《Predator(KnY×reader!!Ghoul)》Chapter 13 : Mission

Been a while!
And yes, this is still ongoing 😅 the update is just slow--
.
Giyuu had a lot of regrets in life...
This is probably one of them...
"Waaahhh! This is like, weird! How can you make dried human meat?! Like, wow."
Y/n, his mischievous and naughty ghoul tsuguko had been talking nonstop about human meat. Giyuu had suggested that--not really knowing why he did. Probably because he was carrying some smoked meat to get by the long journey and when the girl asked why he dried it, he told her that it's to preserve the meat and ask her why won't she do the same so she could have something to get nutrients from in case of emergency.
And boy, you can't imagine how mind blown she was by that idea.
Now she couldn't stop talking about it the whole time. No matter how begrudgingly annoying that idea was, it's also a surprise how Giyuu had accepted this conversation to be normal while they make their way to the mission they are about to take.
After a few hours of walking, Y/n had stopped talking and is now deep in thought. The morning sun was very much looking down upon them with great pride in its bright and warm embrace.
Giyuu glanced at the quietened female walking beside her and frowned before facing forth. Thinking that along this journey will be a little more quieter.
But he's very wrong.
"Hey." Just when Giyuu thought he'd get at least an hour of peace, Y/n called him casually. The ravenette did not looked at her while she continued. "I'm tired." She told him.
He frowned at her but out of consideration he decided to stop and give her a fifteen minute break. The girl sat under the shade of the tree undoing a few buttons on her uniform for enough breathing space reavealing the traces of her collarbone, fanning herself with her hand despite not really sweating.
"Is it far yet?" Y/n asked, her tone obviously in a form of complain when she said it.
"Two days of travel." Giyuu could only tell her.

"Two days..." she hummed. "I want some action already..."
"You need to practice your breathing technique soon." The raven suddenly spoke, but his attention wasn't on her but in the far woods.
"What for? To do that inhaling forms?" That's quite a buff. Y/n thought.
Giyuu deadpanned at her. But nodded to whatever new nickname she'd given to things.
"Isn't the training kinda hellish?" She responded in distaste. "Like running around until you felt like dying... no thanks."
"You'll have to." Giyuu suddenly pulled her up, suddenly slinging her stomach in his shoulder as he began walking.
"What the hell, dude? You having fun carrying a body around?" She asked, not really fighting back since she's pretty much more tired than she had anticipated.
"We're in a hurry." Giyuu simply responded and started running having the girl's stomach hurt for a while.
The entire trip had Y/n being carried like a sack until they managed to reach the first town to rest for the night before going to the next town for tomorrow.
Soon as they booked to an inn, Y/n had settled to one of the prepared futon for her. Her face snuggling the side pillow with a satisfied hum.
"Finally, some rest." She mumbled.
Giyuu sat on the other side with a sigh. He couldn't argue with her despite he was the one who did almost all the walking while carrying a lazy tsuguko. If he did that, he's just going to he tired twice as much as he already is.
Y/n is a high maintenance creature. You can see her as a pet cat with all the sass and that oversleeping. He feels like all veins would explode if he argued more with her... but it's slightly tolerable now, not because she slightly changed but since he was already used to her being like that.
The night went on without a problem. The two got to sleep without encountering any demons nearby.
Only when morning came, that's where Giyuu literally felt the worse problem of his life more so than any others.

First of all, he was an unmarried man. Second, his tsuguko was an unmarried woman. Third, they shared a room thinking there would be no succeeding problems.
He did not know Y/n was the kind of person who travels in her sleep and right now, she travelled her way up to Giyuu's stomach against hers. Her body was sideways, making an X form between them.
For sure, God knows if the raven haired male ever complains, she would have a lot to say. A lot that Giyuu will be blamed later on.
The man sighed wearily.
Why did they shared a room in the first place?
He seriously had no idea why as he tried to shake her awake. He trusted that they'll just rest in peace there... well they did got some rest, but this advance was quite unexpected.
"Hey." He called out, shaking her shoulder.
Y/n groaned and slapped the hand as she rolled up. Now her back was on Giyuu's chest.
"Wake up." He grunted.
"Shuddup." She muttered still her eyes were closed.
But the impatient other, took it upon himself and pushed her aside. Her head fell onto the mats as she curled on the floor cursing him in her sleep. It's probably a dream, but it annoyed Giyuu thinking that even when she's asleep, she still had the audacity to curse him like some thug.
He shook her shoulder again.
"Shut it you piece of meat. I'll eat you..." she muttered.
Giyuu stared at her with a blank look. But in his mind, he was internally kicking her awake...
.
.
.
Y/n opened her eyes to see the sunlight peering through her lashes.
The cozy bed that she had gotten cozied up to was no longer there, instead, an unfamiliar warmth as if she was lulled. But sooner had she realized that she was already outside. She was not in that inn and she was being bride carried by none other than her Hashira.
"Hey, do you have a habit of taking away someone else's precious sleep?" She started in a groggy tone but was obviously annoyed as she rubbed her eyes and continued. "Because you're extremely good at it."
Giyuu, of course, ignored her. Disrupt? She's been asleep in his arms for three hours and she called that disrupt? She was clearly too engrossed in sleeping to care what position her sleep is.
"Oh, by the way, where are we now?" She asked looking around particularly nowhere all seeing nothing but trees. They entered yet another forest much to her dismay.
Of course, he did not answer at all. Y/n grumbled in annoyance but just let him carry her since he isn't even complaining about it. It's even much comfortable since he isn't carrying him like a sack which is a plus.
.
Three hours ago in Giyuu's point of view...
It's been thirty minutes and she had not even gave in to waking up. The sun has already setting up. He thought that it's finally the time but to no avail, the woman has yet to give a signal.
Sighing in defeat, he lifted the girl in his arms and left the inn, covering herself with her haori and packing her slayer uniform as she was only wearing the inn's Yukata.
Everything was sailing smoothly. Y/n was still peacefully asleep, even her arms had ran its way to Giyuu's shoulder as if it was her very pillow, snuggling herself comfortable on his neck.
He thought she was the only problem, but when he noticed that the people were looking at their particular direction with whispers and giggles, he was feeling self conscious.
At first he didn't care. But when someone blocked his way and told him that they were a compatible newlyweds... shits went awry in his brains. His face flushed and sprinted away until he was in the forest.
His brain repeated the words newlyweds over and over that he wanted to slap himself. How dare he have such thoughts towards his junior?!
It was a good thing that Y/n was asleep over the whole ordeal, else she would tease him over and over about it.
.
So yeh be doin action later. Buhbye~

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. The blue Astrum of memories
Some of you believe in fate and some of you don't. That's ok in our world. In the world that I created Fate has been acting strange and selfish for a long time. She was always fascinated with humans and the fact that they had soulmates because a lot of other races didn't. Ever since humans started traveling through space, that opened millions of new opportunities for Fate to make the human soulmates meet. However, because of her strange behaviour Fate made too many mistakes. After that, Fate made what she thought, was a good move. What she didn't count on was that the good move she made knew that you can cheat fate. One and his crew don't know how ironic it is that she chose them to make her good move. ------------------------------- I didn't use any movies, books or series for inspiration the story is my original work. This is just the result of my weird imagination and brain telling me what to write. I hope you liked it :) It’s just a story, like all of my other stores. It doesn’t have a deeper spiritual, moral or ethical meaning.
