《Debut or Die/ If I fail to debut I'll get a killer disease》[Debut or Die Chapter 028]

I will be honest with you.
If someone asked me if "Burning Like the Sun" was a good song, I'd say yes, but if they asked me if it's a good song for an idol stage, I'd say don't even think about it or even try it.
This is because the song has the lyrics and musical style of a typical 2000s rock band...
You can trust me. I listened to that song every time I went to photograph the idols when they made their comebacks at that time.
It's just an upbeat band song that can't even be used for cheerleading choreography. The good thing is that his song has such high notes that it causes a freshness in those who listen to it, that is advantageous.
In conclusion... the difficulty of the musical arrangement will be too high.
-...
Why don't I have some skill to help me compose? I need it now.
Regardless of how I felt and my doubts, the conversation between the composer and the participants was hopeful. The boys seemed to know only a line or two of the song's addictive chorus.
-My band hasn't been active for a long time, so we haven't sung this song much. I hope you guys do a great job with it.
-We will do our best to give a great presentation!
How will we do it?
...No. I'd better stop stressing myself unnecessarily and think that our team will have normal success and if we don't take a hit from the editing team, we'll be safe.
And if it doesn't go well, I think I'll be able to find a small or medium agency where I can make a debut quickly.
"I always believed that... I could choose our performances to a certain extent."
Strangely, I felt very sad. At first I didn't want to be on this show, so I don't know when or why I started getting so interested in my performances.
"I think that's why some make fun of me for being too immersive and taking it seriously."
-...
...But I like doing it because it's fun.
Alright, I'll just be a little careful what I say about this song. Maybe my colleagues have good ideas.
Before leaving, the composer told us that we would see him again in two days, when we present our progress in the mid-term evaluation with our coaches.
And when he left, we sat down and started the first group meeting where we would finally talk about the composition and arrangements of the song.
* * *
Ryu CheongWoo was the first to give a suggestion.
-What do you think of the concept of cheerleading? I think that would be the best because it will go well with the song. It would also be great to add difficult choreography to it.
-Cheerleaders cheering? Hmmm... It's good that you already experienced it.
-I think it would be fine.
-It should be fun
Cha YooJin and the other two boys replied. Somehow they seemed to agree.
-What do you think? RaeBin, MoonDae and Sejin.
CheongWoo quickly scanned the team members' reactions and noticed the silent participants, including me.
Instead of speaking first, it's best to observe the situation and say the right words later.
So naturally we look in the direction of the other two boys.
-Let's listen to Sejin first. What do you think, Sejin-ah?
-...If we do the cheerleading concept, I think it will look a bit tacky.
As always, he hit squarely with facts.
Until now, Lee Sejin's uncooperative attitude has rarely been shown in broadcast episodes because he hasn't received malicious editing.

When I searched for "Park MoonDae" on social media to find out what the public thought of me, I found that Lee Sejin's fans believed that he was "a guy who tries hard, is sensitive, and is shy."
But since the editors seem to favor CheongWoo, then it is very likely that they will edit this Sejin cut as well.
The good thing is that CheongWoo didn't get angry because of what Sejin said, rather, he asked calmly.
-So, do you have any other concept ideas?
-I haven't thought about it much... that's why I didn't want to talk.
-Hmm, okay. I understand you.
CheongWoo asked RaeBin the same thing again.
-RaeBin-ah, what do you think?
-I don't know this song well, so I think I should listen to it first.
-Okay, let's hear it first.
He looked for the song on the tablet that the staff had provided us. We hear the classic drum intro, followed by the chorus melody played by the electric guitar.
-...
After listening to the entire song, RaeBin muttered with a pale face.
-This is very...
Finally someone else noticed the mess this song meant for us. The lyrics were a youthful love anthem that was very popular many years ago. In a good way, it's kind of retro, and in a bad way, it's old-fashioned.
It also didn't have a concept like that of a flower fairy or a vampire, it was difficult to identify that he had any.
And since it was composed to be sung only by a good singer, the eighth of the chorus was loud enough to rip the throat out.
-What would happen if we adjusted the octave? The charm of the song will disappear.
This is because it is a song that appeals to the euphoria of the high notes that strain the vocal cords.
-Hmm yes, the notes are very high. Did you encounter any other difficulties?
RaeBin inhaled as if he was about to give a speech, but then looked at the camera and closed his mouth.
His attitude was cautious as his image was severely affected by the controversy about his personality after the team battle episode aired.
-About that... yes. The song is good, but it seems that it will be very difficult to make musical arrangements.
-Really? Seeing you say that means it's going to be really hard.
Ryu CheongWoo agreed. Although the editors have ruined Kim RaeBin's image because of the fight he had with another member of his team, his musical opinions were trustworthy because he was the one who chose the best song for his previous team and did the best. arrangements.
"You're right, in the late 2000s, well-made EDM songs were produced with just sample beats, we won't have the same authentic band quality."
-And what do you think, MoonDae?
Finally it was my turn to speak.
-I think we have to decide something else before we think about the arrangement.
-What thing?
-We have to distribute the parts of the song.
Didn't you notice our reactions to the song he played for us? So, we should not yet focus on what we are good at.
We must focus on the most basic.
I am sure that, at this moment, I am the only one in the team who can correctly sing the chorus of this song. If they want to learn and reach the level of singing it perfectly, they need to have a singing ability of A- or higher; sadly, only I have an A grade in singing.
"But I can't be the only one singing the choir."

So we have to share the song with everyone and practice right away. As for the musical arrangement, it doesn't seem like we're in a position to think of a better arrangement, so it might be better to put it off for a while.
This is not the time to see the big picture. We are in an emergency situation.
I wish I could tell you everything I think, but I will explain it to you as gently as possible.
-It's a difficult song to sing, so I think we should practice first.
-Distribute the parts... yes, it is important.
Ryu CheongWoo looked at me in surprise.
-I didn't expect you to say that, MoonDae-ya. In your previous team, didn't you say you had to make arrangements first?
-Eh?
That was not shown in the aired episode, I have no idea how he found out.
-Oh, I heard it from Keun SeJin.
-...
"When did he talk to CheongWoo?"
SeJin is definitely not an ordinary guy.
-RaeBin-ah, I'm asking because you're very good at organizing. What do you think about distribution?
-Yes, that's fine. I'll try to think of various options... while we practice.
Kim RaeBin easily agreed with me, though he had an expression that looked like he saw a meteor about to hit Earth.
-Well, now that we've heard all the feedback, we'll keep going until we come up with better ideas.
CheongWoo wasted no time and immediately cleared up the situation.
-Raise a hand if you're in favor of practicing the cheerleading concept.
Most of them raised their hands, I did too. Ryu CheongWoo did not pay special attention to Lee Sejin, who didn't raise his hand, and immediately moved on to the next question.
-Raise your hand if you want to split the song parts first.
Fortunately, this too was approved by a majority. Seeing that Sejin did raise his hand this time, I guess my explanation made sense.
Just before our eyes met, Sejin lowered his hand and avoided my gaze.
-...
What? Does that mean he agrees with the opinion, but not with me?
-Ok, let's split the parts first.
It seemed that the distribution of pieces progressed step by step, but I soon ran into a predetermined difficulty.
-I don't think I can sing this part well.
-Uh, me neither...
-It has too high grades.
The high-pitched melody of the chorus was to be sung four times, which made up about half of the song.
However, except for me, all of my colleagues failed and grabbed their necks, embarrassed and timid.
One of the guys, who had a B+ grade in singing, was worried about failing grades, so he gave an opinion on that.
-I think it's better to arrange it and lower it's tone when singing. Since we have two rappers, why don't we add some rap?
In other words, arrange the song first. Damn.
But if we tone it down...
Kim RaeBin's expression darkened. If the editors show this cut, the bad impression of him will get worse.
But the other boys agreed.
-I think it would be better to lower it.
-I agree with that.
-Hmm, well, we should all be able to learn it. Why don't we tone it down and fix it to our liking?
RaeBin looked at all of us and finally nodded.
-Yes... Let's do that.
If he refused, he feared the editors would destroy him again.
In the end, the arrangement went through with all the inconsistent opinions like 'tone it down', 'add a rap part' and 'suitable accompaniment for cheerleading concept'.
I can't believe someone who doesn't have a sense of humor can accept something they don't like so easily when their peers are so noisy.
Everything indicates that our presentation will be a disaster. I had no reason to disagree with them, after everything I've said, they rejected me. Even if, with any luck, my ability "Sounds good!" If I convinced them that my opinion was the best, if I didn't give them a proper solution, I would only see myself as a disgruntled participant.
When they said "That's better, let's practice with this", I didn't answer them.
If I told you something, it would be difficult for the public not to think that I am an antisocial person, they might even think that I am very selfish. So I needed someone from outside the team to say frankly that this attempted fix was terribly bad.
"I'll just have to wait."
The mid-term review of our song preview will be in three days. There, the judges and the composer will be present and your ears will suffer. I'll have to think of some alternative until that day comes.
-Now, let's do the choreography!
The choreography that Cha YooJin created that day was just as full of difficult and intense steps as the choreography for "Shining Star." Because of that, I was about to distribute the remaining points of my status window to increase my Dance grade.
It was three days where I tested my endurance and slowly weakened until we got to the mid-term review.
***
-The ranking of this team is spectacular~
-RaeBin chose the best boys!
-They all performed well at the ranking ceremony.
The judges admired that we are the most popular contestants based on our rankings.
The editing team may have told them to mention it beforehand to raise the bar.
-Ah, have you already arranged the song?
-Yes!
They knew because RaeBin had spoken with the staff in charge of the arrangements before.
-That's great~
-Yes, this team is the only one that has done it! They are not going to show us the original song, but theirs that is already arranged.
-As expected, it's a team of talented people!
The judges were pleased at the time, but...
-Hmm...
Once we showed our presentation, we got a lukewarm response. They exchanged glances with their shoulders shrugged and finally took the microphones to speak to us...
-Actually, your presentation itself doesn't feel so...bad? But it is not attractive.
-Well, you did a great job on the choreography. I can see that you were a bit resourceful in creating it. Well, the cheerleading concept is supposed to go well with the song, but why does it feel so gloomy?
-It's a shame you started rapping out of nowhere. You've fixed the song so much that it already feels worse than the original.
As they gave us their criticism, the problems began to show.
Finally, as soon as Judge YoungRin took the microphone, she asked us.
-Who made the arrangement?
She deliberately didn't look at RaeBin, because her question wasn't necessarily about who did the work of editing and improving the song, but who thought of it and proposed it that way.
But that didn't mean much because my teammates looked at RaeBin.
-It was something we all discussed together.
Ryu CheongWoo quickly grasped the situation and turned it into joint and several liability. And as a leader, he seemed to neutralize it by saying that he misled the team.
He made a good decision, but there are always trolls ... even where you don't expect it.
-Yes... and the arrangement was done by RaeBin.
Is he washing his hands like this?
"Is he crazy?''
Why did he say something stupid in front of the cameras that are recording us?
He seemed embarrassed as he was afraid of being coldly criticized and so he blamed someone else.
"I want to cut his balls off."
If RaeBin says something to defend himself, the editors will portray him as a bad boy who bullies others.
I was afraid that the problems would increase, so I spoke up.

The Dawnfire Archives
It begins in the endless wastes, with an unknown man arriving at the bottom of the tallest mountain in existence. A mysterious voice provides few directions, bringing more questions than answers. Regardless, after choosing a name and weapon... the man begins to climb. He will not be alone on this journey. A young individual from a different reality has also made his way to The Climb. But what does their arrival bode for the people of this world? And where does climbing the mountain truly lead? This is my second novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the third being "The Card Thief of Culnivar". This story is much more GameLIT than Xianxia, and takes place in a different setting with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

The Magic Man (Very Dead)
John was a fan of system apocalyspes, so he thought he knew what coming when he got caught up in one. He was wrong. This was an apocolypse in the original sense of the word, an unvieling. There were no ravenous hordes of monsters, no genocidal tutorials, and certainly no aliens from another dimension. Just humans. So John thought, "How can I exploit this?" This is my first story, and I am writing it as I go. Dont expect a regular update schedule or much long-term foreshadowing.

Second Wind, legend of Pandemonium (Finished/Incomplete)
The developers of the worlds leading VRMMORPG Edge Online have decided to shut down its servers after over a decade. Shugireth Darkstar, the leader of Pandemonium, Edge Online's top guild, suffers from a deadly disease and his end is near. He hasn't left his VR pod for 5 years, as the medical nanodroids at the hospital takes care of him. Without Edge, he will die, because his physical body has already been all but destroyed by the sickness. Seeing no light at the end of the tunnel, Shugireth Darkstar, the Master of Pandemonium, stubbornly stays behind as the servers shut down... If that was all, we could end this story right here. However, that was only the beginning of the legend of pandemonium. The prelude to the movement, if you will. Shall we see what happens next? -------------- Some notes from Me (The author, gasp surprise): I first wrote this (100k) as an experiment. I saw the advice about having foils for overpowered MCs, and I watched quite a few lectures on writing. I wanted to test things out for myself and see if I could carry a story through other ways than only relying on physical conflict like some thrillers do. Thus this might lean a bit towards slice of life with a romance subplot, but I don't want to give my story away so read it if u want to know more. This was basically never intended for anyone else's eyes but my own, and written to explore writing as a process. This wasn't my attempt at writing a good book, but it turned into something that I think might interest some people, so I decided to pop it up here. It is slightly old so my style and writing skills have advanced considerably since I first started this thing. Having said that, I think it's pretty readable, but I am very interested in how other people will receive this. Please feel free to criticize it and just in general shoot me some feedback on what you think. It contains light Litrpg elements, not heavy table spam, it's just the basis of the world. Although I like that sort of thing, this was written before I even knew of Royalroad and hadn't considered litrpg much. Some of you may recognize that it was slightly inspired by Overlord. Also, the Tags for sexual content and traumatizing content are there as a precaution on all of my stories pretty much, even if my story does not contain any of that at the moment. I can't really know what the future will bring, but in the case of this story I do know a little bit, since I wrote 100k words before posting it here. And I just posted it on a whim because I figured some readers on Royalroad might enjoy this story.
