"Logan, what is it?" Oliver looked at him sternly, concern mixing into almost anger and Logan just wanted to curl up and cry, or for Oliver to hug him and forget about it, but he knew he wouldn't. He was terrified to tell him if Oliver was this mad and he didn't even know who it was.
"I-It's not a big deal, don't worry about it." He said, but Oliver wasn't having it.
"No, this ends now, I'm not letting you continue to be beaten up and bullied and what the fuck did he do, choke you?" He asked and Logan nodded a little to the question, keeping his eyes trained down on his sweater sleeves. Oliver had gotten off of him and sat beside him, but Logan wished he were close, he wished he could bury his face in Oliver's chest and kiss him.
"You wouldn't believe me!" He argued, his eyes full of hurt as if Oliver had already rejected him even though he hadn't.
"Why would you think that?" Oliver asked, almost whispering.
"b-because." He said, his eyes filling with tears. Oliver too Logan's chin gently and forced the boy to look him in the eyes.
"Logan, who is it?" He asked, his eyes full of concern. Logan sniffled back a sob and pulled his chin away, looking at his sleeves again as he swallowed thickly.
"I-It's..I- c-can't, he'd kill me, and you'd hate me, a-and then I'd be dead and you wouldn't even care a-and everything w-would go to shit, and-" He was talking too fast and stuttering over his words as he spiraled into a panic attack, his eyes fixed on the ground as his breathing turned ragged. Oliver knew what was happening, though it seemed worse than when they were kids. He pulled Logan into his arms and hugged him tightly as the boy sobbed and gasped, his ears ringing from the wave of anxieties that was pulling him under.
"I could never hate you, never." Oliver whispered, holding him close. "And I'm not going to let anyone kill you, but you have to tell me who it is so I can protect you, okay? I won't let him hurt you, I promise, I'll walk you to every class if I need to and sit with you at lunch and drive you home, I don't care, I just want you to be safe, I can't stand to know that someone is hurting you, do you know how much that kills me, you're my best friend, you always have been, and until you leave me and find someone better, I'll be here." He said, playing with Logan's hair, resting his chin on the boy's head. Logan had calmed down a little, Oliver's voice always having been something that settled his nerves.

Logan nodded a little, his breathing still labored, but starting to come back as he focused on Oliver's fingers in his hair, leaning into it a little and Oliver smiled a little at the boy's reaction.
"Are you okay?" Oliver asked and Logan bit his lip. He wanted to say 'no', to tell him everything, to cry and scream and confess every single lie, but he just shrugged.
"You can tell me when you're ready, but I'm not going to call you a liar or distrust you just because I don't like the answer, I'm never going to like the answer, I don't want to believe that there's someone out there cruel enough to hurt someone as kind as you." Oliver said, his voice gentle as his words washed over Logan.
"I-It's Jace." Logan said, the words coming out quickly. He felt Oliver pause a moment, his hand stopping but not leaving it's place in his hair, his eyes staring ahead at a painting on Logan's wall.
"What?" Logan could tell he was holding back his anger, he could practically feel the ball of rage welling up behind the word. Logan took a shaky breath.
"I-It happened in the library earlier, h-he said he didn't want me hanging out with you and he said I shouldn't talk to you and I should ask you to get out of the school play because he thought you were gonna, I don't know, he asked if I was turning you gay, then he grabbed me.." He said, staring down at his sleeve. "It's been going on for a while though." He said quietly.
"How long is a while?" Oliver asked, his jaw locked.
"Like two years." He said, biting his lip.
"So when I found you half dead behind the school, that was Jace too." Oliver said Jace's name with pure hatred. Logan nodded a little.
"And that's happened before?" He asked. Once again, Logan nodded, a tear falling down his cheek. Oliver looked to Logan and sighed, hugging him close to him.
"Trust me when I say that Jace Connolly will never lay another finger on you again." Oliver said and Logan nodded, cuddling close to him.
"You're warm." Logan said sleepily. Oliver smiled, playing with his hair again and then looking at him.
"Hey, how about we go get showers and then we can watch a movie and go to bed." He suggested and Logan nodded.
"Do you have pajamas?" He asked and Oliver nodded.
"In my car, I have extra clothes, I'll go run out and get them while you shower."
Logan was laying on his bed with his laptop open while he waited for Oliver to get out of the shower.
He looked up with a small smile when the bathroom door opened and Oliver walked out, drying his dark hair, shirtless. Fuck. He had clearly started doing some kind of working out in the last few years because he was a lot more toned than Logan remembered. He wasn't a lanky freshman anymore, he had abs for starters when did that happen? fucking shit. He wasn't even quite aware that he was staring until Oliver looked back over to Logan and smile a little.

Logan shot his eyes back to his computer, but fuck was it hard to get that image out of his head now.
"You decide what we're watching yet?" Oliver asked, sitting down next to him and he must have brought his own bodywash too because fuck, he smelled amazing, like, his normal scent, but multiplied by ten. He smelled like pine mixed with the vague scent of cigarettes and something about that was addicting.
"I was thinking maybe like, the emperors new groove?" He suggested and Oliver nodded.
"Sure."
"We don't have to watch it if you don't want to."
"No no, I'm just more of a bee movie man myself." He said and then grinned and Logan giggled.
"Oh wait! Can we watch lilo and stitch instead?" He asked, getting up and running over to his closet. "I have this hoodie." Logan said, pulling the blue hoodie on over his long-sleeved shirt and he pulled the hood up which had stitch ears and a face on the top. Oliver smiled and nearly cooed at how adorable it was.
"Lilo and stitch it is." He said and Logan giggled, coming back over to sit down next to Oliver.
It wasn't long into the movie before Logan dozed off, somehow he'd ended up in Oliver's arms, curled up like a cat with his head on Oliver's chest. The dark-haired boy couldn't help but glance down every few minutes and smile at the boy, trying to ignore the marks on his neck, imprinted there. He couldn't believe Jace could do something like that, but then again, Jace was an ass to a lot of people, but this was Logan, his Logan, how could he let this happen, how had it been going on so long and he'd never known? He reminded himself that Logan wasn't technically his, not yet, he hadn't asked him out or anything, well, he had, but he didn't think it came across as a date to Logan when they'd gone out. He also knew that there was no way he could have known about what Jace was doing, but he still felt mad, so mad about it.
He was interrupted from his thoughts when he heard the bedroom door open and looked up from the red-haired boy to see Logan's dad, Matthew, at the door, he looked confused for a moment, though smiling.
"Is there a reason you're in my son's bed?" He asked, almost teasingly and Oliver knew he was fine.
"I promise it's not what it looks like." Oliver said with a little chuckle. "He just had a panic attack so I thought it'd be a good idea to chill out and I swear I didn't plan to end up like this." He said, referring to the position he was in, Logan practically on top of him. Matthew laughed softly.
"It's alright, I know how it is, he cuddles with just about anything that'll sit down next to him." He said and Oliver smiled. "Sleep well, Oliver." He said, closing the door.
Oliver smiled and grabbed the remote, shutting off the tv and then starting to get up when Logan let out a sort of whimper and cuddled closer to Oliver, nuzzling his neck before he yawned quietly and laid his head down on Oliver's shoulder. Oliver smiled a little and gave in, laying back down on the pillow. It wasn't such a bad thing to sleep in Logan's bed, was it? They were still passing as friends, weren't they?
He sighed quietly and ran his fingers through Logan's hair, loving the softness of his curls, a small smile forever present on his lips. He knew he couldn't fall in love with him again, not after what happened freshman year. He'd always felt like it was his fault that Logan had spiraled out of control, he should have told someone, but he was a naive little kid then, at the time he didn't think he should and Logan made him promise not to tell anyone and he shouldn't have listened, but he did. Now he was lying there with this perfect, damaged boy in his arms and all he could think about was how amazing he smelled with that mix of coconut and strawberry.
He wondered if he should at least try to get a boyfriend, maybe it'd take his mind off Logan. He'd had one night stands and flings, but never a real relationship, but maybe he should give it a go. He needed to get over his feelings for Logan, the smaller boy clearly only looked at him as a friend. He kissed the top of his head.
"I've missed you so much more than you know." He whispered, closing his eyes a moment, resting his lips in Logan's hair.
"I want to stay here forever, I think I could sit like this for several eternities and never get bored." He said quietly, only really talking to himself, well, he thought so.
"Me too." Logan said, smiling softly and glancing up at Oliver before he closed his eyes again. "Sleep well, Oli."
"You too." Oliver said with a soft smile.
