He found it odd since he distinctively remember Camille telling him all the patients here were given sleeping pills. He opened the gate and walled in. Past room 425, 426, 427... He started jogging room 429, 430 and stopped at the familiar room 431 where he heard voices and whimpering.

"Please I won't see him again... I promise father.... You don't have to do this " Alec cried. Magnus quickly opened the door to see the books on Alec's counter knocked over, the bed sheets on the floor and Alec tossing and Turing on the bed drenched in tears and sweat.
"Alexander wake up" magnus said gently shacking him. Alec opened his eyes and jumped back startled when he saw him but slowly came down when magnus put his arms around him.
"It was just a dream. Your okay" magnus whispered to him soothingly and Alec cried in his arms. Magnus hushed him softly. He hated Alec's father from his core he had scared the beautiful angle that was his Alexander.
"Magnus" Alec called grabbing magnus's shirt. Magnus tightened his arms around him and slowly Alec fell back asleep. Magnus stayed with him the rest of his night. Alec woke again around dawn.
"Alexander we need to get up before the nurses come in " magnus said alec let go of him but still didn't move his head from where it comfortably sat on magnus's shoulder. Magnus ran his fingers through Alec's messy hair and alec hummed in approval. He moved his hands to Alec's neck and he felt alec tremble his hands clenching and unclenching. When magnus's hand was between Alec's shoulder blades alec sat up tears already formed in his eyes.
"Alexander? " magnus called questioningly
"He had chains" alec said and magnus froze where he sat. Alec spoke with a pained voice. Like every work he uttered hutted him.

"He had chains nailed to the wall... He used to chain me up in the basement for weeks at a time... And he hit me till he tiered. The punishment ranged from time to time based on what I had done. But it was always about me being unhealthy in the head.... He said that I was sick. He tried to beat it out of me... But that day... A year ago I couldn't take it... I couldn't take the beating anymore so I collapsed and when I woke up I was here admired as a mental patient. I was at last free from him safe so I decided to play the role he gave me to stay locked up in here. All the doctor treated me as if I would blow. Like I was some animal. But you treated me like a person, you takes to me. I thought I would die in this place before someone truly understood me and yesterday night you being there when I woke up from my night mare showed me although you don't understand completely your trying. Thank you for that" alec confessed and magnus listened to him intently
"Why did he beat you, Alexander? Your records show that you were the perfect son" magnus asked
"Not perfect enough as he put it I had no major flaw" alec said and turned to magnus " you see I'm... I'm gay and I fell in love with my adoptive brother" alec stated

"Why did his parents pass away as they did, forcing him to fend for his own?" "Why wasn't he born in a rich household, with a silver spoon in his mouth that catered to his every need?" "Why was every step forwards so difficult, in this accursed society?" He wished that everything would be easy, like inside the worlds of the wuxia novels that he had grown up reading. Special constitution, lucky breaks, fast powerup, get all the chicks and defeat the big evil guy. Simple, easy, satisfying. But life ain't cut out to be that way. The main actors were already set, and there was no changing them. Unless, you moved to a different stage... But this ain't one of your friendly neighborhood transmigrations. It rewards those that are patient, creative and willing to adapt. But perhaps Cilen is able to make use of this opportunity and become something more. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ This story is a personal love letter to all the pieces of fiction that I have read. Its a culmination of the things that made me laugh, cry and smile when I first read them and It has been a personal wish to craft a story that makes me feel the way I did when reading those stories for the first time.
