《Jay Halstead x Reader Story/Imagine》(23.2. He's gone)

I woke up on a really hard surface. I hopped up and immediately started looking at my surroundings. I was in some sort of abandoned house, just wood all around me. I inspected my body for any signs of injury but I didn't see nor feel anything. I patted myself down trying to find my phone, gun, or anything that could help me alert someone of my situation.
Yates, somehow he managed to get me here and there was no doubt he was somewhere around. I tried to carefully and quietly walk to the door of the room I was in but the floorboards were so old they creaked with every step I took.
"Going somewhere?" I heard Yates's voice from a hole in the wall leading to the room next door.
"Why d'you bring me here Yates?" I tried to sound as calm as possible
"Hmm, I see you didn't get my note." He smiled crawling through the whole to enter the room.
"So you've been planning this for a while huh? What is it exactly that you're planning to do?" I stayed firm, not showing any signs of fear.
"Well, I think you know." He laughed. "You know very well it was supposed to be you that day...but well that doesn't matter, I had fun then and I'll have fun now." His smile was replaced with a look of fury.
I grabbed a loose floorboard and threw it at his face knowing it wouldn't do much but would cause enough of a distraction for me to run out of the room.
I heard as he groaned angrily and began running after me. I tried my best to find a hiding spot but every inch of this house was filled with holes and every step I took echoed all throughout the house. I turned back for a second watching as Yates got closer.
Before I knew it I had stepped on a rotting floorboard and I was falling through what felt like 100 floors. I hit the floor hard winding me for a second, I looked up to see Yates running down fast. I tried to get up noticing I had cut my leg during the fall.
I quickly tied my belt around it before getting up and trying to limp away. Luckily the ground floor wasn't too creaky which was gonna make hiding easier. I found a dark room. I saw a couple of bricks on the corner of the room and reached over to grab one of them before hiding behind the doorway.
"y/n! Where are you?" I heard Yates chanting. I tried controlling my breathing while I stayed hidden. I heard him walking and then everything went silent.
I stayed quiet for a couple minutes but nothing. I took a deep breath before I moved slowly and quietly trying to peak through the door but just as I did I felt a blow and I was on the ground, Yates on top of me. The brick I was holding had fallen out of my hand.

"Get the hell off me!" I shouted kicking and punching trying to get Yates off me. He had a knife in his hands which slashed across my arms and legs. I was able to kick the knife away from him.
His hands though now had moved to my throat. I grabbed his hands trying to pry them off me, trying to get a breath in.
"I had other plans before this but I guess the order can change," Yates breathed, his face mere inches away from mine.
I looked to the side and noticed the brick I had dropped. He was so distracted tightening his grip around me trying to kill me so I reached over with what little life I had left bashing him on the side of the head with all the strength I was able to muster.
He fell beside me and I took a huge deep breath trying to get oxygen into my body again. He was groaning around so I got up ready to hit him again. "This is for Nadia!" I screamed swinging my hand up ready to kill him.
He looked up at me and grabbed my foot pulling it and making me fall backwards, hitting my head hard against the floor. I felt dizzy and was trying to get back up when I saw him crawl towards me. I pushed myself backwards away from him my hands hitting something cold, Yate's knife. I gripped it.
"YOU'RE DEAD!" He yelled when my back hit the wall and I no longer had room to escape.
I threw myself forward and stabbed Yate's neck. "You'll never hurt anyone again you monster." I whispered before twisting the knife finishing the job. His now lifeless body fell beside me.
I felt overwhelmed all of sudden, I felt my cheeks wet and brought my hands up to them noticing I was crying. I tried walking out but fell to my knees, the pain on my leg now more significant. I brought my hands up to my face.
A couple of seconds later I felt a hand on my back. "NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!" I started yelling and punching.
"y/n y/n! It's me! It's Ruz." I heard Adam's voice. I looked up and saw Adam was kneeling beside me.
"Thank God." I breathed leaning forward and falling into his arms.
"Body." I heard Antonio's voice from the back room, and then saw him holster his gun.
"C,mon let's get you out of here." Adam helped me up, carrying most of my weight and helping me out of the house.
I saw Jay being held back by Hank and Alvin screaming at them to let him in. All three of them then seeing me walking out.

Jay pushed past them and ran towards me. He put his hands on my arms taking a look at the injuries on my body. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry it's my fault, I shouldn't have taken my eyes off you, I told them to let me in-" He started.
I placed my hands on his cheeks. "Shh, Jay I'm okay, he's gone, I'm okay." I reassured him. "This wasn't your fault." I told him firmly.
"C,mon let's get you checked out." Adam said as I saw Brett making her way over to me.
______
"There you go you're all bangaged up, d'you wanna ride with us or with the guys?" Brett asked me after she finished bandaging my legs and arms.
"I'll drive there...thank's Brett." I gave her a smile. She opened the ambulance door and Antonio was standing outside writing some things down on his notepad. He put his arm around my waist and helped me down.
"Thanks Tonio." I smiled as I made my over to Jay who was discussing something with Hank.
"You okay?" Hank asked placing a hand on my arm.
"I am now." I sighed thinking about Yates finally being gone.
"Alright, get her to the hospital Halstead." Hank instructed him.
Jay grabbed my hand as we both walked to the car. He opened the door for me and then walked to the otherside to get into the drivers seat. He saw me struggling to put my seatbelt on from the pain I felt on my arms.
"Here." He said leaning over to do it for me.
On the drive to the hospital I explained everything that happened to Jay, telling him I didn't remember how I got there just that one minute I was in the precinct and in the next I was in the house.
Jay explained to me how they found me and why Yates had taken me to that house, also telling me he had killed his biological father while he was in that house.
In the hospital Natalie attended me letting me know that I didn't have any lifethreatening injuries just a few bad scratches and the cut on my leg luckily hadn't gotten infected, just needed a few stitches.
Once we got home I went straight to bed and just layed down, wanting the comfort of being at home with the person I loved. Jay came over and layed beside me.
"Wanna talk about it?" He asked me turning his body to face me.
"Yeah, just help me." I said pointing at my leg. He reached over and grabbed me helping me pull myself more towards the middle of the bed without putting too much weight on my arms or my leg.
"How d'you feel?" He asked me once we were both facing each other.
"I'm relieved his gone, I am. And I guess there's a part of me that's happy that I was the one who did it. But-" I closed my eyes remembering the feeling.
"What?" Jay encouraged me to carry one.
"There's just something that he said that I can't seem to shake off. I guess I already knew it but some part of me wished it wasn't really true." I felt my eyes water. "He was coming after me that night...not Nadia. I was his target." that feeling of guilt I felt the night Nadia died came flooding back in.
Jay pulled me into his arms letting me cry in his chest. "I know she'd be so proud of you" he whispered to me.
I pulled away from the hug and wiped my tears away. "I know I can't change the past, and I know it wasn't my fault but I guess there's just this part of me that can't help but wonder what could've been, and I don't think I'll ever stop wondering." I confessed to Jay.
"I get it." Jay looked at me with pain in his eyes. I knew he hated seeing me like this. "You know how much I love you right?" He asked me putting his forehead against mine.
"Yeah but remind me." he made me smile.
"I love you to infinity and beyond... and then back and then a couple more trips there and back." He added making me laugh.
He leaned down to kiss me. "And how long are you gonna love me for?" I asked him enjoying this moment.
"I'll love you for as long as it takes to count the stars." He smiled.
"That's like a 100 trillion years, don't think that's possible." I laughed.
"You're right...it isn't. I won't stop loving you even after that." He was smiling but adopted a more serious tone, showing me how serious he was about what he was saying.
Now he was making me tear up, I pushed myself up a little giving him a deep and passionate kiss. "I love you just as much and moreJay Halstead." I said once I pulled out of the kiss.
