The last couple of weeks have been hectic and I mean hectic. Me and Liam graduated high school and now we have a couple of months off before we head to the academy to start training for our jobs. Liam is looking forward to becoming a cop, he's always looked up to my dad as inspiration and I always looked up to Uncle Matt and Uncle Kelly as inspiration for becoming a firefighter.

It's early morning, mom and dad have already left for work and I'm still in bed snuggled up to my boyfriend, who has his arms wrapped tightly around me but I could feel him stirring in his sleep, so I turn over to face him but by the time I've turned around Liam was awake.

"Good morning beautiful," my boyfriend said in his morning voice. By god, his morning voice is so sexy. "Good morning handsome" I whispered whilst looking at him in his dreamy eyes. I sat up in bed and leaned against the headboard of my bed to then look at Liam who is half awake hugging the pillow whilst I run my hand through his fluffy curly hair, causing him to smile, which also caused me to smile which makes me extremely happy.

By the time we both got out of bed it was 11am, so I was in the kitchen making some bacon and eggs and whilst doing I felt a very strong pair of arms wrap tightly around my small waist. UI then tilt my head backwards to see my boyfriend grinning at me for him to then lean down and place a soft but tender kiss on my lips.

"So what are you cooking?" he asked. "Bacon and eggs, which I know is your favourite" I replied with a sweet smile on my face. I serve the food up and hand a plate over to Liam who is sitting at the island. Once I handed him his food, I went back to dish some up for myself and then went to go and sit next to him.

Whilst eating breakfast, we talked about our plans for the rest of the summer and that we are going to spend almost every available moment with each other and make some everlasting memories. But we also talked about our careers and how much we are looking forward to going to the academy. We also talked about our plans for today. Liam said he was going to the mall to do some shopping because he was taking me out on a date tonight which I found really sweet and he told me to dress up fancy. I told him that I was going to go down to the district to see the intelligence unit, whilst I do some reading to prep myself for the fire academy.

I tidied up and washed the dishes up and then headed upstairs to get dressed for the day. I opened my closet and pulled out my plain white vest top along with my light blue ripped jeans and put in on but before closing my closet doors, I grabbed my CFD jacket Uncle Matt and Uncle Kelly gifted me for my birthday and popped it on. Then I grabbed my bag and put my books, notepad and pencil case in my bag, so I can do some studying whilst at the district. I also put my sunglasses on the top of my head. Now I was ready to leave and head to the district for the day. heading out of my room and walking down the stair, I was greeted by my boyfriend who handed me my car keys.

"Here are your keys and have a good day! I'll text you when I get back from the mall. I love you, Maisie" Liam said. I looked right at him. "I love you too Liam. I better get going but I'll text you once I get to the district to let you know that I'm safe" I replied before getting on my tippee toes and giving my boyfriend a kiss before opening the front door and heading out.

Getting into my black Chevrolet, I got for my birthday, putting my bag on the passenger set, I was all set ready to head off on the 15 minute drive to the district. During the drive to the district, I was lucky enough not to get caught in any traffic, as the roads were fairly quiet, which is amazing in my opinion because one thing that I hate is traffic. A short while later, I pull up outside the district, I grabbed my things and got out of the car and walked in.

"Afternoon Trudy. You alright?" I asked as I walked into the district. "I'm good thank you, Maisie, you here to see your mom, dad and grandpa?" the desk Sergent asked me and she buzzed me up and I headed up the stairs to the bullpen.

"Afternoon you lot," I said. Mom popped her head out of the breakroom door and dad peered over the top of the computer. "Hiya Mai you alright," Dad asked. "Yeah, I'm good thanks. Just wanted to come and see you. Also, me and Liam are going out for date night tonight" I said before heading into the breakroom, sitting at the table and getting my laptop, books, notepad and pencil case out, so I can start doing some studying.

Liam's Pov

Tonight is the night, I treat my girlfriend to a very special evening to show her how much I love and appreciate her for everything she does for me. So, I get in my car and drive down to the mall because I wanted to go to the jewellers to get my girl a promise ring and necklace because she deserve the absolute world and to be treated because she always treats me.

After parking the car, I headed straight for the jewellers and when I got there I saw the most gorgeous sparkling butterfly ring with a matching necklace, earrings and bracelet. I knew instantly that I was going to get that for my special girl and I didn't care how much it was going to cost me. I walked into the store and told the assistant that I'd seen the butterfly set in the window and they went to go and get it for me. When they came back with the set, my eye just went wide because it was so beautiful it was going to look stunning in my Maisie. I told them that it was a gift, so they put it in a special gift wrap for me. I just couldn't wait to give it to her later. I paid for jewellery and left the store. The next stop was the florist to pick up some red, white and pink roses bouquets for Maisie.

Walking across the mall to get to the florist, all of a sudden the was an almighty blast that blew me backwards and I ended up hitting the ground and bashing my head as I hit the ground with almighty forces and then everything went black.

Maisie's Pov

For the past couple of hours, I have been studying for the fire academy. I've been making notes on all the procedures that need to be followed at the different accident scenes. As I've been doing so much work for the past couple of hours, I needed a break, so I went to the vending machine to grab a bag of Cheetos and a can of soda and as I was walking back into the break room, I could feel my phone vibrating in the back pocket of my jeans. I put my food and drink on the table and answer the phone and saw it was the hospital. I thought that this is strange. It might be Uncle Will calling on one of the main phones because his cellphone is out of charge, but I answer the call anyway.

Maisie; Hello?

Rhodes: Hi Maisie

Maisie: Uncle Rhodey, why are you calling me?

Rhodes: Your down as Liam Glades emergency contact

Maisie: What's happened? What's happened to my Liam?!?

Rhodes: There was an explosion at the mall and he wasn't too far from the blast. We recommend that you come down to Med as quick as you can.

Maisie: I'm on my way right now. Thanks for calling Uncle Rhodey.

Rhodes: I'll see you when you get to Med.

I hang the phone up and shove it in the back pocket of my jeans and I grab my jacket and car keys and practically ran like lightning out of the bullpen and down the stair. I knew when I started running, the entire intelligence unit was looking at me like I was someone crazy.

Once I reached my car, I got in and drove as fast as I could, so I could get to Med and be with my Liam, who I love with all my heart and I don't know what I would do if I lost him. I would probably go crazy and have a mental breakdown. At this point, I didn't care if I was going over the speed limit because all I wanted was to be my boyfriend's side and not leave him until I knew that he is okay.

I pulled up at Med and practically jumped out of the car and ran into the already busy ER and went up to the nurse's station. "Maggie, Maggie, I'm looking for Liam Glade. Rhodes called me about 20 minutes ago" I said frantically. "He's in Trauma 2, Mai," the head nurse said and I ran straight to that room and when I got there he was intubated and had wires all over him and from that sight, I could feel the tears escaping my eyes, so I wipe my eyes with the sleeve of my jacket and pull the chair that is by his bed right up close to his beside, so I could hold his hand and not let go until he's awake.

I pick up his hand and place it in mine and look at my boyfriend. "Please, please don't leave me, Liam. You are the best thing that has happened in my life and I don't know what I would do without you in my life. You complete my entire world and it would crumble if you left me. I honestly see my entire future with you. I want to marry you. I want to have your children and I want to grow old with you. I love you too the moon and back Liam Glade. So you have to wake up and I'm going to say what I've said, every day until you wake up. I love you bubba" I said breaking down in tears. As I breakdown down in tears, I feel an arm around my shoulder and I look up to see my dad and I jump out of the chair and into my dad's arms.

"sh sh sh, it's going to be alright, Liam is a strong lad. He'll wake up. Will was going to speak to you about his condition but he thought it was best if I told you his condition. Liam got a head injury from the blast an also a minor brain bleed and some internal injuries as well. Because Liam was in so much pain they had to put him in an induced coma" Dad told me.

Doctors came in and told me they were moving him to ICU and told me that I could go with him. I jumped out of the chair I was sitting in and followed the doctors up to the ICU ward, so I could stay with my boyfriend. Mom came to see me to try and convince me to come home and I said no, not until Liam was awake and she understood and left.

I picked up and held Liam's hand again and leaned my head on the side of the bed ti try and get some sleep and I wasn't planning on letting my boyfriend's hand go at all.
