《Jay Halstead x Reader Story/Imagine》(54.4. Cobalt Phantoms)

I walked down the steps and Trudy was on the opposite side of the front desk leaning, I could tell she was expecting me to come down.
"Honey, what'd he say?" She walked over to me.
"He's taking me off the case and he took my badge." I shrugged. I didn't want to be rude but I was angry and fed up with all the lies. And quite frankly I was mad at Trudy for keeping something like this from me for so long.
"Well, I'm sure things will sort themselves out, we'll stop this." She walked to the back of the parking lot with me.
"Of course, I'm sure you really want to believe that." I was condescending.
"Are you angry at me?" She stopped.
I turned around sighing frustrated. "I'm angry at everyone, at everything! How could you not tell me my father was the biggest son of a b*tch? How could you keep something like this from me? Everyone else found out about who my father is before I did." I started venting.
"I promised your mother. She told me to tell you only if you asked...and you never did." She kept calm.
"Right...I'm sure my dead mother would've really cared if you let that slip huh?" I stifled a laugh.
"What the hell would that have changed huh? Would you have gone after him? Would you have killed him? Because Hank, Al, and I had been keeping tabs on this guy your whole life, and trust me you would've never been able to get near him-" Trudy finally raised her voice.
I nodded, tears filling my eyes. "Yeah well, you guys did a brilliant job at keeping him away from me-" I turned around and started walking out the gate.
I heard Trudy sigh behind me and I just kept my head down, looking at my feet trying to keep my composure. My head snapped up when I heard tires screeching and I wasn't even able to process what was happening before a bag was put over my head and I felt several arms grab me and pull me, I hit a hard surface.
"y/n!" I heard Trudy's voice muffle as I heard a van door roll shut.

I felt guilty for keeping this from y/n, I understood why she was angry but all I wanted to do was protect her, keep her safe from the monster of a father she had.
"Yeah well, you guys did a brilliant job at keeping him away from me." She had the final word, those words stung badly. She was right, we'd messed up and now she was getting punished for our lies and our mistakes.
I watched her walk away, searching for anything to say to make her stay. A van pulled up, two masked me popped their head out wrapping a bag around her head before pulling her into the van.
"Y/N!" It all happened so fast they had already driven away before I even pulled out my gun. I ran forward pulling out my radio. "This is Sargent Trudy Platt, an officer's been taken at the back alley, black van, no plates, 3 suspects possibly armed," I spoke into the radio.
I saw the van turn the corner but there was nothing that I could use as a description. I had to check the cameras. I ran back inside and saw as several patrolmen ran out to chase after the van. I had to get upstairs.
I made it up the stairs as fast as I could, "They took y/n." My voice quivered as I told everyone.
"What? Who took her?" Jay got out of his chair and walked towards me.
"We need to see the security cameras from the back alley," I told Kev.
"Trudy what did you see?" Hank asked me.
"There were two men, they were wearing masks and they grabbed her, they put a bag over her head and they grabbed her. I couldn't- I didn't-" My mind was racing and it was getting harder to talk.
"I got the footage." Kev told everyone and we all gathered around to see the video, y/n being taken, nothing on the van to tell us anything.
"Wait, roll the video back." Kim must've noticed something. A tinge of hope surged in me.
"What is it?" Jay asked impatiently.
"There, stop! Zoom in right there." She pointed at one of the men. "More." She instructed Kevin.

One of the men's sleeves had pulled back revealing a tattoo. "That's the cobalt phantoms tattoo, I looked into them for the case, they're one of Nichols's rival groups," Adam told everyone.
"Word must have gotten out that Nichols has a daughter, they'll try to get to him using her," Hank spoke as everyone pieced things together.
"We should talk to our C. Is fin out where they might take her." Hailey spoke.
"Everyone move let's go, our top priority is finding y/n. Trudy, I want all of your patrolmen out there and looking for her, anything they might find, pick up anyone you have to I don't care." Hank instructed me.
I knew Hank felt the same guilt I did, we both felt responsible for whatever had happened to y/n and whatever else could happen to her in the next few hours.
My arms and legs had been tied together and I still had a bag over my head which I felt had been tied to my neck with tape. The bag was made of fabric so I was still able to somewhat breathe.
"Where the hell are you taking me?" I spoke expecting an answer but didn't get any. The whole ride I tried getting anything out of the men but got nothing apart from a shove and occasional hit to the head with a hard metal object which I assumed to be a gun.
The car ride wasn't long, I made sure to pay as much attention as I could, we took a lot of turns and I felt it getting colder as we approached our destination. We took no more than 20 minutes to get to wherever we were.
I then heard the van door roll open and seconds later the same pairs of hands that had grabbed me before picked me up and pushed me out of the van. I was walking on my own but being pushed and shoved somewhere.
The sounds of voices and our footsteps echoed which indicated to me that we were in a big probably empty space, and the fact that the temperature hadn't changed much from the ride to now meant we were probably in some sort of warehouse.
I heard a door open, it sounded heavy and it clinked a metal door. And a few seconds later I was shoved down onto a hard, cold metal chair. My hands were tied to the back of it while my feet were tied to the leg of the chair and I could feel with my hands that the chair had been tied to a pole.
My breathing started growing heavier as I remembered the day Kev and I were kidnapped, the pain I went through, and everything that came with that.
I heard the door shut. "Who are you and what do you want?!" I built up the courage to ask again.
I heard laughing. "I don't think you're in the position to ask questions Y/n Nichols" I heard a woman's voice which I didn't recognize.
"Nichols? I'm not who you think I am." I started piecing things together. I heard someone walk towards me and the bag was yanked off my head. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the light.
"Right!" I heard her laugh again, sounding completely unconvinced by my answer. I could now see the woman and two men behind her, I had no idea who they were.
"You know your daddy did a good job keeping you hidden, but secrets out the bag...and I've been waiting for an opportunity like this. So you're gonna tell me where he's keeping my product, and trust me, I'll make you talk." One of the men walked forward with a knife, I was prepared to get cut or stabbed but I felt the blade on my thighs and my arms, simply cutting at my clothes. The cold seeping into my skin, causing immediate shivers through my body.
I pulled and tugged my hands and feet trying to fight back, to set myself free but it was no use. "I swear I have nothing to do with Nichols, I don't know what you're talking about," I told the truth.
The woman's face shifted from calm to anger in a matter of seconds as she walked forward swinging her arm back, I let out a blood curdling scream as I felt a sharp pain on my thigh, she stabbed me.

An Unbound Soul
When Peter suffers a too-close encounter with a truck, he finds himself reborn in another world. At first glance it is a perfect fantasy land. There's magic to play with, elves singing in the forest and a hyperactive catgirl neighbour. There's even a System that lets him earn skills and level up. But it isn't long before he notices that the world is far too perfect. Just why is everyone so nice? Can Peter accept the alien morality of this world's self-proclaimed protector, or will he seek to overthrow her? Set after the events of A Lonely Dungeon, a few hundred years after the rebirth of civilization, this is a story about an earthling falling into Erryn's new world and the subsequent struggles of himself and Erryn to understand each other. It's a slow paced slice of life, and while there are pieces of action, don't expect any immediate grand conflict between Erryn and Peter. Published here, scribblehub and amazon. Keepers of the Neeft

In the capital of the Throne-home, the Imperial Academy produces the next generation of great leaders to drive that expansion. Cadryn Bence knows he will be one such leader, he’s overcome his common birth, mixed heritage, and every other obstacle to be the top of his class. He dreams of glory on the southern front against the Gravanik States. He will not be finding it. Instead, if the glory he expects. Far to the north, lies the unassumingly named North-Eastern Extreme Frontier Tower, a backwater post if ever there were one. Through the machinations of the Emperor’s state religion, and a cult within it, Cadryn will find himself on his way to this first assignment. On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.
