- Paige Krieger Harris - Few Days Later -

Today is an off day, and I decided to get up early to make the drive to Houston to see Jade. She doesn't know I'm coming, but I also don't think she knows I'm even in Texas right now.

It's about nine thirty-ish and I just pulled up to her house. I mean she gave me her address in case I was ever around and wanted to stop by. I'd say she's home since there's a black car in the driveway and a police cruiser, so...

I turn off my car before getting out and heading to door. I ring the doorbell, and wait a second. Soon, I see a figure moving the small curtain beside the door and I see Jade looking out, making me smile at her. A smile forms on her face and the door opens.

"What're you doing in Houston?" She asks. "Camp is in Austin." I say. "Really? That's like almost three hours away though." She says, and I nod. "Today is an off day, so I thought I'd give you a visit, plus we need to talk still, so yeah." I say and she nods. "Well, come in." She says and takes my hand gently, leasing me into her house.

"This is nice." I say as I look around. "Thanks." She says.

"Can I get you anything? Water, coffee, soda...?" She asks. "Not right now, thanks." I say. "No problem." She says as she leads me into the living room and we sit down.

I laugh when I see a bulldog passed out on its bed.

"That's Cap, short for Captain." Jade says with a laugh. "Cute." I say, and internally my mood dims a bit because I miss Coco, but she got sick.

"Cap, wake up boy." Jade says. The bulldog opens his eyes, and when he sees me, he gets up and stretches before running over.

"Hi." I say and pet him for a few seconds and he lays down on my feet and passes out again.

"He's lazy." Jade says. "I can see that." I say and we laugh.

"Ah, anyways." I say. Jade moves to where she's next to me and I lay my head on her shoulder.

"You know, I like you a lot. Like a lot, a lot." I say. "And I like you a lot, like a lot." She says and I smile. "I know that currently I'm residing in a different country for my job, and we just happened to meet because you were on vacation, but I feel like we are being pulled to each other." I say. "I do, too." She says. "But what should we do?" I ask softly, and it goes quiet for a few minutes, as we're both thinking.

I was playing with Jade's fingers when she intertwined her hands with mine.

"What would you think if we tried us? As a couple? I mean if you don't want to and want to wait, that's perfectly fine. I'm not going to force you into anything, Paige." She says softly, and I think for a minute.

"I like that idea." I say and look up at her. "Yeah?" A small smile appears. "Mhm." I say. Jade brings up one of my hands and kisses it.

"Paige Krieger Harris, will you be my girlfriend?" She asks. "Yes." I say with a smile, then we share a kiss. After, I lay my head back on her shoulder.

"Cap is heavy." I say with a small laugh. "I'm sorry. Cap, boy. Go to your bed." Jade says, and the bulldog listens, moves off my feet, and goes to his bed. "He was fine, just heavy." I say. "Mm I'm still sorry. I've tried dieting him, but y'know." She says and we laugh. "He just eats and eats." I say. "Yep." She answers.

After a little bit, the doorbell rings, confusing us. "Expecting anyone?" I ask, as I move so she can get up. "No." She says.

After a minute, she comes back with an Amazon box.

"Forgot I was expecting shit." She says and laughs. "Ah, I do that a lot." I say and she nods. She sets the box down and sits again.

She looks at me with a small smile for a little bit, causing me to grow more and more confused over the little bit.

"What?" I ask.

"You're so beautiful." She says, making me blush and look down. She laughs softly. "It's true." She says. "You are, too, J." I say and look back up. "But you're more beautiful." She says and pecks my lips. "Eh... I beg to differ." I say and straddle her lap. "Mmm begging not permitted in this situation." She says, and I give a soft laugh before we kiss.

We start to make out for a bit.

After a while, my phone starts ringing.

"Are... You gonna... Get that?" Jade asks between kisses. "I guess." I say and quickly kiss her one more time before pulling my phone from my pocket to see it's Oakley.

I answer it as I sit up.

"Hey Oak, what's up?" I ask and hope it doesn't sound like I can't breath. "Hey! Where are you?" She asks. "Visiting a f- friend." I say and stutter as I smack Jade's hand away when she starts slowly moving her hand up my shirt and caressing my abs.

"Oh." Oakley says in a sad tone. "Why, what's up? I know that tone, sis." I say. "Oh... I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out. You're usually busy at camp along with everyone else, and when you're not at camp, you're in a different country so we never get to do anything really." She says.

"I know, Oak. I'm sorry that I'm busy all the time." I say, and Jade's phone starts ringing so I let her up so she can get it off the coffee table.

"I know you are, but it just comes with your job." She says. "Hey, how about I come back to Austin and we hang for the rest of the day then whenever I have some free time between training and team stuff I'll be with you?" I ask.

"Sounds great, but I don't want to interrupt your time with your friend." She says. "Hey, don't worry, they'll understand." I say. "Are you sure?" She asks. "Yeah, of course Oak." I say. "Okay. See you later?" She says. "Yep. See ya." I say. "Okay. Bye Pai." She says. "Bye." I say then end the call.

I realize Jade disappeared.

"Jade?" I say as I get up.

"Hm?" I hear and boots hitting the floor. "My sister is wanting to hang out since we don't get to that much, so I'm gonna head back to Austin. I'm sorry." I say, but then see Jade buttoning up her uniform shirt.

"Don't be, I get it. Plus, I was just called into work anyways." She says. "Oh." I say, but daaaaamn she looks hot in uniform. "Ugggh I hate that I have to go to work. I love my job but I wanna be with you." She says and leans down to peck my lips.

Yeah, you know how I'm like 5'4? Well, she's like six foot so... Yeah.

"Damnit, these buttons literally hate me." She says, making me laugh. "Stop, stop." I say and move her hands away before buttoning up her shirt for her. "There." I say. "Thank you." She says, and I nod. That's when I notice the gun on her belt, making me back up.

I don't do good around those things.

"What's wrong?" She asks me in confusion and worry. I can't speak but I just point to her holster.

"Oh... It's secure and the safety is on, nothing's gonna happen." She says, but I stay quiet and nod slightly.

"I should probably get going." I say, and she gives a sad look but nods.

She then takes her gun out of the holster, causing me to tense but I watch as she lays it on an end table and it faces the wall.

She walks over to me since I moved towards the door, and wraps me in her arms.

"I never use it outside of work, I promise you. When I'm not using it, it is secure and the safety is on. I would never use it on anyone unless for self defense, and I would definitely never, and I mean never use it on you." She whispers and kisses the top of my head. "Y- You promise?" I ask after pulling away a bit so we can look each other in the eye. "I promise." She says, and we share a small kiss.

"Sorry, I just don't... Have a good past with those things." I say. "Don't ever apologize for that, I understand." She says and I nod.

"Now, you be careful on the drive back." She says. "I will. Be careful with work." I say, and she nods. "Bye, beautiful." She says. "Bye." I say and we kiss one more time before I exit the house and she watches as I drive away.

- Later -

I finally just got back to the hotel in Austin and it's about six thirty.

I walk into the lobby and see some of the girls.

"Ah, Paige is back from her random disappearance." I hear the voice of Brunn.

"Yes." I say.

"Where'd you even go, kiddo?" Kelley asks. "Somewhere." I say. "Well duh." The few that are down here say.

"Wait a damn minute..." I say and turn to the dark haired woman sitting next to Carli. "Hopey!" I say and all of them laugh. "Hey, kid." She says with a smile and I lean down to hug the former goalkeeper. "You smell like cologne." She says in confusion when we pull apart.

"Shhhh." I sound quietly.

"Ah, so that's where that smell came from. Were you visiting a guy?" Sonnett asks, causing me to look at her. "You really think I'm still partially straight?" I ask, making everyone laugh. "So you were with a woman." Kelley says and wiggles her eyebrows.

"I know who it was." Tobin says nonchalantly. "Toooooobin, noooo." I whine. "Who?! Wait are they a footballer?" Someone asks. "No! And stop, I want to keep something to myself for once." I say. "Leave the poor kid alone." Hope says. "Thank you." I say and she nods.

"I'm gonna go find Oakley." I say and they all say bye before I head off to find my little sister.

"Who's wearing cologne out of who I just walked past?" Lindsey asks with a laugh on our floor. "I'm not wearing it but I smell like it apparently." I say. "It smells good though, you're good." She says. "Ah." I say.

I find Oakley's room and knock. Soon it opens.

"Hi." I say with a smile. "You actually came back to hang?" She says. "Yeah." I say with a smile. "Ugh I feel bad." She says as she lets me in her room. "Don't, your my little sister. I'm down to hang whenever. Plus, my friend got called into work so they understood as well." I say. "Oh." She says and I nod.

"That took you a while to get here. Where were you?" She asks. "Houston." I say. "Ohhhh. Fun." She says and I nod.

"So, what do ya wanna do?"

A/N - Hey everyone! Sorry for like not having any updates for any of my books the past couple days! I've been without wifi so of course I've not been on my phone much. I'm using someone's hotspot currently, but here's a double update for you guys.

(Also no one cares but I found the first three seasons of Grey's on DVD yesterday and got them for thirteen dollars all together! But sadly I can't have them until a month from today which is my Bday:( Buuuut on the other hand I also got Bend it Like Beckham so that's cool 😎)
