- Paige's POV -
I wake up and I hear talking downstairs.
"There's gotta be a different reason, Alex. You know this." One voice says. Was that Mom? I slowly and quietly get up, before walking out of my room here at Alex's house, before quietly walking down the stairs, and trying not to be seen is out the window because Mama saw me.
"I thought you weren't coming back until late tonight?" I groggily ask. "Well, we heard about many Lake Nona kids getting busted for trespassing." Mom says. "I didn't." I say. "She's telling the truth, guys." Al backs me up. "Alright. Just tell us what happened last night." Mama says and makes me come sit down. "Basically, I was set up. I knew the kid throwing lives in the city but we went to a farm owned by the city and I told them I wasn't gonna trespass. They asked me a question but I walked away. I was starting to walk here but Officer Baker from school forced me to let her give me a ride here. So all in all I didn't go to the party." I say and I feel another pair of eyes on me so I look at Alex to see her looking at me with an expression that's like, tell them. I just slightly shake my head no, but they caught it. "What are you not telling us?" Mom asks softly. I sigh. "Walking away caused me my spot on the team. But I honestly don't care, because it's not fun when none of your teammates talk or listen to you on or off the field." I say and look down. "Hey, who needs a highschool team when you've already made it?" Alex says. "I guess not me." I mumble. "Right." Mom says. "But your mother and I are proud of you for doing the right thing. Maybe freaking Alex out wasn't the best thing but at least you came somewhere you feel safe." Mama says. "Oh yeah, sorry Al." I say as I look up. "No need to apologise, Pai." She says with a smile. I give her a small smile in return. "Well let's get home kiddo, you have to get to school." Mom says. Yeah it's only like 5 right now. "Okay." I hug Alex and pet Blue before we leave.

- At School -
I arrive and get out of my car, starting to walk to the building as I'm checking my email. Both my phone and my coffee gets knocked out of my hands, causing me to look up once I quickly pick my phone up. Shana and Brooklyn stand before me, looking at me angrily.
"Is there a reason why you knocked my phone and coffee out of my hand? I need energy because I feel dead." I say. "You're about to feel a hella lot worse. We know you snitched about the party." Shana says. "I don't know what you're talking about. I walked to my aunt's house last night then went to bed." I say. "Stop lying bitch." Brooklyn says. "Who are you calling bitch?" I ask, now getting upset. I look around to see a large group of students circling around us in the parking lot. "You, pussy sucker." Shana says and I clench my fists but don't move. "You really had to fucking go there." I say as I step up to Shana. All the kids are changing for us to fight. "You just want attention because your little friend got killed because of you." She says. "Shut the fuck up." I say. She nods to Brooklyn and Brooklyn grabs me holding me tightly and before I know it as I'm trying to get out of her hold, a fist connects with my face. There becomes more contact with my face and then someone kicks me in my side after I'm laying on the ground before more punching occurs on my stomach. I can't open my left eye, I can feel blood running down my chin from my lip, and my nose hurts but I don't think it's broken. A few officers get them off of me and I'm just lying on the ground in pain.
A male officer tries to touch me but I painfully pull away from him. "I don't trust males." I say then spit away some of my blood. Then Officer Baker and Danielle? Uh oh... Anyways, they help me up and help me walk to the nurse's office.
After having ice to put on not only my eye, but my nose as well since it's a big ice pack, my lip has stopped bleeding, and my ribs are wrapped, I'm sitting in a chair in the office with Danielle. School doesn't start for another fifteen minutes. I always come early.

"WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED OUT THERE?! WHY WERE YOU GETTING YOUR...... BUTT HANDED TO YOU?" Danielle is freaking out. "We're at school, aren't you supposed to be Miss Jayco? And keep your voice down, my head hurts." I say. My head is literally fucking bumping. "School hasn't started yet and I'm your sister." She says. "But seriously." She says. "I was set up last night. Officer Baker came across me last night as I was walking to Alex's since moms weren't in town. A kid held a party at a city owned farm and they were trespassing. Officer Baker kinds forced it out of me and the police shut it down last night and I'm the snitch so this is why that happened." I say. "You're not a snitch. And you're a good kid. But stop getting in trouble." She says. "I DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING WRONG!" I say kinda loudly. "I WOULD'VE PUNCHED SHANA FIRST BECAUSE OF WHAT SHE CALLED ME, BUT I DIDN'T." I say, still a little loud. Bitch didn't bother me, but the other one did. "What'd she call you?" I just shake my head. She keeps trying to ask me questions but I don't answer. The principal leads Shana and Brooklyn into the lobby from his office as soon as moms walk in. "Ah your parents are here Paige. Come to my office please, Miss Jayco, you can get ready for class." I get up and hand my backpack to Mom before following them into his office and Shana and Brooklyn smirk at me.
"Take a seat please." He says and we all sit down in front of his desk with me in between moms. "So, Miss Harris and Miss Krieger Harris, the behavior of the two others are definitely unacceptable. They are both being suspended for the next week. I was told that Paige had said some things about the two on social media, is that correct?" He says. "What?! The last thing I posted on any of mine was during camp and that was about training. I didn't talk to Shana or Brooklyn until yesterday when they sat with me at lunch, inviting me to a party!" I say. "Party?" The principal says. "Yeah. They set me up last night because they knew I wouldn't trespass. Officer Baker came across me as I was walking to my aunt's. She asked what was going on and I eventually had to tell her so the police shut it down. They called me a snitch. And they did all this because of that. They also kicked me off the team but I don't care about that and Shana said something that I can't repeat due to it being about my sexuality." I say and the principal's eyes widen. "What'd she say, sweetie?" Mama asks. "Was it what teens usually use?" Mom asks and I look to see her mouth d**e. "No it wasn't that." I say. "Can you write it down?" The principal asks. "Sure." I say and he had a me a post it so I take a pen and write it before handing it to him. "That's totally unacceptable. Her parents will be notified about this as well. Paige, if you want to go home you're absence is excused." He says. "Thanks." I say, and we get up and leave. I silently walk to my Jeep with Mom since she's gonna drive me home, and Mama drives Mom's Jeep.
"What'd she call you, Nemo?" Mom asks, breaking the silence as she drives. "Pussy sucker." I say not looking away from the window. "Don't listen to that little bitch. She's just jealous because she doesn't have someone as good as you have." Mom says and that makes me let out a small laugh, bit it hurts to laugh because my head hurts.
Once we got home, Mama sat me on the couch so she could look at my bruised face. Then I showed her my stomach but my ribs were wrapped so... Anyways.
School sucks.

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
