magnus's steps were fast and uncoordinated. he was a second away from breaking out running. when he made it to the familiar apartment complex he barged in and took off up the stairs not having the patience to wait for the elevator. when he finally got to the apartment he opened the door with so much force that it banged against the wall and almost hit him in the face.

"Please tell me this is a joke" he growled shoving his phone in Jace's face.

"it's not. he's made up his mind. Izzy is in his room right now trying to talk him out of it" Jace replied running his hand through his hair. Magnus walked past him down the hall towards the only dark-colored thing in the entire apartment, it being the door which was painted dark blue. remembering the time he helped paint it and the way it ended with him and alec being cover with the dark paint more than the door made Magnus's chest tighten. they had to call one of their friends, clary to come paint it right the next day.

Magnus opened the door to find Izzy trying to talk to her brother who was to busy stuffing his clothes in a duffle bag.

"Izzy a moment" Magnus said in a firm tone making her live the room without a word. the second she left the room Magnus closed and locked the room.

"your eloping?" Magnus asked though it was barely a question that needed an answer since it was all over his social media alec nodded his head.

"to lidya" Magnus added his voice obviously strained

"she has been my girlfriend for 3 years and i need to start thinking about my future. my father won't let me pursue my dream if I don't at least let him have his way with this." alec explained

"alexander listen to your self. you sound mad" Mangus said stepping closed and forcefully making alec look at him.

"actually Magnus I've never been saner. I need to do this and so does she. we're helping keep each other's parents of our back. this needs to be done" alec replied yanking his arm out of his best friend's hold

"but what about love?" Magnus asked

"what about love?" alec asked back closing his duffle bag with a tad too much force.

"what about that person you were in love with? what if after you got married you realize that that person has been in love with you the whole time" Magnus said though his heart pained every time alec had spoken to him about his secret love he knew it was his only shot in making him change his mind.

"that doesn't matter. he would never fall in love with me" alec said

"he? alexander? did you just say he?" Magnus asked his heart leaping into his throat

"Just drop it, Magnus. as I said it doesn't matter anymore. I'll be married in a few hours and he will never see me as anything more than a friend." as soon as those words were uttered Magnus's brain started going through all alec's friends that he knew of. the fact that alec only had a small group of friends aiding his search he was able to conclude that alec's secret love was either of two people...Jordan kyle or him. taking a leap of faith Magnus stepped forward turning alec from where he was packing his laptop from his bedside table and kissed him with everything he had been keeping bottled up since their highschool days.

alec's brain stopped working for a few seconds till he realized that his best friend, the love of his life was kissing him. before he decided on how to react he was pressing Magnus against his good and deepening the kiss. magnus's tense body relaxed when he realized the fact that he had made the right call and the fact that alec's secret love was him. almost 10 minutes later they pulled apart to gasp for air.

"your not marrying Lidiya" Magnus muttered against his lips. Alec nodded chuckling.

"and you're not going to drop out of art college" Magnus added. Alec nodded again to blissed out to care about the consequences he would later face.

"and you own me a lot of kisses like that forever time you made my heard ache when you talked about your secret love" Magnus went on. alec's body vibrated with laughter as he nuzzled his throat. he knew that whatever he faced from then on he would be able to get through with Magnus by his side.
