《Blaze, My Mate》Chapter 20

After breakfast, we spent time talking about anything and everything. It was amazing how relaxed my mate was. She was all smiling while looking at our son who hated the idea of going to daycare if it meant not watching TV and eating berries all day.
"It's going to be so much fun, you will make new friends and see Mrs Benson all the time," Sophia said to our son who started clapping his hands happily at the mention of caretaker.
"Am I missing something here?" I inquired chuckling at my son who was doing a weird dance. The kid had no moves at all must be from his mother's side.
" Well, he met Mrs Benson and she gave him a ginger biscuit. She became his favourite person." She said laughing as Azure tried pulling her on her feet.
"You know, mama doesn't dance big boy." The joy on their faces filled my heart with so much love, I couldn't help the smile on my face.
Azure smiled and ran down the corridor to his mother's room and came back with Sophia's phone. My mate blushed when she saw what our son had in his hands. He had a goofy smile as he gave his mother the phone and started jumping around. I was confused at first but realised he was doing some kind of dance. Judging by the pleading look Sophia gave him to stop, I guess it was what they did together.
Sophia cleared her throat and spoke to a hyperactive Azure;
"Why do you go and draw Dada's wolf?" That was something new about Azure, he was quite an artist. He would practice his art on every surface until his mother was fed up and got him a drawing book. The kid was actually good and I was one proud papa.
He dashed off to his room and left me with my mate who was sweeping the floor with her eyelashes. She was trying to hide her blush from me, how cute. I decided to tease her.
"So..you are quite a dancer huh?" She gave me an innocent look and shook her head no. I couldn't take my eyes off her. A smirk made its way to my face when her cheeks turned pink.
"I...I...don't know what you're talking about," she said avoiding my gaze.
"Oh really? Want me to call our son mate?" I asked with a brow raised. She snickered and rolled her eyes.
"Yes really, but that's not important..."
"What could be more important than discovering that my mate can bust some moves?" She laughed, my heart skipped a bit at that sound. It was happy and genuine, it filled my soul with so much joy.
"I don't know, maybe the fact that I have dinner with my mate and his parents but have nothing to wear." She looked nervous. Did she think I have a problem with her buying whatever she wants?
"Well, if I remember correctly your mate gave you a credit card to use as you wish." Her eyes lit up like a kid on a Christmas morning.
"Are sure? Like really sure, Alpha?" She asked trying to downplay her excitement but I could see how eager she was. I just nodded and she took off running towards the bedrooms screaming she needed my tablet and to call Leona.

I was about to get up and clear the table when my mate wrapped her arms around my neck, kissing my cheek afterwards. I froze but this went unnoticed to her. Instead, she whispered out:
"Thank you," and she was running back. "Don't worry about cleaning up, I will take care of it."
I sat there for a moment trying to recover from my shock. I knew right then that she was opening her heart to me. She was letting me in and possibly falling for me. It was becoming harder to control Zion when we smelt her need for us.
I sat there with a smile on my face thinking about things I'm going do to for my mate. I could see the joy on her face already and that made me even happier.
Zion said.
Zion chuckled, He growled. He huffed closed the link.
Danm wolf, I knew it was all my fault. There was no need to remind me. Caleb had been trying to mind link me all morning even though I closed it off. Yes even for him. I told him last night not to bother me and to1 call, dad if there was an emergency. My father was standing in for me since I was taking care of my mate. But I guess it all fell on deaf ears. Since Sophia would be busy with Leona, I thought it was best to go see what was going on with my Beta.
I told my mate I will be back and left. I met a very hyper Leona on my way down.
"Good morning Alpha," she continued before I could answer. " Are you excited about today? Do you have any requests? Oh Goddess, I know I know leather. She gonna look amazing, your jaw is gonna drop when you see her." She smiled evilly and run up the stairs leaving me confused.
I didn't know if it was okay for her to be left alone with my family she seemed particularly out of it. Before I could make any decision on whether to go to my mate or not Caleb showed up.
"Hey man, I was on my way to see you, Is everything alright?" He looked worried so something was up.
"I should be asking you that. Were you trying to give me a fucking headache?" I couldn't help the growl at the end.
"I'm sorry Alpha, I thought something was wrong with Sophia and our parents said they weren't able to meet her. I was worried." He apologised with his head down.
Zion was annoyed, we gave a direct order not to disturb us but he kept trying to link with me. I didn't mean to make him submit but knowing I have to face his parents was making me uneasy.
"Sophia is fine, let's go to my office and talk." I knew my in-laws were going to blame me. I didn't care as long as they stayed away from my Sophia, we will get along just fine.
We made our way to my office only to find my mate's parents waiting. Her father looked like he was ready to kill, he didn't even try to hide his distaste for me. Her mother tried her best to smile but I could tell it was forced. Joan was trying her best to calm Brain down, he was looking straight in my eyes with his fists clenched.

Zion took that as a challenge and was ready for a fight. Ever since Sophia came back my wolf was getting stronger and it was becoming hard to control him. It pissed me off too that he was disrespecting me, I was his Alpha. But I had to remind myself that he was a father who didn't want me to be with his daughter.
With that thought in mind, I walked into my office. Everyone followed me in and Brain spoke first.
"What have you done to my daughter? Why is she locked up? I was trying my best not to react negatively but the level of disrespect he was showing me was getting to me.
"What do mean locked up? Sophia is fine dad." My beta spoke up.
"How can you say that she is fine when she is locked up and not allowed to meet her parents," Joan said with a trembling voice. I could tell she was working hard to keep her tears at bay but she lost that fight.
It took me a while to register what Joan said. Why would I lock my mate up? What the hell?
"Why the hell would I lock my mate..." As soon as the word mate left my mouth, Brian growled and his eyes were glowing.
I could sense his wolf was ready for a fight. This was not going according to plan at all because I was losing my shit and my control over Zion.
"Come down dad and let him explain." Brain snapped his head towards Caleb.
"What the fuck Caleb, he has your sister locked up, she can't even meet her parents and you want me to come down. What kind of a brother are you?" Brain said in anger.
"Sophia is fine but is not ready to meet with you two." I tried to explain but it fell on deaf ears.
"What the fuck does that even mean, how can you say that my daughter is not ready to meet her parents? Who the hell do you think you are?" Brian said with disgust.
"It means stay the fuck away from her and in case you forgot I'm your fucking Alpha," I roared. That sound surprised even me, I knew the last thread of my control just snapped.
Zion huffed.
I wasn't ready to deal with his annoying ass.
"You are not and will never be my Alpha Blaze. The reason I even stepped on this land is to get my daughter and lea..." There was a loud growl that shook the room and I realised it was coming from me.
Didn't he just say he was taking my mate, my Luna, the mother of my children and the love of my life? Was he trying to kill me by taking my heart away, the reason I was breathing? No way in hell was going to let it happen, over my fucking dead body.
I took calm and calculated steps towards him giving him the death stare, his wolf was afraid trying to submit but the human side was not allowing it.
"Who do you think you are coming to this land and threatening to take our Luna away?" My wolf was with me and we were going to eliminate any threat to our mate. We didn't give a shit who it was.
"The Luna of this land is Victoria or did you forget who you claimed as your mate, Alpha Blaze, " his words were dripping with sarcasm.
"Sophia is my mate and..."
"Now she is your mate wow Alpha Blaze wow." That man had a death wish and I was going to fulfil it.
"I was under a fucking spell, you know it and everything body bloody knows it. What right do you have to come here and demand to see her." If he thought I was going to roll over and let him walk all over me he had another thing coming.
"I am her father, it's my right..." I cut him off his voice was starting to irritate me.
"You and your family disowned her so you coming here and wanting to see her is upsetting my mate so stay the fuck away until she says otherwise." Nobody said a word, I had Brain against the wall. He looked terrified he was finding it hard to breathe.
"Do I make myself clear Bata, stay the fuck away from my mate until she ready to see you." He still said nothing.
"I said do I make myself clear Beta?" I said with one of the deepest growls I have ever heard. He nodded with his head down.
"Blaze you need to calm down, what the hell is going on here?" Whoever said that was right but Brian needed to know his place, how dare he says that he was going to take my mate away.
All I could think about was to remove the person trying to take what's mine until her scent hit me.
" Blaze, " my baby said with a trembling voice. That made me snap out of the haze I was in and focus on her. Was something wrong, why did she sound so worried, she looked scared. If he did something to her the fucker was dead, I didn't give a shit if he was her father or not. When I tightened my hand around her father's neck, she spoke again :
"Are you okay?" she asked while holding my arm on her father's neck. So she was worried about me.
"You need to calm down, can you do that for me?" She asked in a calm voice that was putting my mind at ease a bit.
"He is going to take you away from me." I knew it sounded childish but I need some assuring.
"Hey, nobody is going to take me away from you okay." That was all I needed to hear.
I took my mate in my arms and buried my nose in her neck.

How to have fun in an apocalypse (Rewrite)
After spending an unsavory amount of time in hell, our protagonist finally manages to escape the place that had kept him captive for so long... again. Unfortunately, even after plotting and planning for years, he ends up in a place not much different from the burning and agonizing Tartarus he once had to call home. Guts, blood, and carnage start to reign over Earth as soon as he set foot in it, much to his dismay. What use is it to cry over spilled milk, though? Tired of the monotony of endless torture, he steps into the world intending to have as much fun as possible. While others might try to raid the Orc Lord with as many people as possible, why not challenge him to an arm-wrestling tournament? The power of friendship will surely be on his side. Why hide from the big, bad wolf in one of your houses if wearing camo in plain sight should have the same effect? Now, making friends and going on adventures would be perfectly fine, if it wasn't for the fact that he hides a few more secrets than one might think at first. This is a complete rewrite! Due to being unsatisfied with the previous version, I have decided to work the story up, beginning from the older chapters! Version 2.0 includes: - enhanced writing and editorial skills - additional information and aspects to characters - minor deviation from storyline and improvements
