"Bri" 

"Wake up" I voice whispers while shaking my body causing my eyes to flutter open, "Finally, when did you come up here?" my brown-eyed best friend asks me and I blink my eyes a few times attempting to wake myself up. 

"In the middle of the night" I respond clearing my throat in the process, and she nods.

"I wish I would've too, that floor was really uncomfortable," she admits while stretching her back and rubbing her neck. 

"Aw you poor thing," I say sarcastically and she nudges my arm.

"Yeah poor thing, you know I need my beauty sleep Bri," she clarifies her brown eyes narrowing causing me to laugh, "Come down for breakfast," she says and my eyes widen. 

"It's already made?" I ask and Journee nods quickly.

"It's 11:00 am Bri," she explains and my eyes widen even more. How did I sleep so late? 

"I didn't realize it was that late," I say while getting out of the warm bed, and my best friend tilts her head before standing. 

"How could you sleeping beauty?" she jokes sarcastically and I roll my eyes in response before heading into the bathroom. 

Once I brush my teeth and wash my face I head downstairs to join everyone for breakfast, seeing everyone seated at the long table talking and passing around food. Jordy's and I's eyes connect but I look away quickly before grabbing a glass and pouring myself orange juice. "Mind pouring me some?" I hear a familiar voice ask and I look up meeting Alex's blue eyes as she leans her back against the counter. She slides her glass towards me and I nod, "Sure" I say smoothly before pouring the orange liquid into the clear cup. 

"So how'd you sleep?" she asks as I lift the juice-filled glass to my lips, pausing my actions at her question. 

"Good, good I ended up sleeping in Journee's room since the floor was uncomfortable," I admit and she nods before taking a sip of her juice. 

"That's good, and yeah the floor was extremely uncomfortable," she sighs and I nod trying to stop my thoughts from flashing back to this morning. 

My legs tangled with her warm soft ones, and our arms wrapped around one another as our bodies connect. I clear my throat pulling myself away from the intimate thoughts and Alex's blue eyes narrow slightly. 

"Anyways are you free today? I was thinking you could show me around town and we could grab some food," She asks before setting her glass down beside her as she continues to lean on the counter beside me. I smile slightly before stealing a quick glance of Jordy who I realize is already looking at me. 

I look back to Alex, "Yeah we can, but I just wanted to throw out there that I'm not really looking for anything serious," I say and Alex nods her head slowly.

"That is if that's the direction this was headed," I continue awkwardly and she gives me a warm smile. 

"I get it, if you ever do then know I'm here" She breathes out and I give her a curt nod. 

"But the plans..." she trails off and I nod warmly.

"Are on" I finish her sentence and she gives me a smile before I walk away to the table. 

I sit across from Jordy who I notice is in the same clothes as last night, but with slightly more messy hair. She looks extremely attractive in the mornings...

I meet her gaze which I notice is blank as her brown eyes stare back at me. I can't tell if she's mad or if she's making her stare seem normal to everyone else? 

"So Alex seems to enjoy your company" Jordy mentions making it seem like a normal conversation as she nonchalantly sips on her juice. I narrow my eyes at her before reaching for the bowl of scrambled eggs and putting them on my plate.

"Yeah?" I say but it comes out as a question and she tilts her head at me slightly, and I grab some of the mixed fruit. 

"I'm assuming you guys have plans today?" she says accusingly, and I can't tell if she's just asking about her friends' plans, or if these plans bother her. 

"I-uh... yeah it seems so," I say unsure of what to say, considering her tone is hard to read. "Mm," she hums as she continues back to her food, ending our conversation, and I stay in the same position as I blankly stare forward trying to figure out what's going on. 

"Could we join you?" Journee asks referring to her and Sebastian, and my eyes lock with Journee's. 

I see Sebastian give Journee a confused look and Alex mimics his actions. Journee attending would actually make me feel way more comfortable, especially since I like Alex, but Jordy has confused my feelings. I don't want to act on anything until I know what I want. 

"Yeah that would be really fun," I say with a smile, and Journee smiles back before excitingly clapping her hands quickly. 

I look back to Jordy who's eyeing Journee suspiciously while she holds her glass of apple juice in mid-air. Journee continues eating ignoring everyone's lingering stares, and I turn back to my plate finishing the food covering it. 

Eva clears her throat, "So um how's everyone's breakfast?" she asks trying to remove some of the awkwardness, glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was. 

Luca's fork drops onto his plate, "Really good" he says with food in his mouth while whipping his face with his napkin. Eva laughs at him in response before focusing back on her plate. 

"So... Jordy I'm assuming you are free today?" Maya asks from the other end of the table earning Jordy's attention. 

Jordy glanced at me and her mouth slightly twitches upwards before looking back to Maya's dark eyes, "I'm definitely free" she says putting emphasis on definitely causing me to tilt my head slightly at her. 

"Perfect we could do something, just me and you," Maya says as she sips her coffee happily and Jordy flashes her a smile. 

I clear my throat before rising from the table ignoring Jordy's illusive stare. After rinsing off my cup and plate, I sit them in the sink. I walk towards the door before sliding my Yeezy slides on, and grabbing the pool bag I brought yesterday. 

"Bri you're leaving?" Journee shouts from the table and my eyes meet with hers, ignoring everyone else's gaze.

"Yeah I have some stuff I need to do for my mom," I lie, and confusion appears on Journee's face. "I thought your mom had a weekend trip?" Journee asks and I freeze. 

I feel Jordy's gaze burning a hole through me, "Yeah she asked me to do it for her while she's gone," I lie again and Journee nods.

"Okay well tell your mom thanks for the pastries," she says with a smile, and I nod. 

"Also we're picking you up around 1:30" she shouts as I open the door, and I give her one last nod before shutting the door behind me. 

I reach in my pool bag grabbing my keys before entering my comforting vehicle. The warm interior coats around me as I cut the engine on, and I reverse out of the driveway. 

I had to lie. I had to get out of there considering this whole situation with Jordy is confusing enough, and now it seems as if she's hanging out with Maya to get back at me. Why though? The worst we've done is almost kiss and accidentally end up cuddling halfway through the night. None of that even matters. Pursuing Jordy would be unrealistic, and a waste of time because she's Journee's sister. Even considering all these options...

I still feel drawn to her.
