《I'm A Krieger Harris》Chapter Thirty Two

- Paige's POV -
It's literally almost midnight but Mom just texted me asking if I could come to her and Mama's room.
I head down the hall and to their bedroom, which the door is open so I walk in.
"What's up?" I ask when I see them sitting on the bed.
"Ash told me you two were gonna talk with me about something you two were talking about earlier?" Mama asks. "Uhm... Yeah." I say nervously.
She motions for me to sit in between them on their bed so I do.
"So, what is it sweetie?" Mama asks.
"I... Uhm... Uh..." I don't know how to tell her. I mean I've told Mom but I cannot tell Mama for some reason, and thankfully Mom comes to the rescue.
"Paige has decided..." She starts for me. "I.... I'm not going to college." I say slowly. "If you're not going to college, there must be something else.... And that is?" Mama says softly. "You're not upset that I'm not going to college?" I ask.
"No, why would I be?" She asks. "Paige I told you she would not be mad basically." Mom says. "I know." I say.
"But... I'm gonna go pro." I say. "I have offers from multiple teams, here and overseas." I say.
I tell Mama the teams that want me, and I actually know which team I want to join, which all the teams said that if I sign with them before I graduate, I'm protected, which is awesome.
"And who do you want to play for?" Mom asks me, since I didn't actually tell her.
"I want to play for..." I tell them and they smile.
"Are you sure?" They both ask.
"I'm sure." I say. I explain that I'm gonna be protected by any team I choose and all.
"Well, contact the manager tomorrow and we'll help you take care of it." Mama says.

"Thank you." I say and hug both of them. "No problem kiddo." They say.
I then tell them goodnight before heading to my room and to bed.
-
It's now the next morning and I'm heading to school. I'm dressed in this:
I get to school early like usual and get into first period first, like usual and I'm the only student here.
"Hey." Danielle says. "Hey." I say back before I sit down.
"Are we doing anything in here today?" I ask my sister. "Nope, catching up on work." She says. "And you're all caught up because you're ahead smarty." She says and I smile underneath my mask, not remembering she can't see it.
"I'm smiling, I forgot you can't see." I say and she laughs.
"So how're you and Sonny?" I ask as I pull up my email. "We're good." She says. "Do I need to kick her ass at any point?" I ask. "Nope." She laughs. "Mkay." I say and begin typing out an email to the manager of the team I wanna play for.
"Could you read this email and see if it's any good? I'm not good at writing these." I say after a little bit. There's one other person here, and it's that bitch Shana.
"Yep. Also, seems like it's just you two today." My sister says as the bell rings. That causes the air to become tense between all three of us.
Danielle makes her way over to my table and I put my laptop to where she can see it. We haven't been able to see each other in person lately without being masked and distanced but we'll be meeting up again soon.
"Oh my God, Paige, you're...?" Danielle asks in excitement. "Going pro? Yeah." I say. "I'm so happy for you! I'd hug you if I could." She says and I nod. "But yes the email is fine, just hit send." She says. "Thanks." I say.

I kind of forgot about the bitch in the room while seeing my sister happy for me.
"Going pro right away? That's a dumb move." I hear Shana say a little louder than I think she intended to.
"Excuse me?" I speak up. "I didn't think you'd hear me." She says and turns to face me.
"Well why'd you even comment? You got a problem with me making my own decisions? Knowing what's good and not good for me?" I ask as I close my laptop.
"I think it's a dumb move and a dumb decision." I glance towards Danielle who's watching us. "And you haven't played in almost a year, who even wants to sign you?" She says and I laugh as I shake my head.
"You're such downright asshole that is just trying to fuck over my head because you know I'm sensitive. Fuck off." I say, causing my sister's eyes to widen. She's never heard me go off like this.
"You bitch." Shana says.
"Detention today, both of you." My sister says as she's writing us up.
I just sigh.
"You got me into this." Shana says. "No I didn't. Get your head out of your ass and act like a mature person." I say.
"Like you a-"
"Shana, just stop talking and catch up on your work. Paige, just do whatever and be quiet." Danielle says and I nod to what she told me to do when she hands me my detention slip.
I decide to text Moms.
Me: I'll be home a little late today
Mama: Okay sweetie
Mom: Why though?
Me: Detention...
Mama: FOR WHAT?! School literally just started for you.
Me: I don't know how to explain it.
Mom: Okay, we'll see you when you get home.
_
Well, it's been almost all of detention and I've just been sitting here with the five other kids, but I haven't done anything but look out the window as I sit in this classroom.
The classroom door opens and slowly, the one and only Kelley O'Hara walks in, confusing me. She doesn't notice me but she walks to the principal. There's also no mistaking her under a mask.
"Just wanted to say thank you, again for inviting me to help train with the girls team." She talks quietly to the principal. "You're welcome, O'Hara." The principal says. I think that's when Kelley looks up and notices me, causing her to raise a brow before she speaks to the principal again, and I can't understand what they're saying.
I see her nod and part of a shocked look on her face.
She soon leaves and we're also able to leave, thank god. That was terrible.
I make my way to the back parking lot and to my car, which see Kelley leaning on the hood of her car next to mine.
"Didn't know you were the detention type." She says with a smirk. She took her mask off.
"I'm not." I say. "I just stayed what went through my mind and it simply came out more colorful than intended." I explain.
"Mmmm okay..." Kelley says.
"Anyways, before you go, how's my goddaughter?" Charlie has gotten so big.
"She's great, growing fast." Kelley says and I nod. "Which I better be getting home, you know how they are." She says and I laugh.
"See ya." I say. "See ya kid." She says and gets in her car.
I then get into my own car and make my way home.
I immediately go in, avoiding everyone and taking a shower before taking my dirty clothes to the laundry after.
Time to see my fate for detention.
