly as the overlord sends these golden tentacles towards us. "Whoa!" Cole cries as one snakes around his waist.
They come at us from all angles, picking us up one by one until there's only me and y/n left.
"I'm at critical mass right now with annoyance," Nya says, crossing her arms as she's turned upside down.
Suddenly, I realize something. "Critical mass..." I mutter.
Y/n hears me and her eyes widen.
"No—Zane—"
"You know as well as I do that this is the only way to defeat him," I reply. "And judging by your expression, I'm guessing this is what's supposed to happen, you just don't want it to."
"No, please! We'll come up with another way!"
"Support me my friends, just one last time," I say, and run towards the edge of the building.
My teammates flip themselves over so their feet are in the air, which I use as platforms to jump across. I hop my way over to the overlord, and leap towards him. I grab onto the spikes of the golden armour, and cry out in pain as a tidal wave of energy shoots through my body.
"Zane!" Y/n screams.
"Only I have the power to possess all four golden weapons at once," the overlord says with a laugh. "What is one ninja against me and my army?"
"This isn't about numbers. It's about family!" I reply, my body trembling. The golden weapons are too much for me to handle, but I don't let go.
"Right!" Y/n agrees. Wait. Why does she sound so close?
I turn my head to see her riding a f/c dragon. She's standing on it, she once she's close enough, she jumps.
"Let go of my brother!"

This Used to be About Dungeons is a comfy slice-of-life adventuring story that occasionally features dungeons. Updates Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Mostly it's about walking in the woods with a friend, looking for mushrooms to put in your soup, or haggling with the guy selling squash, or taking care of a neglected garden. Look, the dungeons are always going to be there, and sometimes you need to make a journey to one of the Spirit Gates, or make a pilgrimage with the local Cleric of Symmetry to a holy shrine. Your tour through the local dungeons can wait. You'll have rivalries with other groups, and find some dungeon eggs that need to be carefully incubated in case they turn out to be something valuable, and help a friend to build a fishing weir.
