《Harrisons - The Last Chapter》Chapter Ten: The Wedding Day (Part II)

"Do you have any wedding jitters?" Marcus asked Silas, who was currently trying to get his bow tie straight.
Silas paused and looked at Marcus, who had Ella sleeping on his shoulder while he stood near his brother, all dressed and ready for his brother's wedding. "You are kidding me, right? I have been dying to marry Maria." Silas chuckled – his eyes glinted as he spoke about it. It was the truth. He couldn't wait to marry her again, especially since a threat named Sean was dangling over his happiness – he doesn't want him to get in between him and Maria.
"Again," A bored voice spoke from the corner of the room. Marcus and Silas turned their heads to see Leo, dressed in a black suit and blue tie around his neck – playing with his cellphone. Even with the two sets of eyes on him, he didn't look back at the brothers. Leo has been sitting silently in the corner of the room since his father and Owen left to get some work done. Silas even forgot that his soon-to-be brother-in-law was still present among them. Leo heaved a sigh and bored his eyes on Silas – he still isn't fond of this man that broke his sister's heart once, but for the sake of his sister – he doesn't vocalize it anymore. But the way he looks at Silas screams it all – Leo Wayne doesn't like Silas Harrison. "You are marrying my sister again, or did you forget about the time you broke her heart and accused her of a shit load of bullshit?" Leo spoke tediously.
Silas slowly blinked. Even though Leo and Elizabeth are in a relationship. Even after one of the ex-lovers or something of Leo tried to hurt his sister – still Silas couldn't intimidate him. It has always been Silas who gets nervous around Leo. He still vividly remembers the punch he received from Leo when Maria got into an accident. He does not doubt his head that Leo is very much able to beat him into pulp if he even unintentionally hurt Maria. On the other hand, Marcus seemed to be amused by Silas's sudden stillness.
Leo slowly got on his feet and walked towards Silas. Silas almost stepped back in fear. He knows Leo is not going to hurt him, but still, that man leaves him trembling. Silas doesn't think he has ever been scared of anyone more than Leo in his life. "Let me make something clear, Harrison," Leo spoke to Silas, "If you ever thought about hurting my sister again, I swear to God, you will be six feet underground even before a tear reaches Maria's chin. I will not hesitate to kill you," Leo raised his eyebrow at Silas, who gulped.
Marcus pressed his lips in between his lips – trying to suppress the laughter. He wanted to take his phone out and tape the look at Silas's face. "Do you understand?" Leo asked sternly – glaring into Silas's eyes.
Silas quickly nodded and unintentionally spew, "Yes, sir." In complete panic. His response almost had Marcus rolling on the floor. Silas closed his eyes tightly as his cheek flushed with embarrassment, while Leo was taken back by his response – he didn't think Silas would call him sir. He didn't care. Leo rolled his eyes and with a final nod – left the room.
"Sir? Seriously, Silas? Sir?!" Marcus laughed as soon as Leo walked out.
Silas rolled his eyes, He wanted to punch himself – what got into him to even call Leo sir! "Shut up," he mumbled hotly. "I swear to God, one of these days I am going to piss myself around him." He added – only for Marcus to laugh louder – waking a peacefully sleeping Ella up. Ella bawled her eyes out as she cried out loud – this time Silas laughed.

"Were you bullying my brother again?" Elizabeth asked as soon as Leo walked into the same room as hers.
Leo popped a piece of candy Kathie gave him in his mouth. Grape, he liked it. "Yes," He replied nonchalantly.
Elizabeth sniggered, "It is his wedding day, Leo. Maybe you should cut him some slack," She shrugged as she put on eyeliner while she glanced at Leo through the vanity mirror. Leo smirked as he stared back at her and chuckle. He didn't answer her back nor did she want him to. "Damn, I never get them right," She mumbled to herself as she tries to put on a thin line of liner over her upper eyelash.
Leo chuckled as he was leaning against the wall with his arms folded. He discerned how Elizabeth's nose turns pink when she is frustrated – like right now. She wasn't getting it right so her wrinkled nose was turning pink. She heard him chuckle and glanced at his reflection in the mirror, "What?" She asked – slightly agitated with his amusement.
Leo shook his head, "Nothing, I am just very happy that I will be seeing this sight for the rest of my life," He shrugged.
His words made her stomach twist in knots. Rest of their lives. She is only moving in with him at this point and she surely loves him. She tilted her head as a small smile stretched on her lips at the thought of being with him for the rest of their lives. She could get used to the thought, but she also doesn't want to get too comfortable with the idea – what if she is perceiving it wrong. She doesn't want to get her hopes up and then see them fall and shatter.
"If you see this man anywhere around here today, report it to me. And if I am not around report it to Marcus, okay?" Silas was furious at the thought that even it was the most anticipated day of his life, he couldn't focus on just his happiness before he has a man to worry about – Sean. The head of the security team nodded his head as he glanced at the surveillance picture of Sean. He was seen outside the venue hardly an hour ago. Silas doesn't want that man to get in at any cost.
Marcus heaved a sigh and glanced at his wristwatch. There are still two hours left for the wedding ceremony to take place. He was hoping that Sean or anyone else wouldn't come to ruin it now. His brother and Maria has already been through hell – for once they deserve to go through it with peace of mind. "Silas, you should go and see where dad is. I will take care of this. I will make sure that everything stays in order." He told his brother.
Silas only nodded his head with a scowl on his face before he walked away. Marcus blew his cheeks out. Sean and Elna have been like bans in Silas and Marcus's life. Although, Elna did not try to contact her after he asked her to stop. He did what she asked of him. He got her a job and that was all he was willing to give her. Even when Marcus is willing to believe that Elna will not cause problems for him, he can't shake off the fact that she is Sean's sister – he could never completely trust her. He has been keeping it from Charlotte, she was already angry that Marcus once went behind her back and tried to help Elna – he can't afford to dent his relationship again. Knowing Charlie, she will not be very forgiving when she will learn that even after asking Marcus to stop staying in contact with Elna – he didn't stop. He gulped uncomfortably at the thought of losing her.

Elna clutched the hot cup of coffee in between her palms while her eyes were fixed on the steam coming out of it, "You don't understand, do you? Do you think Marcus will not marry Charlotte? Elna, she is his fiancée – they will be getting married and you will lose him," Sean tries to knock some sense into his sister's head – who doesn't seem to understand the situation.
Sean and Elna were in a small coffee shop – hardly a few miles away from where the entire Harrison and Wayne family come together to be a part of Maria and Silas's wedding. Just the thought of Maria being married to Silas gives him a foul taste in his mouth.
Sean was initially hired by Ruby Harrison to sweep Maria off her feet and take her far away from Silas Harrison, but as he spends more and more time with her – he couldn't help and fall in love with the woman. She was everything Silas was not and he didn't see the point of her being in love with him. When the truth came out about his true identity – he ran away but with a hope in his heart that when he returns Maria will forgive him for trying to manipulate her happiness.
When Sean was away he tried to forget about her, but the more he pushed her memories away – the deeper he fell in love with her – to the point he somewhat became obsessed with her. He tried to move on – he did, but when he saw her again – he knew that all his struggles to try to forget her went into vain.
He believed that Silas and Maria will not go further than a relationship, but when he learned that they adopted a child and were getting married. His obsession with her has gone to the point where he doesn't even care about her happiness – he just doesn't want to see her with Silas. Sean is not a fool, he knows that she could never be as happy with him as with Silas, but doesn't care. If she can't be with him – he doesn't want her to be with anyone else either – especially Silas Harrison.
Elna's palms were burning with the heat but she was completely lost in her thoughts to care. "What makes you think I didn't already lose him, Sean?" She finally removed her hands from around the cup and looked at her brother. Sean opened his mouth to say something but Elna continued, "I never had him, Sean. I screwed up any chance I had when I agreed to help Ruby. Even if I help you, I can never have him to me. And let's be honest, Sean, neither can you achieve anything from it. Maria doesn't love you – hell, she doesn't even like you. Don't try to ruin things more. Think about your future without her – worry about your son not whom she marries. Find someone that likes you for you. Your obsession with Maria will not take you anywhere." She sighed as her eyes get misty. "I am moving on – you should too or else, you will end up hurting her as well as yourself." She told him before she gathered her bag and walked out of the coffee shop. Sean clenched his jaws as he saw his sister walking away. He didn't care for a word she said – he will do anything to ruin them – with or without his sister's help. He stands by his words, if he can't be with Maria then she doesn't deserve to be with anyone else either.
Charlotte stared at herself in the mirror. Her once long hair was cut into a short bob. A ghost of a smile curled on her lips. She liked her new look. She had already done her makeup for the ceremony. Charlie didn't go overboard with it. Her hair had rollers in them while she wore a silk robe. Her tea pink dress was ironed and was waiting to be worn by her. She had decided to wear a tiny diamond locket that Marcus gifted her last wear with small diamond studs. It was a delicate piece of jewelry, just like she likes it.
Charlie looked down at her engagement ring and smiled, she couldn't wait to wear a wedding band along with it. Her eyes fell on her face again as she let out a shaky breath – Marcus and her hand come a long way. They have crossed so many barriers in their lives – it was about time to have their happy ending.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. She had to ask Marcus to bring Kathie up so she could help dress the girl while Marcus goes and be with his brother. She opened the door and saw Willam instead – she was taken back but then her eyes fell on Kathie that held his hand and was smiling at her mother. "Oh, hey." She greeted William – who seemed a little flushed before her eyes went on Kathie, who took his small hand away from Willam's loose grip and rush inside the room.
"Mr. Harrison asked me to bring Kathryn to you, Mrs. Harrison," William spoke. His eyes for merely a second made to her clothing before he looked away – his cheeks turned pink. Charlie knitted her eyebrows and look down to see that she was wearing a silk gown.
Her eyes slightly widened as she angeled the door before she nodded her head gratefully to him, "Thank you, William." She said. With a nod and a smile, William walked away.
Charlie slapped her forehead, she thought it would be Marcus, not his assistant. She turned to look at Kathie looking through Charlie's makeup box, "Where is dad, Kathie?" Charlie asked.
Kathie shrugged, "He was on a phone," She answered without looking up at Charlie – she was more interested in the makeup Charlie had with her. Charlie chuckled and shook her head. Kathie was growing up so fast – that's an absolute nightmare for Marcus.

To make matters worse, he wakes up near Bunker Hill, mere hours before the famed Battle of Bunker Hill is set to begin. Author's Warning: The story is very rough in the first few chapters (and as some readers pointed out, some parts are laughable, such as "American idealism"). However, the pace and quality of the story improves from chapter four and onwards. You will enjoy the story if you have some interest in history, worldbuilding, and the butterfly effect (along with a few badass characters). So even if you are a bit turned off in the beginning, I promise that the story improves quickly.
