A/N: Alright, here it is, the boys spelunking and being cute. How's everyone's week going? We're almost at 100k so that's really fucking cool, I love you guys. I chose Metaphor by The Crane Wives because it's my jam at the moment and I love it so I hope you guys do to. Anyways, stay hydrated, wash your hands, and have a groovy weekend.
Logan followed Oliver through the wooded area, his hand held like tether to his boyfriend as they trod through the dead leaves and weak twigs that were now covered in a thin layer of snow, but could still be heard crunching and snapping underfoot. It had snowed late monday night and carried through into the early tuesday morning. It was supposed to snow more and usually did early to mid-february. The sun was shining through the trees, glistening off the snow.
A small group of crows flew overheard, cawing to one another and Logan wondered what they were talking about.
"Did you know a flock of crows is called a murder?" He asked Oliver and the taller boy looked at him with a little grin.
"I feel like I should know that."
"They also do this thing called partial migration where a few fly south, and a few just stick it out."
"I wonder if the ones who stay back think the ones who fly up are pussies because they can't handle a little snow."
"Probably. You think that's what Canadians secretly think of us?" Logan asked and Oliver snorted.
"Yeah, they're probably just too polite to say it though." Oliver said and Logan giggled quietly.
They reached the cave entrance and Logan stared into the darkness of it. It wasn't huge, but it was big enough and Logan wondered how long it went on for. He looked to Oliver.
"Is this definitely a good idea?"
"Absolutely. I have a flashlight."
"What if it runs out of battery?"
"I have my phone and you have yours."
"What if we get lost?"
"GPS." Oliver said with a small smile, holding up his phone.
"What if there's no signal?"
"Then we go back the way we came. It can't be that deep a cave, we'll be fine, and we won't go in far, we won't take too many turns, and we'll only take left turns if we have to take them." Oliver said and Logan smiled.
"But what if you forget we decided to only take left turns?"
"Bear-" Oliver said and Logan giggled quietly. "Everything will be fine. We're going to explore a cave for a little while, then we'll come back and we can maybe go get some dinner somewhere, and then I'll drive you home, simple as that." Oliver said before leaning down to kiss the boy. "Come on-" He said, taking Logan's hand and walking in with him, flicking the flashlight on.
"Where are we getting dinner?" Logan asked. You should get out of it.
"I was thinking maybe that pasta place, Noodle Den?"
"I thought Noodle Den is the chinese place, Ravioli Brothers is the pasta place."
"Alright, Ravioli Brothers, what'do you think?" Oliver corrected. No.
"Isn't it expensive?"
"Not that expensive."
"But still expensive."
"Do you want to go there or not?"

"I might just get something at home."
"Are you sure? We don't have to get pasta, we could go somewhere else, we could get pizza."
"I think I'm actually more in the mood for a ham and cheese sandwich." Liar.
"Alright." Oliver said, sounding a bit defeated. Logan bit his lip; he hadn't meant to upset Oliver.
"Do you think there are bats in here?" Logan asked.
"Probably, I'm pretty sure some of them hibernate and some of them fly south like birds."
"I wonder how many species participate in partial migration." Logan said. "I'll have to look it up sometime."
"How much time do you spend just researching things?"
"Too much."
"Nerd." Oliver teased with a quiet chuckle.
"Don't you have a sacrificial ceremony to attend?" Logan teased back and nudged Oliver with his elbow to which Oliver nudged him back with a grin.
"Nah, I'll just be late for it."
"Sounds about right." Logan said with a giggle and Oliver laughed.
"Wow, the teddy bear can be insulting." Oliver said and Logan blushed, rolling his eyes with a smile.
"I don't even wear that outfit anymore."
"I wonder if it still fits you."
"Maybe, I've barely grown an inch since middle school."
"You should try it on sometime."
"No, absolutely not, you'd never stop teasing me for it!"
"But it'd be adorable! Come on..for me?" Oliver asked with a little hopeful smile.
"Fine, maybe someday I'll try it on again, but it's lost somewhere in my closet."
"I'm sure we can find it."
They walked on for another few minutes, taking two left turns before the cave opened up to a large cavern with a pool of water in the far left corner. There must have been a hole somewhere in the top or sides because streaks of light shone in across the opening.
"Okay, so it's a bigger cave than I thought." Oliver said with a chuckle and for a moment, Logan could only stare at the stalagtites hanging down from the top and the light shining into the water.
"How do you keep finding places like this?" Logan asked and Oliver shrugged with a smile, walking in with him to look around.
"It's a gift, I guess."
"It's amazing." Logan said and Oliver looked down at him for a moment before Logan leaned up to kiss him gently and Oliver kissed him back, cupping the boy's face with his hand.
"You're amazing." Oliver said softly.
"You're cheesy." Logan retorted, taking Oliver's hand again to walk around with him.
They lazily explored around, looking at the rock formations.
"It's like an undiscovered museum of unintentional statues." Logan said softly.
"Care for a swim?" Oliver asked with a small grin and a cocked eyebrow. Logan shook his head with a smile.
"Oli, it's the middle of winter, I'd be an ice cube before I got my head under." Logan said and Oliver chuckled. "Besides, there are probably weird cave pond parasites or something."
"Cave pond parasites?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, no swimming then." Oliver said as if this were the biggest disappointment of his life and Logan took his hand again.

"We should get out of here before we find a hibernating bear or something." Logan said.
"I dunno, I think you're too cute to maul." Oliver said with a grin.
"Oh, so I'm not attractive to bears now? Maybe I want to be mauled." Logan said jokingly.
"Fine, then you're too cute not to maul."
"What if I don't want to be mauled?" Logan asked with a smile and Oliver leaned down to kiss his nose.
"Then shush." Oliver said and Logan giggled quietly. "Come on, let's head back. Although I definitely think this is an option for your photoshoot."
"Is that still happening?" Logan asked as he walked back to where they'd walked in.
"Absolutely, and then I'll play you guitar afterward."
"Maybe we could do it at the overlook.." Logan said softly.
"Yeah, definitely."
"Hey, Oli?"
"Yeah?"
"Which way did we come in?" Logan asked, looking between the multiple cave paths.
"That one..I think." Oliver said, pointing to one.
"Are you sure?"
"No, but we could try it and come back if we need to."
"Okay." Logan said.
---
An hour later, they were still trying different paths and at some point Oliver had suggested that he give Logan a piggy back ride because he wasn't tired and so now Logan was still on Oliver's back, legs wrapped around his waist and arms sitting around his neck, Oliver's jacket wrapped around him.
"Are we lost?" Logan asked and Oliver glanced up at him with a little grin.
"Maybe a bit. Sorry, I really didn't think this would happen." He said as he kept walking.
"It's okay. Aren't you getting tired?"
"Nah, I go on a run every morning before school, I'm prepared for this."
"I didn't know you run."
"Yeah, it's not like a major hobby, it just helps me get some energy and frustration out, I also do boxing occasionally."
"How did I not know that?"
"I guess I just don't think about it enough to talk about it." Oliver said with a shrug.
"I definitely don't get enough exercise, I'm built like a noodle." Logan said and Oliver chuckled.
"It's alright, I think you're cute, noodle limbs and all."
"I'm not that cute." Logan mumbled with a smile, his face tinting pink.
"Yeah you are, you're small and smaller versions of big things are always cute." Logan thought he shouldn't have liked being called small as much as he did..but he wondered if Oliver meant he was thin or was simply saying he was short. You're not thin, so he couldn't have meant that.
"I'm not small, I'm big and scary, I'm a bear, remember?" Logan said with a giggle, shoving his thoughts out.
"Yeah, but you're like, a baby bear." Oliver said with a grin.
They turned the corner and finally, there stood the opening back into the woods.
"I hope I'm not going to be late for work." Oliver mumbled. You're a waste of his time, stupidfatbitch- Logan took a breath and rested his chin on Oliver's head.
"Sorry." Logan said quietly.
"It's not your fault, exploring the cave was my idea anyways." Oliver said with a small smile and Logan nodded a little.
Oliver gently set him down once they'd reached the car, letting Logan get in and strap his seatbelt while Oliver walked around to get in the driver's seat and put the key in. Logan was absentmindedly playing with the sleeves of Oliver's jacket that he was wearing
"You have to promise me you'll eat something when you get home." Oliver said, looking over at Logan and Logan wondered how long Oliver had been thinking about this. His words were stuck in his throat all of a sudden. He couldn't lie to him, not when he was looking at Logan like that, with concern.
"I..I will."
"Promise?" Oliver asked, his voice firm.
"Promise." Logan said quietly.
Oliver nodded and Logan was glad he didn't say anything about being worried even if he was, Logan couldn't handle a lecture from Oliver about his eating habits. He hated lying to Oliver, especially when Oliver seemed to look right through him and Logan knew Oliver knew he wasn't telling the truth.
"You've gotta take care of yourself, bear." Oliver said softly, cupping the redhead's cheek.
"I know." Logan said barely audibly. He smiled a little when Oliver kissed him, kissing him back and wrapping his arms around his boyfriends neck.
It was a minute or two before Oliver pulled away, buckling his own seatbelt and turning the key to start his car. Both of them were trying to contain their smiles and Logan didn't know if he'd ever get over the fact that Oliver actually liked him back.
"So um..Valentine's day is coming up soon." Logan said, glancing over at Oliver who smiled, nodding.
"Yeah, I'll probably just stay in, y'know, cause it's better not to participate in holidays that basically only exist because of capitalism."
"Oh..yeah, you're right, totally, we shouldn't do anything for it." Logan said and Oliver smirked, chuckled quietly.
"I'm kidding, bear, I was thinking about maybe going out to dinner or something for it."
"Maybe we could watch a movie at one of our houses or something." Logan said. "The art museum is also decorating and doing a discounted thing for couples.."
"You're adorable, I'd love to go to the art museum with you."
"Really?"
"Yes." Oliver said, pulling into Logan's driveway before leaning over to kiss his forehead. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Seeya, Oli." Logan said, kissing Oliver's cheek before getting out, waving goodbye to him and watching him drive off before he went inside.
"Was that Oliver?" Matthew asked from the kitchen.
"Yeah." Logan said, walking into the kitchen where his dads were sitting at the table. Matthew smiled.
"Were you two on a date or something?"
"Maybe." Logan said, trying to hide the small smile on his face and Mattew grinned while Allen just took another sip of his beer, unphased.
"When did you two start dating?" Allen asked and Logan shrugged.
"Are you having safe sex?" Matthew asked.
"This was really the first one, it wasn't even really a date, we were just hanging out and we're not..I mean, we're n-not like..doing anything." Logan said quickly, his face going red.
"Alright, I need the whole story." Matthew said and Logan smiled. "Go get yourself some tea and sit down."
Logan spent the next hour sitting with his dads drinking tea and talking about Oliver.
