- Paige's POV -

It's now November 20th, meaning it's been five days since my debut game and my birthday. Today is the day that everyone is going home since it's the end of camp.

My sister was allowed to stay for the rest of camp, so now I'm in the lobby with her waiting for her Uber. Her flight is early and it's currently 6:24 in the morning. We are sitting in a comfortable silence until I break it.

"I don't want us to be separated again." My voice breaks with the last word. I look down to try to keep myself together. "Oh, Pai." She says and I feel the space next to me dip. "Look at me." She says softly. I do what she says and she has a soft smile. "Technically we're gonna be separated, but we'll still have contact. I'll still get to see you." "But you're gonna be on the legitimate opposite coast." I say and some tears start streaming. "Paigy." She says and pulls me into my arms. "I don't want you to leave. I want you to come back to Orlando." I say. "I know, I know. I'm sure your moms will let you fly out whenever. But you can't miss school. And I'm a teacher so I definitely want you staying in school." She says. Her phone then pings. "That is the sound for my Uber. I'm sorry Paigey." She says. We pull away from each other and she wipes my tears. "I love you." She says and kisses the top of my head. "I love you too." I mumble. "See ya soon munchkin." She says. "See ya." I say sadly with a weak fake smile. I watch as she walks out of the hotel then I go back to Mal and I's room.

Once in the room, I open the door quietly and walk in before shutting the door and sinking down it and silently sob. I hear movement within the room, not really caring because I wish Danielle didn't have to go all the way to Portland and who knows when I'll see her again.

"Paige?" Mal asks so i open my eyes to see that she's turned on a lamp and is looking at me. She realizes I'm crying, and she walks over and sits in front of me. She takes my hands and holds them. "What's wrong babe?" She asks. "I didn't want her to go." I say and the tears keep streaming. "I know, I know." She whispers and pulls me into her. Right then my phone vibrates, so I give Mal a kiss on the cheek after she wipes my tears.

Mom: Morning Bubbles, I'm guessing you're awake?

Me: Yeah, I went and waited with Danielle.

Mom: Okay. Well everyone's about to head down to breakfast before everyone has to leave today, so be down there in about thirty.

Me: Okay.

"What's up?" Mal asks me softly as she pulls me up. I've stopped crying now, and I've calmed a bit. "We have breakfast in thirty. Mom was just asking if I was up." "Ah, okay. Are you okay now?" "I will be." I say softly, not looking her in the eyes. She puts a finger under my chin and next thing I know our lips are connected. We pull away a few minutes later when we need air. "Lemme go get ready and we'll head down, okay?" She says and I nod before going and flopping down on the bed. I pull my phone out and text Danielle.

Me: Gotten to the airport yet? I know it's only been a few minutes but the airports not that far.

El: Yeah I'm walking in to it now. Have to get through security and all. Are you okay?

Me: Yeah. Missing you though.

El: I miss you to Paigey. I'm getting close to security so I'll text you later, okay?

Me: Yeah. Text me when you get on, halfway, and when you land, please?

El: Of course, and you do the same. You don't have to do it halfway but just tell me when you've gotten on and landed.

Me: Okay. Love you.

El: Love you too.

I then get another text message.

KK: Sorry I have literally not talked to you since you had to leave for camp! I had some stuff going on after you left and I was trying to take care of it... Anyways, I'm so, so, so, sorry for missing your birthday! I did see a certain someone as a goalkeeper for the national team... YOU FREAKING MADE IT DUDE I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! I know that's partially been your dream. I also think I saw your sister in the stands? Also are you coming back to Orlando today? I kinda forgot when you said you were coming...

Me: Hey KK, don't worry about it. I hope everything is okay now. And thanks lol! And yeah that was Danielle. Moms flew her out for camp so we could see each other. They did it to cheer me up after everything that had happened. And yes I'm coming back to Orlando today 😂

KK: Yaaaaaaaay! Girl I need you back at school. I've been so lonely bro. The girls, aren't really our friends ya know?

Me: 😂😂 Yeah the girls on the team definitely aren't our friends. We don't need them anyways. We got each other.

KK: Right.

"Babe you ready?" I hear Mal ask so I look up. "Yeah. Just hold a sec." I say and text Kaylee back real quick.

Me: I gotta go to breakfast but I'll be back before you know it!

KK: Eat healthy! And see ya!

I laugh then get up and grab Mal's hand and we walk down to breakfast. I'm surprised Mal didn't question me randomly laughing at my phone while typing and all but okay.

Mal's POV

Halfway through breakfast, Paige has to use the bathroom so she leaves to use the bathroom. We're sitting by ourselves talking and eating. We just took a cute ass picture together.

"You can send yourself that pic if you want!" She says while leaving so I laugh and grab her phone from beside me. I use my thumbprint to get in and I go to messages to send it to me. Once done with that, I see she has a conversation with someone named or nicknamed KK? It says Eat healthy! And see ya!. Is this why she laughed? I'd never seen Paige like that earlier. I tap on the conversation and scroll to the top which as only a few messages. I read the message and get a little upset. It seems like Paige could be cheating on me... She wouldn't do that would she? Paige? No, never. I go back to our conversation and exit iMessage so it doesn't look like I was snooping in their convo.

Soon after, Paige returned. It only took us a few minutes to finish our food then we went back to our room. We layed down and were cuddling in a comfortable silence for a little bit before I break it.

"Paige, can I ask a question that may upset you, but ask you to not get upset?" She sits us up and takes my hands and places our hands together in her lap. "Yes?" She says not sure. "Please don't be upset about this, but I did send the pic to myself, but while doing that, I saw a conversation you have with someone. You have the contact name as KK... And I did what I shouldn't have and opened it because their last message looked strange. I read the messages and it made me a bit upset. I thought this is why you were acting weird earlier and I'm asking this as calm as I can and I want you to be one hundred percent honest, please. Paige, are you cheating on me?" I looked down as I asked the last question. "What- no babe, of course I'm not cheating on you. I would never cheat on you. That's my best and well only friend in Orlando and kind of in general besides you. Her names Kaylee but I call her KK. We've always been like this with each other." I mentally facepalm myself at this for being so stupid. "Oh. God I'm so stupid and I invaded privacy. I'm so sorry." I say. "Hey, it's okay. You probably shouldn't have looked through my messages but hey, you asked me about it and I was honest. Don't worry about it. Now you know that it's just my friend alright?" I nod, still looking down. Then my phone vibrates.

Lindsey: You ready to go to Colorado? I'm in the lobby waiting.

Me: Oh shit I forgot. I'll be down in a minute.

Lindsey: Okay.

I sigh.

"I forgot that I have to leave for the airport babe." I say. "I love you." Paige says. We stand up off the bed and hug each other tightly. "I love you too." I finally say and we pull apart to share a quick passionate kiss. I then walk over to my suitcase after making sure I have everything I need before going towards the door. Paige and I share soft smiles as she holds the room door open for me and watches as I disappear around the hallway corner.

- Paige's POV -

After watching Mal go around the corner, I see that the Portland gang is heading out. They had a different flight than Danielle.

"Bye Tobs. Dasani." I say with a smile. "Bye kiddo." Tobin says and we do our handshake as she passes. "Paige." Emily says and we share a hug. "Emily." I retort. "Pressy." I say and we share a hug as well. "Paigey." She says and we laugh. "Bye girls." I say and they continue to walk down the hall. I then go back in the room and grab my suitcase, backpack, and skateboard, before walking down the hall and go to go around the corner. I see Mom and Mama around the corner coming out of the room.

"You ready Bubbles?" Mom asks. "Yeah." I say.

I got Danielle's text during breakfast and I text her once I get on the plane. She said she is halfway to Portland now, and she's bored as hell.

- Orlando -

I texted Danielle when we landed and she is still in the air but not for much longer. We're now back at home and I just finished unpacking when someone barges into my room and tackles me in a hug and I land on my bed.

"Ow what the fuck? Who's on me?" Then the person on top of me laughs and I know it's Kaylee. "Well hello to you too Kaylee." I say. "Sorry I just missed you so much. All that shit while you were gone happened and it was crazy." She said. "What happened?" I ask. "Uhm well... My parents got a divorce, my sister OD'd... She's fine now. Some other shit happened too but we won't worry about that." She says and I just hug her tighter. "I'm sorry." I say. "Ah it's okay. Forget about my problems, what's new with you? Well besides the fact you're on the National Team." She gets off me and we just sit on my bed. I pause for a minute and I feel a smile form on my face as I think about Mal. "Wait I've never seen that smile before." She looks confused. "Wait a god damn minute- you're in a relationship!" I simply nod. "I don't care who or what gender this person is but tell me." She says excitedly. "Okay. I'll introduce her this way and see if you can get it." "Okay it's a her." She says and I nod. "She's got dark hair. She's the same height as me, she's a forward." "Okay so National Team of our country or different?" "Our country." Okay well the only forward your age is, or well only- YOU'RE DATING MALLORY PUGH?!" She yells and I laugh. We hear my moms laugh from downstairs. "Yes I'm dating Mal." I say. "Prooove it!" She draws out. "You can't tell anyone, alright?" She does her lips is sealed thing as I pull my phone out. I then FaceTime Mal, hoping she'd answer.

"Hey beautiful." I say when it connects. "Hey babe." She says and I look over at Kaylee who's frozen in shock with her jaw dropped. I flip the camera and point the phone towards Kaylee. "Someone didn't believe we're dating. Mal this is Kaylee." I say. "Hey." Mal says and laughs. "H- Hi." Kaylee stutters. "B- Big F-Fan." She says and both Mal and I laugh. "Nice." Mal says and laughs again. "Alright, I'll let you go babe." "Okay. Love you." "Love you too." I say and with that we end the call and Kaylee's still in shock.

"Dork." I say.

"Shut the hell up."
