《The Best Chef in Konoha (Choji Love Story)》Chapter 1

I headed towards the Academy not really caring if I'll be late or not. I was disappointed today because I failed to make my lunch like I wanted to. The taste, the smell, even the texture were all not what I wanted. It was all in utter failure and now I am punished by eating my own food. I'm not saying that it's not good it just didn't come out like I wanted too. I even woke up early just so then the matron wouldn't scold me for using their resources. I should further my punishment by memorizing two new recipes by the end of the day. I reach the Academy without realizing, walking in and ignoring everyone around me. I go to my class and sit in the back of the room where hopefully nobody talks to me. I can be very invisible if I want to, sometimes Iruka-sensei forgets to call on me to perform the clone technique. I know all about chakra because I forgot my recipe book one-time so I normally don't pay attention. I already told the Hokage that I didn't want to be a ninja so it's fine if I don't pay attention. Class began as Iruka-sensei came in. Everyone became quiet and paid attention to him. I took out my book and began to memorize a recipe for pork cutlet but not even ten minutes into the class a ninja came in and something about Naruto. Iruka-sensei said a couple of words than walk out of the classroom.
It was lunch time, the most dreaded time for me. Reminding me of the failure that I have with me. Most of the students went out leaving a couple of kids who I didn't even bother to remember their names. I take out the bento and open it seeing Teriyaki Salmon Onigirazu, plain rice, and sausage octopus. I sigh in disappointment. I really don't want to eat this. It'll only make me feel like more of a failure. Maybe I should just leave it and not eat today. I took out my book again and began to study again, ignoring the bento in front of me. "Are you gonna eat that?" A voice startled me from my reading. I look beside me and see a chubby boy eating a bag of chips.

"Choji that isn't nice." I hear a lazy voice say a couple of feet away. "Don't be troublesome."
"But I'm hungry." Choji said.
"Are you sure you want this?" I ask looking at him.
He perked up like a dog wanting to go play or go out for a walk. "Of course. It smells amazing. I'm tempted to ask why you're not eating it." He said
"You can have it. It didn't come out like I wanted it to so Its a disappointment to me." I said handing him the bento. "Just make sure I get the box back please."
"Thank you so much. I will." He said going to his seat with a boy who has a pineapple shape hair.
I go back to my study hopefully making sure next time I don't make a mistake next time.
It was the end of the day and I was walking back to the orphanage. I see parents coming and picking up their sons and daughter making me feel jealous. I wish my parents were here, they would probably make me study a lot more and be my guide. Making sure I'm not in this stupid academy. If only you guys were still alive. I walk again heading to the same path where I take every day. "Hey! Missy!" I hear a familiar voice said.
I look back and see the same boy that wanted my lunch. That reminds me, he didn't give me back my lunch box. Behind him seems to be a chubby man that look a lot like him. Must be his father. They came up to me as I waited for him. "Yes?" I said.
"Here's your bento box. It was delicious and everything was just too good to eat." Choji said.

I grab the bento box from his hands. "You actually saved me by eating it anyways." I said.
"Why is that? You know it's not healthy to skip meals. I'm Choza by the way." He said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Mabel. The reason I didn't eat it was because it was a failed meal." I said.
"What are you talking about!? It was amazing." He said.
Anger kinda boiled inside of me. "No, it wasn't! The texture was off, the smell was not right, and the taste was way off when I made it. I put too many spices and the rations were all off. The color is a little burnt and the sausage were a little uncooked." I said.
"Wait you made that?" Choji said.
"Of course I did. One day I'm going to be the best chef in Konoha." I said.
"Your parents must be proud of you." Choza said.
I look down in sadness. "I hope so." I said.
"What do you mean I hope so. If it were me I would be proud." Said Choji
I giggled a little. "It's not that. It's just that my parents passed away a year ago." I said.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Said Choza.
"I'm getting used to it. Anyways I have to go or else the matron is gonna have my head. Bye." I said walking away.
"Bye, see you tomorrow." I hear Choji say.
I walk down the path again and see the orphanage. I walk into a 2 story house filled with noises. "Mabel can I talk to you alone." I hear the matron's voice.
"Yes, ma'am." I said following her into her office.
I sat on the chair and look up to see her folding her arms. "I hear that you haven't been paying attention in the academy and also been ignoring your teacher." She said. Her brown hair in a tight bun and her green eyes staring at me. She looks like a regular middle-aged woman.
"I have no interest in being a ninja so I study my books instead." I said
She bangs her hand on the desk making a loud noise. I didn't flinch getting used to it. "Dammit Mabel, do you know what that Academy can do for you?" She said.
"It could get me killed that's what it could do." I said getting angry.
She sigh. "There's been ingredients missing from the kitchen did you make something again?" She asked.
"Yes." I said.
"You do know what this means right?" She asked
"No dinner." I said.
"That's right. Now go upstairs and finish your homework then go to bed." She said.
"Yes, Ma'am." I said walking out and going to my bed.
Instead of doing my homework I study my cookbook. I will not be a ninja. I will be Konoha's best chef. No matter how much I'll starve or how much I will suffer for this but I will become a chef.

I closed my eyes tightly until I heard laughing. No, I could feel the laughing. My eyes sprang open to find Miles on top of me. I struggled under him and shoved him off of me. All of the guys were howling with laughter as I got up and swiped all the dirt off me.
