《Debut or Die [fan translation]》Chapter 101

It was Sunday, September 23rd.
TeStar's fans, loviewers were saddened by the dried-up content treats.
Of course, TeStar regularly posted news about themselves on social media, and once every few days, the news about advertisements or events were steadily reported.
However, the fans couldn't forget the taste of getting content that poured out at them like a waterfall during TeStar's debut activities.
Fans, whose conscience conflicted with their desire, had to go to sleep in agony until the next coming Monday.
That was until a video came out.
People were screaming and freaking out but still clicked on the video right away.
The video's thumbnail showed a left eye looking through a scope. You couldn't tell if it was a contact lens or CGI but the eye was glowing with a rather eerie purple light.
And soon the video started playing.
What appeared was someone's long leg in black. The outstretched feet, clad in sleek leather pants, strode towards somewhere.
The camera followed the footsteps, moving fast into an illuminated corridor, which had been destroyed and was covered with boards and cloths.
Then the camera moved all the way up from the legs and before you knew it, it showed a left hand wearing black finger gloves. In that same process, a side profile was zoomed in a close-up.
It was Cha Yujin's red hair.
And what was in Cha Yujin's hand... was a worn-out red stuffed toy.
Cha Yujin flipped the stuffed toy over while whistling a familiar melody.
A cogwheel was attached to the doll's back. His right hand gripped the cog without hesitation and began to turn it.
Creak creak.
The sound of the gears turning rang out loudly, and soon a strange sound began to mix with it.
Pi Pi Pi Pipipipipi
Ppi-
Thump.
With a popping sound, the screen went black. The narration began.
The moment the screen brightened again, the background had changed.
It was a half-destroyed playground. The sand had hardened and the goalpost had already been torn down. The moment the aerial shot caught a strange pattern in the middle...
A very heavy beat started to play.

A brilliant string orchestra began to play. It was an urgent-sounding melody of an accompaniment in a minor key.
On top of that, the intense electronic synths started to play riff melodies like the sound of thunder.
//TN: A lot of the lyrics are in English, so when it's cursive then it was originally in English
It was a high-pitched intro.
At that moment, the playground goalpost on the screen exploded. And Cha Yujin appeared from underneath.
Shaking off the dust and sand from his hair, Cha Yujin excitedly kicked the goalpost and ran across the field toward the main gate.
The moment he opened the main door that was covered in dark red ivy vines and strode through, the scene changed.
It was the former actor Lee Sejin looking into a monitor in a blue laboratory full of samples.
Contrary to the delicate impression the glasses he wore gave, there were green and dark red marks on the coat he was wearing.
Lee Sejin watched Cha Yujin run out the gates through the monitor and then got up from his seat.
And as he walked to the front of the barbed iron fence that sealed the lab door, he stopped and read the warning sign attached to it.
The sign had 'biohazard' written on it.
At that moment, the scene changed to someone's hand tearing the same kind of sign in another place.
Holding a torn paper in one hand was Keun Sejin in a neat modern attire. He stood on an old podium as if giving a speech.
And the moment he threw the paper he was holding onto the old barbed wire iron fence.
Thud.
The crumpled paper bounced off the barbed wire helplessly, and the people standing under the podium rushed towards the iron fence.
Keun Sejin shrugged his shoulders, picked up a baseball cap hanging on one side, and put it on his head. And he quietly disappeared from the podium.
At that moment, the camera soared into the sky.
A sniper, armed with modern weaponry from head to toe, was aiming towards something strange over a scope from a rooftop.

A blue light shot from the sniper's gun.
The moment the light hit a palpitating red mass, it exploded.
The camera panned around to reveal the sniper getting up as he threw away his gun. It was Ryu Chungwoo.
As soon as the gun thrown by Ryu Chungwoo fell down the roof, it melted into red and soaked into the asphalt, disappearing without a trace.
Then the camera fell below the asphalt.
Mannequins and all kinds of weapons were piled up half-destroyed in a huge sewer with stagnant water.
Kim Raebin was lying still on top of it. A small ray of sunlight fell upon him but at the same time water dripped down soaking his dark hair and face.
At that moment, Kim Raebin opened his eyelids.
And only his pupils moved to look to the side.
The camera moved along his eerie gaze.
Splash.
The scene continued with people's busy steps moving through the sewer.
The song became more melodic instead of transitioning to a drop. A soft voice followed.
The camera focused on a huge object that looked like a water tank being carried by people.
The water tank shook and the top opened, and then a pale arm appeared.
It was Seon Ahyun who pulled his body out of it.
A strangely glowing stream of water spilt out of the tank beyond the wobbly camera. A feast of water droplets halted behind Seon Ahyun, shining like a halo.
At that moment, the camera escaped the sewer following the flying water droplets.
And it illuminated the broken windows of a high-rise building.
Standing behind the window was a boy looking into his smartphone.
The song faded.
The boy, wearing a black hood, stared out the window with his back to the camera. In his hand was an old smartphone.
Even in the middle of the night, the city was filled with shimmering lights. The backlight made the boy's figure darker.
The moment when there was a gradual close-up of his upper body.
The boy turned around and looked at the camera.
It was Park Moondae's face.
The camera flicked away as if in surprise. Then, before you knew it, you could see drones floating around the boy.
Drones with shimmering luminous lights stared at the camera.
Park Moondae looked at the camera with eyes that were glowing in a strange purple light, then dropped his smartphone out the window.
And the moment Park Moondae approached the camera, the screen turned off.
Phick.
The subtitles emerged.
The video ended just like that.
And the fans started to bombard with question marks and exclamation marks.
* * *
The trailer video was a short video of 2 minutes and 42 seconds, and only one verse of the song was cut out.
However, because of the overflowing visual beauty, meaning, and elements connected to the previous album, all kinds of fan accounts on social media and internet communities even forgot that it was Monday and started talking about the video in an instant.
Of course, news came up immediately from the general entertainment-related community.
There were many people who diligently shouted their dislikes, but the comments and views did not lie.
And of course, the subtitle that came out at the end of the video was immediately analyzed and a conclusion was drawn.
Those who were moderately interested in TeStar observed the situation with interest.
Fans went back and forth between worry and anticipation, but the next day, the album pre-order notice was announced, ending their plans to wait and see.
However, that wasn't the conclusion yet.
It was the gaming community.
//TN: I just noticed we're past chapter 100 already. Didn't think anyone would actually read my translations since I mostly started this for my own reading experience, but seeing people read and comment on a story that I love so much honestly keeps me motivated to keep going. Plus my English and Korean actually improved so much after almost two months thanks to this!
Anyway, thanks for reading my clumsy translations. I'll get a 2 week's christmas break from university soon so there's going to be chapters more often then.
