《Everything Inbetween Bones [BxB] ✓》Chapter 47

A/N: Hey, it's everyone's favorite prickly bisexual succulent back with your unscheduled dose of sad gay shit. I went with a bit of lofi this time instead of the usual because lofi needs more love as a genre instead of just as study music. Anyways, this is Night Trouble by Petit Biscuit and it's really pretty, I hope you like it. Anyways, I hope you love this chapter and remember to drink your water, I know it's tough getting through the winter for a lot of people, myself included, but we'll get through it together and I love you guys.
Logan sat in his car, his fingers tapping against the steering wheel as he took quiet breaths. He'd agreed to this, it wasn't like he could blow it off. Oliver had offered to come with him but he had assured him that he didn't need a babysitter and he'd be fine. It wasn't like Jace would hit him in a public venue. He didn't think Jace would hit him anyway, not after he'd gone out of his way to ask if they could talk things out, there wouldn't be reason for Jace to hurt him. He wasn't sure what he was scared would happen, maybe it was just facing him alone again. He reached up, touching his neck gently where there had been a dark bruise a few months ago. There was actually a hickey there now which made Logan smile a little, remembering the night before when Oliver had actually left a couple of patches of skin purple and he was pretty sure he still had bite marks on his thighs.
He took a shaky breath and tried to return to the task at hand. He was sitting in the coffee shop parking lot. He was ten minutes late at this point and he considered just leaving, it wouldn't be hard, he could tell Sy that he hadn't been feeling well, it wouldn't be a complete lie. He shook his head, he needed to do this. He got out of his car and walked into the coffee shop, glancing around for a moment until his eyes caught the familiar figure sitting at a table.
He walked over and sat down, Jace looked up and he looked away, trying to decide if he wanted coffee or not. His hands stayed under the table, playing with his sweater sleeves as he tried to figure out how to talk. He couldn't put his finger on what he was so anxious about, Jace wasn't even doing anything, he hadn't even said anything and still Logan could barely look at him.
"Hey." Jace said and Logan looked at him. He'd never been this scared to look at Jace before. Trauma was strange like that, it never fully processed until everything was over, and he was starting to realize how bad he'd been hurt.
"Hey." He said quietly.
"Do you want coffee?" Jace asked and Logan shrugged.
"I'm alright." He said and Jace nodded.
"So..I guess you know about Sy and I then." Jace said and Logan nodded.
"Yeah, I didn't really tell anyone if that's what you're worried about." Logan said and Jace shook his head.
"I wasn't." He said, taking a breath. "Look, I'm not great at apologies, but I don't want to sit here and beat around the bush forever, so I'm..I'm sorry, I really am, for everything-" Jace took a breath, his fingers tapping against his cup of coffee. "I took a lot of stuff out on you that I shouldn't have, I guess it was just..easy, and I assumed you had a pretty good life because your dads are so rich, but I shouldn't have done what I did. I just hope that we can kind of reconcile a bit and you can get to a point where you're not so mad at me anymore, because I'm really ready to change-"

"Is Sy happy?" He asked, glancing at Jace and the other paused.
"I think so, he sure seems it." Jace smiled a bit.
"What's your favorite thing about him?" Logan asked softly and Jace let out a soft breath, pulling his fingers through his hair.
"His energy." Jace said quietly and Logan thought it might have been the first time he'd ever heard Jace sound almost sweet. "I mean, his passion for all of his hobbies, his confidence, how he'll ramble on and on about the things he likes." He said, looking down at his coffee, reaching up to scratch his neck. "I just wanted some of that."
Listening to Jace, Logan wasn't sure he recognized him anymore. He didn't know how it'd happened, but there was something entirely different about Jace, like some kind of film had been taken off and now he could see him clearly. Maybe he was just being honest for once.
Logan took a breath a nodded a bit. "I accept your apology then." he said. Even if it would take a little while to get over everything if he even could fully get over it.
"So we're good then?" Jace asked and Logan nodded.
"Yeah, we're okay I guess. I don't want us to be friends, but I don't hate you, I don't think it's good to hate people forever." Logan said and Jace nodded.
"How's Oliver?" He asked and Logan couldn't help but smile just a bit at the mention of his boyfriend.
"He's good." Logan said. Jace nodded, taking a sip of his coffee.
"You know, it was actually Oliver who wanted me to apologize to you." Jace said and Logan looked at him.
"I..didn't know you and Oliver were still talking." He said and Jace shook his head.
"We're not anymore, it was just a few months ago." Jace said.
"Oh..cool." Logan said, tapping his fingers against the table, he kind of wished he'd bought a coffee to distract himself.
"Yeah, I mean, I gave you a lot of shit, I just thought you had it all so much easier, it seemed like it, your dads are cool people and you're rich so I just assumed." Jace said with a shrug. "But Oliver told me you had it pretty bad when you were younger and you weren't doing great anyway and I was still bitter for a while, but then I felt bad about the whole thing." Jace explained and Logan nodded, taking a slightly stuttered breath, digging his nails into his palms. Oliver told him? Of course he fucking did, youknowyoucan'ttrusthim youknewthiswouldhappen whyareyouevensurprised. Did you really think you could trust anyone but yourself? how fucking naive are you?
"That's nice." Logan said in a sort of mumble, his eyes blankly staring at his hands on the table. His hands were shaking a bit, it was strange, he didn't feel like he was really there, just kind of numb and disconnected. "Alright, well, now that that's settled, I have some stuff to get done at home so I've gotta go." He said and Jace looked at him.
"Oh, okay, I guess I'll..see you later then."
"Yeah, yeah, cool." Logan said, getting up, his legs felt like jelly. "I'll see you then." He said, a small smile on his face before he walked out the door. He knew Jace was probably confused, but he didn't want to sit there and space out for a half an hour making autopilot small talk with his old bully, he wanted to get out of there and listen to music in his car and rest his head against the steering wheel until he felt slightly better.

He drove for about a mile before he found another parking lot, parking his car and running his fingers through his hair. He unbuckled his seatbelt and took out his phone, starting his playlist of quiet music, it was something he'd made to help ease out of the after-stress of panic attacks, he hoped it'd help then too. He sat there for a long time, he wasn't sure, it could've been anywhere between a few minutes and a few hours, he just felt like numb nothingness and maybe it was better than feeling stressed and overwhelmed, but he didn't want to waste time like that.
He finally left when he noticed the list of songs repeating and decided it was time to head home. It was pitch black outside and seeing the stars twinkling in the sky, he couldn't help but smile at the memory of sitting on the overlook, watching the stars with Oliver. That would be such a pretty place to die. He pulled to a stop at a red light. It's so high up, you probably wouldn't even feel it. He shook his head slightly, shrugging off the thought. He didn't want to die, he had so much to look forward to after highschool. You're big dream is growing up to be a starving artist, you've been fucked up since day one, you'll be fucked up forever, you can't even trust the guy you're in love with, your friends hate you, youfuckeverythingup-
He took a breath, pulling into his driveway. He unlocked the door and walked in, barely having closed it behind him before he heard his name being called.
"Hey, Logan sweetie, can you come here a minute?" His dad, Matthew, called from the kitchen and he walked in, the smile fading from his face when his eyes landed on the bottle of pills and his journal sitting on the table. He caught the concern in Matthew's face, the frustration in Allen's.
"We need to talk." Allen said and Logan could feel his heart beating in his throat, his hands were shaking as he took a seat, staring down at the floor. Did Oliver tell them? Fucking probably, he told Jace you're fucked up, why wouldn't he tell them too.
"How was work?" He asked quietly, not looking at either of them. Allen let out a sigh, Logan could see him rub his face with his hands out of the corner of his eye.
"Logan.." Allen started as Matthew dropped tea bags into cups and walked back over, slowly sitting down at the table.
"I heard you had a meeting, how did that go? Did you get that client that you were hoping to?"
"Logan!" Allen cut him off, his voice raised and Matthew took his husband's hand gently. Logan wanted to implode. "You need to stop avoiding this and talk about it." He said, his voice quieter than before, but his jaw was still locked. Logan hated making Allen mad, he was even-tempered the majority of the time, but on occasion something would stir him up and he'd storm off or raise his voice.
"Honey, please, just talk to us." Matthew said, touching Logan's shoulder and the boy flinched slightly, biting his lip, fingers holding tightly to his mug. Matthew took his hand away.
"Who told you?" Logan whispered, his fingers tapping against his mug. They'llsendyouawaythey'llnevertrustyouagainwhyshouldtheyevertrustyouagain?
"Linda." Matthew said, taking a sip of his tea. "She was cleaning and..and decided to wash your floors, but then she found the pills and called us right away to tell us we should also check your journal too in case there was anything concerning." Matthew sighed. "You know I don't ever want to take away your privacy, and I was only going to glance through it, but it was all dates and numbers, food numbers. Is this really how much you've been eating?" Matthew asked and Logan looked at him for a moment, his dad's eyes were welling with tears and the redhead's stomach twisted with guilt, a stone lodged in his throat.
"I-I didn't...I didn't want to drag you guys into this- I didn't m-mean for you to-"
"You wanted to deal with it all by yourself." Matthew said softly and Logan looked down again, sniffling.
"When did you stop taking your medication?" Allen asked and Logan shrugged.
"Why?" Matthew asked and Logan sat there before he shrugged again. "Baby, you can talk to us." No, I can't.
"Please don't send me back to the hospital." He said quietly and Allen let out a frustrated sigh, getting up.
"Allen-"
"Don't start, Matt, I need a smoke." He said and Logan watched him walk out. Are you happy that you're ruining their marriage? This is all your fault.
"I'm sorry." He said softly and Matthew looked over at him, eyes softening, moving to pull the boy into a hug.
"I just wish you'd have told us."
"Is he going to send me away?" Logan asked.
"Logan, he just wants you to be healthy."
"The hospital made me worse, dad." Matthew paused.
"I thought you got better for a little while." He said and Logan shrugged, a tear falling down his cheek.
"Not really."
"You have a doctor's appointment scheduled for tomorrow, if the doctor says you have to be hospitalized, then you will be."
Logan sat for a moment, not sure what to say to that. There was a sort of calm that came over him, a numbness that he couldn't describe. It's over. You lose.
"Do we have to keep talking about this? I kind of just want to take a shower and head to bed." He said softly and Matthew nodded.
"Go ahead." He said softly and Logan nodded, getting up.
"I love you, Dad." He said, leaning down to kiss his dad's cheek. "Tell Papa I said goodnight." He said and Matthew smiled.
"I love you too, Logan."
